Abstract: Allergen immunotherapy (AIT), also known as allergen vaccine desensitization, is currently the only treatment that can change the natural course of allergic diseases. AIT for pregnant women is a protective factor for neonatal allergies. Existing findings suggest that AIT should not be started during pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, or lactation periods, but can be continued if has already been started before; unexpected pregnancy during AIT does not require termination; AIT shows no obvious adverse effects on fetuses, infants, and young children. The latest evidence on the effectiveness and safety of AIT during pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, and lactation periods were reviewed.
