Abstract:
In the traditional human immunoglobulin for intravenous injection(IVIG) manufacturing process, IgM and IgA fractions are often discarded as pollutants, but previous studies have shown that these antibodies are effective in treating sepsis or septic shock. Considering the increasing demand for products derived from human plasma and the scarcity of raw materials,it is necessary to further improve the utilization rate of plasma in industrial production. Therefore, further purification of IgAand IgM-enriched IgG from IVIG production waste is very valuable. At present, no drug of the same type has been approved for marketing domestically. This paper reviews the content of IgA and IgM in IVIG products that have been marketed, the purification and the clinical use of IgA-and IgM-enriched IgG products that have been marketed or in clinical research abroad, so as to provide reference for the process development and clinical use of IgA- and IgM-enriched IgG products
