Abstract:
The red doctor spirit is an important teaching resource for medical students’ ideological and political theory courses. The educational concept of “knowledge, emotion, will, belief, and action,” as a means and method in ideological and political education, makes the integration of the red doctor spirit into medical students’ ideological and political theory courses effective and targeted. From the perspective of “knowledge, emotion, will, belief, and action,” the basic connotation of “political firmness, technical excellence, healing the wounded and rescuing the dying, hard work, and pioneering and innovative” in the red doctor spirit is the concrete embodiment of the five dimensions of belief, knowledge, emotion, will, and action. It is highly compatible with the educational objectives of medical students’ ideological and political theory courses, with consistency of educational goals, resonance of emotional connection, integration of educational resources, homogeneity of mental calcium, and coherence between educational means and purposes. Therefore, it is essential to fully tap and make good use of the teaching resources of red doctor, by telling the stories of red doctor, cultivating the feelings of red doctor, tempering the will of red doctor, carrying forward the belief of red doctor, and practicing the red doctor spirit from the five dimensions of “knowledge, emotion, will, belief, and action,” thereby helping students to lay a solid foundation of “knowledge,” enhance the generation of “emotion,” promote the inheritance of “will,” strengthen the power of “belief,” and facilitate the imitation of “action” under the education and inspiration of the red doctor spirit.
