- Abstract: The quality of recovery after surgery not only affects patient's satisfaction degree, but also affects patient's prognosis. With the goal of promoting early recovery, the potential advantages of amide local anesthetic lidocaine in perioperative intravenous application have attracted much attention. Intravenous infusion of lidocaine has many benefits, such as analgesia, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, and organ protection, and can effectively improve patient's prognosis. This study reviewed the current status of lidocaine in clinical intravenous application, explored its advantages in promoting patient's recovery, and briefly described the relevant mechanisms and safety of its application in the perioperative period.
