Abstract:
The STRIVE-2 (STandards for ReportIng Vascular changes on nEuroimaging 2) updated in 2023, introduced the term"incidental diffusion-weighted-imaging (DWI)-positive lesion"as an emerging cerebral small vessel diseases (CSVD) feature. This article summarized the research progress of incidental DWI-positive lesions in terms of their incidence, distribution, mechanism, evolution, association with CSVD progression, and clinical features, intending to better recognize their value in the study of CSVD.
