Abstract:
Malnutrition, sarcopenia and frailty are common geriatric syndromes in the elderly and seriously affect their functional ability and quality of life.Poor oral health may be one of the risk factors for these common geriatric syndromes. This article introduces the definition of oral frailty and clinical evidence for the correlation of oral frailty or oral health-related poor quality of life with malnutrition, sarcopenia and frailty, in order to provide a basis for improving the overall health of the elderly through early intervention of oral health problems in the future.
