Abstract: Intolerance of uncertainty(IU)is a cognitive process related to anxiety disorder.High IU levels predict increased anxiety and reflect low tolerance for uncertain events.IU is associated with many emotional disor-ders,and psychotherapy which focused on IU could be used to help patients with mood disorder improve mood reg-ulation strategies.This article summarizes the theory and efficacy of IU based psychotherapy,indicating IU is related to emotional disorder and affects emotional regulation,and could be considered as a transdiagnostic factor of psy-chotherapy.
