Abstract:
Parkinson's disease(PD)is a heritable degenerative disease of the central nervous system.Symptoms such as dyskinesia are caused by dysregulation of mesencephalic dopamine metabolism.Cur-rently,although the drugs used for the treatment of Parkinson's disease have been developed to target the pathogenesis of the disease, there are still some deficiencies in blood-brain barrier permeability that lead to the poor therapeutic effects of these drugs. And nanomaterials offer a solution to Parkinson's disease treatment by targeting drugs to specific regions, solving the deficiency in site-specific delivery.Nanoma-terials have unique physicochemical properties and can cross the blood-brain barrier by different mecha-nisms.New research identifies therapeutic drugs carrying nanocarriers and suitable ligands that help im-prove the distribution of hydrophilic drugs in the brain for site-specific drug delivery.Black phosphorus is a novel nanomaterial that has attracted much attention in the last five years and has been widely used in biomedical research due to its unique structure-endowed properties, including superior photothermal/pho-todynamic properties, reducing properties, high drug-carrying capacity, and good biocompatibility. In this review,we try to present the mechanism of Parkinson's disease and the applicability of black phos-phorus nanosheets in its treatment.
