Abstract:
Objective:To investigate reference values of the widely used Alberta infant motor scale(AIMS)for infants in Shanghai. Method:The AIMS was used to evaluate 1790 infants aged 0-18 months from 16 districts of Shanghai by us-ing the stratified cluster random sampling method. The passing age of each item and the scores of each age group were calculated and compared with the Canadian normative sample. The differences between the two datas-ets were analyzed to develop the norm of the AIMS for 0-18 months infants in Shanghai. Result:AIMS scores of infants 0-18 months of age increased with age,and scores leveled off after 16 months of age.The scores of Shanghai infants were significantly lower than those of Canadian infants at l-3,4,6,9,12,and 13 months of age.Among the items with a passing rate of 10%-90%,Shanghai infants passed 7 items(14.6%)more than 4 weeks earlier than the Canadian norm, and 1 item(2.1%)more than 4 weeks later.Linear regression analysis was performed on the scores of the two groups, and the regression equa-tion XSH=0.950×XCAN+0.679 was obtained, and the correlation coefficient was 0.97(P<0.05). Conclusion:The Shanghai norm for AIMS has been established, which can be used as a reference standard for monitoring the motor development of children aged 0-18 months.
