Abstract:
In the treatment of hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy(HOCM),traditional pharmacotherapy, while palliative for symptoms, fails to target the pathogenic mechanisms to retard the natural progression of the disease, thus exhibiting limitations in management.Although surgical septal myectomy offers definitive therapeutic outcomes, its widespread clinical application is constrained due to the significant invasiveness and elevated risk associated with the procedure.Similarly, the minimally invasive approach of alcohol septal ablation, while a less aggressive treatment option, cannot overlook the potential post-procedural complications such as atrioventricular block. With the continuous advancement of medical technology, treatment strategies for HOCM are evolving. This article aims to provide an overview of the recent advancements in the management of HOCM.
