Abstract:
Objective:To gain a deep understanding of the real experiences of obstetric and gynecological nurses implementing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) nursing techniques, and to provide a reference for specialized hospitals to carry out TCM nursing techniques.Methods:From March 2021 to June 2022, purposive sampling was used to select 14 nurses working in Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the International Peace Maternity and Child Care Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University Medical School as the research subjects. A phenomenological research method in qualitative research was used to conduct semi-structured interviews with them, and the Colaizzi 7-step analysis method was used to analyze the data.Results:Four themes were identified, namely, the intuitive therapeutic effects, promoting factors, restricting factors and related suggestions of commonly used TCM nursing techniques in obstetrics and gynecology.Conclusions:The implementation of TCM nursing techniques by obstetric and gynecological nurses requires strengthening specialized personnel training, establishing an efficacy evaluation scheme, and solidifying the foundation of TCM in patient care.
