Abstract:
Objective:To systematically review the domestic and foreign cognitive assessment instruments for neonatal pain management, with a view to providing reference for future research. Methods:The research on the development of the cognitive assessment instrument for neonatal pain management was searched through computers on China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), WanFang Data, China Biomedical Literature Database, VIP, Web of Science Core Collection, PubMed and Embase. The search period was from database establishment to August 30, 2022. We summarized and analyzed the article that met the inclusion criteria. Results:A total of 8 cognitive assessment instruments were extracted. The most frequent content of the tools was the cognition and implementation of analgesic drugs, non-drug nursing measures and pain intensity assessment, as well as education and training, parent involvement and other contents. Conclusions:There is a significant gap between domestic research and foreign research on neonatal pain. Most of the cognitive assessment instruments for neonatal pain management are translated from foreign versions into Chinese. It is necessary to develop a neonatal pain management cognitive assessment instrument suitable for Chinese medical culture background on the basis of comprehensive understanding of relevant assessment instruments at home and abroad, and in combination with the latest guidelines on neonatal pain management, so as to improve the awareness and quality of medical and nursing staff on neonatal pain management.
