Abstract:
Objective:To explore the effect of intervention based on theoretical model of behavior change on the breastfeeding of primiparous women undergoing natural childbirth. Methods:From October 2020 to December 2021, convenience sampling was used to select pregnant women who established records in the Department of Obstetrics of the Huai'an First People's Hospital as the research subject. This study ultimately included 100 pregnant and delivery women, 50 in the control group, and 50 in the intervention group. The control group received routine nursing, while the intervention group received intervention based on theoretical model of behavior change on the basis of routine nursing. We compared the knowledge, self-efficacy, and status of breastfeeding between two groups of pregnant and delivery women. Results:The breastfeeding knowledge and self-efficacy scores of the two groups of pregnant and delivery women at 3, 42 days, and 3 months after delivery showed an upward trend, and those of intervention group were higher than those of control group, with statistically significant differences ( P<0.01). The pure breastfeeding rates of pregnant and delivery women in the intervention group at 3, 42 days and 3 months after delivery were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:Interventions based on theoretical model of behavior change can improve breastfeeding knowledge, self-efficacy, and pure breastfeeding rate of pregnant and delivery women.
