Abstract: This paper expounds the origin and development of systems engineering initiative for patient safety (SEIPS) model, summarizes the research progress on application of this model in the nursing field at home and abroad in recent years and proposes relevant suggestions for the future research and application of this model in the nursing field, with a view to providing a reference for the application of systems engineering initiative for patient safety model in China.
