Objective:To explore the effect of self-disclosure intervention in couples on anxiety, intimacy and quality of life in patients with prostate cancer. Methods:Using the convenient sampling method, a total of 70 prostate cancer patients who were admitted to Department of Urinary Surgery in Shanxi Bethune Hospital from July 2019 to July 2021 were selected as the research objects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group and the observation group, with 35 cases in each group. The patients in the control group were given routine intervention during the perioperative period, while the observation group was given the intervention of couples' self-disclosure on the basis of the control group. The psychological status [Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) , Psychological Distress Thermometer (DT) ] , intimacy [Intimacy Satisfaction Questionnaire (QRI) ] , self-disclosure level [Pain Exposure Index Scale (DDI) ] and Quality of Life Questionnaire Core-30 (QLQ-C30) were compared between the two groups before and after the intervention. Results:After the intervention, the HAMA score, DT score and bilateral avoidance communication score of the two groups were lower than those before the intervention, and HAMA score, DT score and bilateral avoidance communication score of the observation group after the intervention were lower than those of the control group ( P<0.05) . The QRI score, DDI score, demand/avoidance communication score, constructive communication score, physical function, role function, emotional function, cognitive function, social function and overall quality of life scores in the two groups after the intervention were higher than those before the intervention ( P<0.05) . And the QRI score, DDI score, demand/avoidance communication score, constructive communication score, physical function, role function, emotional function, cognitive function, social function and overall quality of life scores in the observation group after intervention were higher than those in the control group ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:Couple self-disclosure intervention can effectively relieve anxiety and pain in patients with prostate cancer and improve the intimacy, self-disclosure level and quality of life between couples.
