Abstract:
Isolated infarction in the hand knob area is a rare type of cerebral infarction in clinical practice, with the clinical manifestation of simple movement disorder in the specific group of fingers on the contralateral side of the lesion, and the patient is unable to perform extending, flexion or opposition, without sensory disturbance or pyramidal signs. It is often misdiagnosed as peripheral neurological disease of the unilateral upper limb in clinical diagnosis and treatment. This article reviews the data of one patient with a confirmed diagnosis of isolated infarction in the hand knob area, including medical history, physical examination, laboratory examination, neurophysiological examination, cranial imaging, and im-aging data of intracranial and extracranial vessels, and it also analyzes the clinical features, risk factors, etiology, and dif-ferential diagnosis of this disease with reference to relevant literature.
