Abstract:
Objective:To explore the effects of clinical mind mapping in emergency response ability training for junior midwives. Methods:From January 2017 to January 2020, totally 150 junior midwives from the East, West and South Campuses of Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Hospital as well as the Department of Obstetrics at Beijing Luhe Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University were selected by convenient sampling, and divided into an observation group and a control group according to the random number table, with 75 midwives in each group. Midwives in the control group were trained with conventional case study, while midwives in the observation group were trained with clinical mind mapping based on the training provided to the control group. After the training, the theoretical knowledge of emergency response ability, emergency drill assessment results, psychological state, and satisfaction with training were compared between the two groups of junior midwives. Results:The theoretical knowledge of emergency response ability, emergency drill assessment results, and satisfaction with training in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.01) . The total scores of the Anxiety Self-rating Scale, Depression Self-rating Scale, and Job Burnout Scale in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.01) . Conclusions:In the emergency response ability training for junior midwives, the use of clinical mind mapping can improve their theoretical knowledge of emergency response ability, emergency drill assessment results, psychological state, and satisfaction with training.
