Objective:To explore the psychological feelings of surgical nurses returning to work after the second childbirth, help relieve their psychological pressure, and provide a basis for guaranteeing surgical nursing human resources. Methods:Between March and September 2019, totally 14 nurses returning to work after the second childbirth who were working in the Department of Surgery at a Class Ⅲ Grade A hospital were selected by purposive sampling. Semi-structured interviews were conducted using phenomenological methods in qualitative research, and Colaizzi's seven-step analysis was used to analyze the data. Results:There were three major stressors in surgical nurses returning to work after the second childbirth: reduced job competence, conflict between work and family, and poor personal physical and mental health. Conclusions:Nursing managers should pay attention to the effects of stressors on surgical nurses returning to work after the second childbirth, and take targeted intervention measures to enable them to adapt to the pace of work as soon as possible and reduce the negative effects of stressors.
