Abstract:
Internal carotid artery occlusion(ICAO)is not a rare finding in clinical practice. Most studies have indicated that the recanalization of ICAO can reduce the incidence of stroke and improve patient's cognition. However, because of its high surgical difficulty, low success rate and more complications,it seriously affects the prognosis of patients, which is the key and difficult point in the field of cerebrovascular interventional therapy at present. This paper briefly reviews the concept of ICAO non-acute phase recanalization, preoperative imaging evaluation, current treatment status, and common perioperative complications, etc.(J Intervent Radiol,2024,33:571-575)
