Abstract:
LI Bi-Liu and YI Ju-Sun are the famous Lingnan practitioners who were skillful in using classical prescriptions in modern times. They were the authors of Li Bi Liu Jing Fang Yi An(LI Bi-Liu's Classical Prescription Case Records)and Ji Si Yi An(Brainstorming Case Records),respectively.By studying the two books, the researchers found that the two practitioners all addressed the importance to yang qi and made good use of warming-yang method, sharing the similar academic thoughts.Their common academic thoughts were as follows:(1)They performed prescription-syndrome differentiation,in particular during the use of warming-yang method. They not only prescribed the formula according to different syndromes, but also extended the application of the classical prescriptions according to the prescription-syndrome pathogenesis.(2)They focused on the inspection of vitality, aiming to distinguish the deficiency and damage of yang qi in zang-fu organs.(3)They paid more attention to the inspection of stomach qi,so as to evaluate yang qi and predict the prognosis.(4)They emphasized the guarding of yang, and maintained yang through the proper prescription and proper method.(5)In case of impairment of both yin and yang, tonifying yang was more important, for tonifying yang promoted the formation of yin,and then yin generated gradually and spontaneously. Both LI Bi-Liu and YI Ju-Sun emphasized warming yang and were good at warming yang, and their ideas were different from most of the other Lingnan practitioners who avoided using warming therapy, and will provide reference for the clinical practice of modern Chinese medicine.
