From Symptoms to the Root Cause:Analyzing the Essence of Psoriasis Recurrence

Abstract:
The recurrence of psoriasis has always been a difficult problem in the treatment of psoriasis,and with the widely use of biological agents,this problem will become more prominent in the future.The pathogenesis of psoriasis is characterized by deficiency in the origin and excess in the superficiality,manifesting that spleen-kidney yang deficiency is the root cause of psoriasis,triggered external pathogens is the predisposing factor of psoriasis,and blood-heat and stasis obstruction becomes the secondary symptoms of psoriasis.In this article,it is proposed that psoriasis is a kind of diseases of internal injury in nature,and the recurrence of psoriasis is closely related to the pathogenesis of'blood-heat and stasis obstruction as the secondary symptoms,and spleen-kidney deficiency as the root cause'.The recurrence is due to the fact that the treatment only suppresses the secondary symptoms of blood heat but fails to eliminate the root cause of depletion and deficiency.Therefore,the therapy of consolidating vital base should be performed throughout the treatment of psoriasis,and the methods of eliminating dampness and removing stasis should be adopted depending on the presence of water-dampness retention and blood stasis stagnation,so as to achieve the overall stable therapeutic effect.
