Abstract:
Breast volume is an important index of breast plastic surgery, and accurate pre-operational breast volume measurement can guide doctors to make suitable surgical plans. There are many breast measurement methods, such as linear measurement, two-dimensional measurement, three-dimensional measurement, etc.This article reviews breast volume measurement methods and compares their advantages and disadvantages. Due to the operating and accuracy problems, the direct measurement, plastic cup, and chest-model method have been less used. Because of the simple operating and high accuracy, the linear measurement method is still commonly used in clinical practice. In recent years, emerging measurement methods such as 3 dimensional scanning can make the results more accurate. In summary, non-contact measurement, simple operating and high accuracy will be the trend of breast volume measurement in future.
