Abstract:
Objective To introduce the long-term outcomes of one-stage vaginoplasty with autologous buccal micromucosa .Methods We retrospectively reviewed our experiences with 133 patients who were treated with primary vaginoplasty from June 2006 to January 2017(97 Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser syndrome,36 sexual disorder disease ).All patients, in which the mean age was 25 years old ( range:16—32 year-old ) , underwent vaginoplasty with autologous buccal micromucosa .We describe the details of this technique and we also evaluate the long-term outcomes in anatomy, function, and sexuality. Results The mean operative time was 115 minutes (range:95—150 minutes).During a mean follow-up of 15 months (range:12—24 months), the mean period of postoperatively using vaginal stent was 11.7 ± 2.37months ( range: 9—15 months), the mean depth of the neovagina 9.0 ±0.68 cm ( range: 8—11 cm) , the mean circumference 11.5 ±1.28 cm ( range:10.0—14.5 cm) and the mean volume 103 ± 10 ml ( range:90—125 ml) .The mean female sexual function index score of the 72 sexually active patients was 28.9 ±2.5.No spouse reported discomfort during intercourse.Conclusions Vaginoplasty with autologous buccal micromucosa is an effective and feasible approach .
