Abstract: Codrug is a kind of prodrug compound formed by covalent combination of two or more pharmacologically active drug molecules,which is activated in vivo to release the original drug to play a therapeutic effect.This kind of drug design has the characteristics of synergistic efficacy,reducing incidence of adverse drug reactions,improving stability and pharmacokinetic characteristics,targeted release,etc.,but with the development of pharmaceutical technology,these characteristics are gradually replaced by other designs.This article will introduce the characteristics and application of co-drugs,and analyze the advantages,disadvantages and prospects of such drugs in drug development strategy.
