Abstract:
Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) is a low-grade malignant mucinous tumour, which can be classified under the category of "tympanites" in traditional Chinese medicine. It is believed that yang deficiency of the spleen and kidney is the basis of the pathogenesis of postoperative PMP patients, and cold-phlegm and water are the main pathological products of PMP. The focus of postoperative treatment of PMP is to improve the postoperative clinical symptoms and phlegm-dampness constitution of patients, and to control the recurrence of PMP is the main difficulty of the treatment. It is proposed that warming and supplementing the spleen and kidney, dissolving phlegm and draining water should be the main treatment principle, prescribed by modified Fuzi Lizhong Pill (附子理中丸) plus Zhenwu Decoction (真武汤), to achieve the purpose of improving the symptoms, enhancing the quality of life, and preventing the recurrence of the disease, and to provide ideas for postoperative treatment of PMP in clinic.
