- Abstract: The differences in ABO blood group are associated with the risk of a variety of diseases. There is still a lack of reviews on research progress on the association between the development and progression of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and ABO blood group. This paper outlines the pathogenesis of AD and the influences of body structure,abnormal function,and blood components on AD. This review also summarizes the molecular basis of ABO blood group and its effects on the body and disease. Moreover,this paper discusses the intrinsic correlation between AD and ABO blood group and the underlying mechanism,so as to provide ideas for the early diagnosis and prevention of AD.
