Abstract: Type Ⅲ acute acquired concomitant esotropia(AACE)often occurs in myopic patients after adolescence.Its exact mechanism is unclear,but it may be related to myopia,convergence-divergence imbalance,overregulation,de-compensation of esotropia,abnormal anatomical structure,and visual center dysfunction.Currently,the main treatment methods include surgery,creotoxin injection,triple prism correction,and visual function training.This article provides a comprehensive review of the pathogenesis and treatment progress of type Ⅲ AACE.
