- Abstract: Aim To investigate the protective effect of baicalin on renal fibrosis in rats with diabetic nephrop- III (Col- III) athy (DN) and to investigate its mechanism of action. Methods A rat model of diabetic nephropathy was constructed. The rats were randomly divided into control group, model group, baicalin low dose group, baicalin medium dose group, baicalin high dose group and metformin group, with 10 rats in each group. Except for the control group, all rats in each group were fed with streptozotocin 65 mg • kg -
