Abstract: As a pattern recognition receptor, CD36 antigen participates in a series of pathophysiological processes, and has well been documented in transfusion medicine. This article reviews the discovery, structure and expression of CD36, the type and frequency of CD36 antigen deletion, as well as the relationship between anti-CD36 and transfusion-related immune diseases.
