Sarin(GB)is a typical representative of nerve agents with high toxicity, and very low amount can cause death.GB can cause water and atmospheric environment poisoning,so the detection of GB in water and air is of great significance. In this work,a colorimetric sensor array(CSA)based on GB inhibition of cholinesterase activity was constructed to detect GB with high selectivity.A 4×4 colorimetric array was constructed using acetylcholinesterase(AChE),butyryl cholinesterase(BuChE)and the corresponding substrate acetylthiocholine iodide(S-ACh),butyryl thiocholine iodide(S-BCh),acetylcholine chloride(ACh),butyryl choline chloride(BCh)and 2,6-dichloroindophenol ethyl ester(DCIE).The linear curve of the sensor was Y=131.3×lgC+271.6(R2=0.997),where Y was the array response Euclidean distance,C was the concentration of GB(mg/L),the linear range was 0.03?0.32 mg/L,and the detection limit was 27.6 μg/L.The method could effectively distinguish chemical warfare agents(CWA)such as VX,Soman(GD),mustard gas(HD),Louie reagent(L),and had high anti-interference ability, sensitivity and good repeatability. It was successfully applied to the detection of GB in simulated water and simulated air samples, and the sample recovery rate was 97.2% ?100.9%.This method would be potentially applied to the field rapid detection of nerve agents.
2.Association between medium to long term ambient PM 2.5 exposure and overweight/obesity among primary and secondary school students
Chinese Journal of School Health 2025;46(7):937-940
Objective:
To investigate the association between medium to long term PM 2.5 exposure around school areas and overweight/obesity among primary and secondary school students in Guangxi, providing data support and theoretical foundations for scientifically addressing overweight and obesity in primary and secondary school students.
Methods:
From September to November 2023, a stratified cluster random sampling method was employed to select 251 183 students aged 7-18 years (grade 1 to grade 12) from 14 prefecture level cities (111 districts and counties) in Guangxi. PM 2.5 mass concentration data were obtained from the Tracking Air Pollution in China (TAP) dataset. Preliminary comparative analysis was conducted using the Mann-Whitney U test, while binary Logistic regression models were applied to quantify the relationship between PM 2.5 exposure and overweight/obesity. Restricted cubic spline analysis was further utilized to examine the nonlinear association between PM 2.5 concentration and overweight/obesity risk.
Results:
The detection rate of overweight/obesity among Guangxi students in 2023 was 19.5%. The median PM 2.5 concentration in the year prior to the study was higher in the overweight/obesity group (23.22 μg/m 3) compared to the non overweight/obesity group (22.63 μg/m 3) ( Z=-15.66, P <0.01), and consistent trends were observed across gender (male/female) and educational stage (primary/junior/senior high school) subgroups (all P <0.01). Binary Logistic regression revealed that for every 10 μg/m 3 increase in the annual average PM 2.5 concentration, the risk of overweight/obesity increased by 12% ( OR=1.12, 95%CI=1.09- 1.15 , P <0.01). Restricted cubic spline analysis indicated a nonlinear relationship between monthly PM 2.5 levels and overweight/obesity risk ( P trend <0.01). Below 22.68 μg/m 3, PM 2.5 exposure showed no significant association with obesity risk; above the threshold, the risk increased with rising PM 2.5 levels.
Conclusion
Medium to long term PM 2.5 exposure around school environments is significantly associated with overweight/obesity among primary and secondary school students.

BACKGROUND:
Modern acupuncture anesthesia is a combination of Chinese and Western medicine that integrates the theories of acupuncture with anesthesia. However, some clinical studies of acupuncture anesthesia lack specific descriptions of randomization, allocation concealment, and blinding processes, with subsequent systematic reviews indicating a risk of bias.
OBJECTIVE:
Clinical trial registration is essential for the enhancement of the quality of clinical trials. This study aims to summarize the status of clinical trial registrations for acupuncture anesthesia listed on the World Health Organization International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (ICTRP).
SEARCH STRATEGY:
We searched the ICTRP for clinical trials related to acupuncture anesthesia registered between January 1, 2001 and May 31, 2023. Additionally, related publications were retrieved from PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Science and Technology Journal Database, and Wanfang Data. Registrations and publications were analyzed for consistency in trial design characteristics.
INCLUSION CRITERIA:
Clinical trials that utilized one of several acupuncture-related therapies in combination with pharmacological anesthesia during the perioperative period were eligible for this review.
DATA EXTRACTION AND ANALYSIS:
Data extracted from articles included type of surgical procedure, perioperative symptoms, study methodology, type of intervention, trial recruitment information, and publication information related to clinical enrollment.
RESULTS:
A total of 166 trials related to acupuncture anesthesia from 21 countries were included in the analysis. The commonly reported symptoms in the included studies were postoperative nausea and vomiting (19.9%) and postoperative pain (13.3%). The concordance between the publications and the trial protocols in the clinical registry records was poor, with only 31.7% of the studies being fully compatible. Inconsistency rates were high for sample size (39.0%, 16/41), blinding (36.6%, 15/41), and secondary outcome indicators (24.4%, 10/41).
CONCLUSION
The volume of acupuncture anesthesia clinical trials registered in international trial registries over the last 20 years is low, with insufficient disclosure of results. Postoperative nausea and vomiting as well as postoperative pain, are the most investigated for acupuncture intervention. METHODS:
Between October 2022 and June 2023, a total of 59 patients with severe knee osteoarthritis resulting in varus were treated with total knee arthroplasty, aged from 59 to 81 years with an average (70.90±4.63) years, including 19 mals and 40 females. The patients were divided into two groups based on the surgical method used:28 patients in the robot group and 31 patients in the traditional group. The robot group consisted of 8 males and 20 femalse patients, with an average age of (70.54±4.80) years and an average disease duration of (14.89±8.72) months. The traditional group consisted of 11 males and 20 females patients, with an average age of (71.39±4.5) years and an average disease duration of (12.32±6.73) months. The operative duration, amount of bleeding during the operation, postoperative activity time after the operation, hip-knee-ankle angle (HKA), lateral distal femoral angle (LDFA), medial proximal tibial angle (MPTA), and complications were compared between the two groups before and after the operation. Lateral tibia component (LTC), frontal tibia component (FTC), frontal femoral component (FFC) and lateral femoral component (LFC) were measured 6 months after operation Additionally, the degree of knee joint motility, American Knee Society score (KSS), and visual analogue scale(VAS) were compared before and after the operation.
RESULTS:
All patients had gradeⅠwound healing without any complications, and all patients were followed up for 6 to 8 months, with an average of (6.5±1.5) months. There were no significant differences preoperative imaging evaluation indexes (including HKA, LDFA, and MPTA), preoperative knee mobility, preoperative VAS, and preoperative KSS between the two groups (P>0.05). Comparing the operation time (109.11±7.16) min vs. (83.90±7.85) min, length of the incision (16.60±2.33) cm vs. (14.47±1.41) cm, intraoperative bleeding (106.93±6.15) ml vs. (147.97±7.62) ml, postoperative activity time (17.86±1.84) h vs. (21.77±2.68) h, between the two groups showed statistically significant differences (P<0.05). There were significant differences in FFC (88.96±0.84)° vs. (87.93±1.09)° and LFC (88.57±1.10)° vs. (87.16±1.2)° between the two groups at 6 months after operation (P<0.05). The robotic group 1, 3, 6 months after KSS (75.96±3.96), (81.53±3.78), (84.50±3.29) scores, VAS (3.68±0.67), (2.43±0.79), (0.54±0.64), knee joint mobility (113.32±4.72) °, (123.93±3.99) °, (135.36±2.34) °;Traditional group KSS (73.77±4.18), (76.48±3.60), (80.19±3.28) scores, VAS (4.16±1.04), (3.03±0.75), (1.42±0.76) scores, knee joint mobility (109.19±6.95) °, (119.94±6.08) °, (134.48±2.14) °. Compared to before surgery, both groups showed significant improvement in KSS, VAS and knee mobility during the three follow-up visits (P<0.001). Additionally, postoperative HKA (180.39±1.95)° vs. (178.52±2.23)°, LDFA (89.67±0.63) ° vs. (89.63±0.63)°, and MPTA (89.44±0.55)° vs. (89.29±0.60)° were significantly improved in both groups compared to before surgery (P<0.001). The robotic group had higher KSS than the traditional group at 1, 3, and 6 months after surgery (P<0.05). The robotic group also had lower VAS than the traditional group at 1, 3, and 6 months after surgery (P<0.05). Cervical spine health issues not only seriously affect patients' quality of life but also impose a heavy burden on the social healthcare system. Existing guidelines lack sufficient clinical guidance on lifestyle and work habits, such as exercise, posture, daily routine, and diet, making it difficult to meet practical needs. To address this, relying on the China Association of Chinese Medicine, Wangjing Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences took the lead and joined hands with more than ten institutions to form a multidisciplinary guideline development group. For the first time, the group developed the Guidelines for Cervical Spine Health Intervention based on evidence-based medicine methods, strictly following the standardized procedures outlined in the World Health Organization Handbook for Guideline Development and the Guiding Principles for the Formulation/Revision of Clinical Practice Guidelines in China (2022 Edition). This proposal systematically explains the methods and steps for developing the guideline, aiming to make the guideline development process scientific, standardized, and transparent.

Objective To explore the effects of Shuanglu Tongnao Formula on neuroinflammation in ischemic stroke (IS) rats via the P2X purinoceptor 7 receptor (P2X7R)/NLR family pyrin domain-containing 3 (NLRP3) pathway. Methods The rats were divided into five groups: the IS group, control group, Shuanglu Tongnao Formula group, P2X7R inhibitor brilliant blue G (BBG) group, and Shuanglu Tongnao Formula combined with P2X7R activator adenosine triphosphate (ATP) group, with 18 rats in each group. Except for the control group, rats in all other groups were used to construct an IS model using the suture method. After successful modeling, the drug was given once a day for 2 weeks. Neurological function scores and cerebral infarction volume ratios were measured in rats. Pathological examination of the ischemic penumbra brain tissue was performed. Immunofluorescence staining was used to quantify the proportions of microglia co-expressing both inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and ionized calcium-binding adapter molecule 1 (Iba1), as well as arginase 1 (Arg1) and Iba1, in the ischemic penumbra brain tissue. ELISA was used to detect tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β), interleukin 6 (IL-6) and IL-10 in the ischemic penumbra brain tissue. Western blotting was used to measure P2X7R, NLRP3, and IL-1β proteins in the ischemic penumbra brain tissue. Results Compared with the control group, the IS group showed disordered neuronal arrangement, nuclear condensation, and obvious infiltration of inflammatory cells in the ischemic penumbra; significantly elevated neurological function scores, cerebral infarction volume ratios, proportions of microglia co-expressing iNOS and Iba1, and levels of TNF-α, IL-6, and P2X7R, NLRP3, IL-1β proteins; along with reduced proportions of microglia co-expressing Arg1 and Iba1 and levels of TGF-β and IL-10. Compared with the IS group, the Zhuang medicine Shuanglu Tongnao Formula and BBG groups demonstrated alleviated brain tissue damage; reduced neurological function scores, cerebral infarction volume ratios, proportions of microglia co-expressing iNOS and Iba1, and levels of TNF-α, IL-6, and P2X7R, NLRP3, IL-1β proteins; along with increased proportions of microglia co-expressing Arg1 and Iba1 and levels of TGF-β and IL-10. ATP reversed the effects of Zhuang medicine Shuanglu Tongnao Formula on microglial polarization and neuroinflammation in IS rats. Conclusion Zhuang medicine Shuanglu Tongnao Formula may promote the transformation of microglia from M1 type to M2 type by inhibiting the P2X7R/NLRP3 pathway, thereby improving neuroinflammation in IS rats.

OBJECTIVES:
To determine the pharmacological impact of hesperidin, the main component of Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, on depressive behavior and elucidate the mechanism by which hesperidin treats depression, focusing on the gut-brain axis.
METHODS:
Fifty-four Sprague Dawley male rats were randomly allocated to 6 groups using a random number table, including control, model, hesperidin, probiotics, fluoxetine, and Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium groups. Except for the control group, rats in the remaining 5 groups were challenged with chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) for 21 days and housed in single cages. The sucrose preference test (SPT), immobility time in the forced swim test (FST), and number in the open field test (OFT) were performed to measure the behavioral changes in the rats. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to determine the levels of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in brain tissue, and the histopathology was performed to evaluate the changes of colon tissue, together with sequencing of the V3-V4 regions of 16S rRNA gene on feces to explore the changes of intestinal flora in the rats.
RESULTS:
Compared to the control group, the rats in the model group showed notable reductions in body weight, SPF, and number in OFT (P<0.01). Hesperidin was found to ameliorate depression induced by CUMS, as seen by improvements in body weight, SPT, immobility time in FST, and number in OFT (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Regarding neurotransmitters, it was found that at a dose of 50 mg/kg hesperidin treatment upregulated the levels of 5-HT and BDNF in depressed rats (P<0.05). Compared to the control group, the colon tissue of the model group exhibited greater inflammatory cell infiltration, with markedly reduced numbers of goblet cells and crypts and were significantly improved following treatment with hesperidin. Simultaneously, the administration of hesperidin demonstrated a positive impact on the gut microbiome of rats treated with CUMS, such as Shannon index increased and Simpson index decreased (P<0.01), while the abundance of Pseudomonadota and Bacteroidota increased in the hesperidin-treated group (P<0.05).
CONCLUSION
The mechanism responsible for the beneficial effects of hesperidin on depressive behavior in rats may be related to inhibition of the expressions of BDNF and 5-HT and preservation of the gut microbiota.
