Perimenopausal depression （PMD） is an affective disorder that occurs in women during the transition from sexual maturity to old age. It can induce various complications， such as insomnia and cognitive decline. The etiology of PMD is complex. Although multiple hypotheses have been proposed， there is still no unified theory that fully explains its pathogenesis. Research into its mechanisms relies heavily on animal experiments， and establishing reliable animal models is crucial for experimental studies. Appropriate animal models can better simulate human pathophysiological states， rapidly evaluate the efficacy and safety of drugs and intervention methods， grasp the essence of the disease， and uncover its intrinsic connections， thereby exploring more advanced intervention strategies. However， there is a lack of systematic review and summarization of literature related to model construction. Additionally， traditional Chinese medicine （TCM）， adhering to the principles of ''syndrome differentiation and treatment'' and ''holistic concept''， has shown significant efficacy in treating PMD. In recent years， research exploring and analyzing its therapeutic mechanisms has been increasing. Therefore， to gain a clearer and more comprehensive understanding of PMD animal modeling methods and the mechanisms of TCM， this paper reviewed Chinese and English literature on PMD animal models and mechanisms of TCM in PMD treatment. It summarized the construction methods of single-factor and multi-factor PMD models， and discussed the advantages and disadvantages of each modeling approach. Furthermore， it delved into the mechanisms of TCM intervention in PMD， revealing that TCM formulas primarily exert their effects by regulating the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis， hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis， gut-brain axis， cell signaling pathways， neural circuits， hormone levels， and neurotransmitter levels. This review aims to provide a reference for future research in this field. In summary， by summarizing the progress in the methods for PMD animal model construction and the mechanisms of TCM， the paper seeks to offer new insights into the mechanistic research of TCM intervention in PMD.

Objective:To investigate the completion rate of tumor evaluation at initial assessment and after neoadjuvant therapy for mid and low rectal cancer patients in the national multicenter real-world database.Methods:The prospective real-world study was conducted. The clinicopathological data of 1 074 patients who underwent surgical treatment for mid and low rectal cancer in 47 national medical institutions, including Peking Union Medical College Hospital et al, from May 12,2023 to May 11,2024 were collected. Observation indicators: (1) clinical characteristics of patients with mid and low rectal cancer; (2) initial colonoscopy and pathologic evaluation of tumors in patients with mid and low rectal cancer; (3) initial imaging evaluation of patients with mid and low rectal cancer; (4) imaging evaluation after neoadjuvant therapy for patients with mid and low rectal cancer. Measurement data with normal distribution were represented as Mean± SD, and measurement data with skewed distribution were represented as M( Q1, Q3). Count data were described as absoluter numbers and/or percentages. Results:(1) Clinical characteristics of patients with mid and low rectal cancer. Of the 1 074 patients, there were 713 males and 361 females, aged 63(56,70)years. The body mass index of 1 074 patients was 24(21,26)kg/m 2.For American Society of Anesthesiologists classification, there were 147 cases of stage Ⅰ, 641 cases of stage Ⅱ, 157 cases of stage Ⅲ, 2 cases of stage Ⅳ, and there were 127 cases missing data. (2) Initial colonoscopy and pathologic evaluation of tumors in patients with mid and low rectal cancer. Of the 1 074 patients, there were 787 cases (73.28%) undergoing complete colonoscopy, and there were only 197 cases (18.34%) undergoing immunohistochemical evaluation of all four mismatch repair proteins. (3) Initial imaging evaluation of patients with mid and low rectal cancer. Of the 1 074 patients, there were 842(78.40%) patients completing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or ultrasound evaluation, and there were 914(85.10%) patients completing chest, abdomen, and pelvis enhanced computed tomography (CT) evaluation. In the 149 patients completing rectal ultrasound evaluation, there were 122 cases (81.88%) comple-ting T staging evaluation, and there were 81 cases (54.36%) completing N staging evaluation. In the 808 patients completing rectal MRI evaluation, there were 708 cases (87.62%) completing T staging evaluation, and there were 590 cases (73.02%) completing N staging evaluation. (4) Imaging evalua-tion after neoadjuvant therapy for patients with mid and low rectal cancer. Of the 388 patients with neoadjuvant therapy, there were 332 patients (85.57%) completing MRI or ultrasound evaluation, and there were 327 patients (84.28%) completing chest, abdomen, and pelvis enhanced CT evalua-tion. In the 70 patients completing rectal ultrasound evaluation, there were 65 cases (92.86%) com-pleting T staging evaluation, and there were 49 cases (70.00%) completing N staging evaluation. In the 327 patients completing rectal MRI evaluation, there were 246 cases (75.23%) completing T staging, and there were 228 cases (69.72%) completing N staging evaluation. Conclusion:The com-pletion rate of tumor imaging evaluation at initial assessment and after neoadjuvant therapy for mid and low rectal cancer patients on a national scale is relatively good.

Objective To analyze the infection and drug resistance of Ureaplasma urealyticum(UU),Mycoplasma hominis(MH)and Chlamydia trachomatis(CT)in 2324 patients,and to provide reference for the prevention and treatment of nongonococcal infections in urogenital tract.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 2324 patients diagnosed and treated at Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital,Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University Medical School from February 2021 to April 2022.UU and MH were detected by liquid culture method and drug sensitivity tests were carried out,and CT was detected by latex method,and the results were statistically analyzed.Results A total of 1006 positive patients were detected,with a total positive rate of 43.3％.The positive rate in female patients significantly higher than that in male patients(x2=68.888,P＜0.001).Among them,the positive detection rates of UU,MH and CT were 40.8％,10.0％and 1.8％respectively.Among patients with single infection,the UU positive detection rate was the highest(31.8％).The positive rate of UU in female patients was significantly higher than that in male patients(x2=70.417,P＜0.001).Among patients with mixed infections,the positive detection rate of UU+MH was the highest(8.2％).The age groups with the highest positive rates of UU,MH and CT were 41-50 years old,≤ 20 years old and 21-30 years old respectively.Results of drug sensitivity test showed that mycoplasma were highly sensitive to doxycycline,minocycline and josamycin,with the sensitivity rates of 97.2％,96.9％and 95.4％respectively.Conclusion Young and middle-aged people are the main population with nongonococcal infection in urogenital tract.UU is the main pathogen detected,and the detection rate of female is higher than that of male.According to the drug sensitivity results of mycoplasma,it is suggested to choose doxycycline,minocycline and josamycin for treatment.

Objective To explore clinical effect of accessory scaphoid bone fusion in treating type Ⅱ painful accessory scaphoid bone.Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on 26 patients with type Ⅱ painful accessory navicular bone treated by accessory navicular bone fusion from January 2012 to June 2022,including 1 male and 25 females,aged from 18 to 70 years old with an average of(44.61±16.32)years old;10 patients with type Ⅱ A and 16 patients with type Ⅱ B;20 patients with simple fusion and 6 patients with fusion plus calcaneal translocation osteotomy.Changes of Meary angle,Pitch angle,an-teroposterior talar-first metatarsal angle(T1MA),talonavicular coverage angle(TCA),lateral talocalcaneal angle(LTCA)be-fore operation and 6 months after operation were observed and compared,and American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society(AOFAS)foot and ankle score and visual analogue scale(VAS)were used to explore clinical effect.Results All 26 patients were followed up for 7 to 24 months with an average of(10.72±3.94)months.Meary angle,Pitch angle,T1MA,TCA and LTCA were improved from(9.20±2.57)°,(16.45±3.57)°,(33.34±5.02)°,(22.42±5.86)°,(48.89±4.43)° before opertaion to(3.33±1.06)°,(22.33±4.56)°,(23.89±3.48)°,(11.83±2.67)°,(36.50±3.50)° at 6 months after operation,the difference were statistically significant(P＜0.01).Postoperative AOFAS foot and ankle score were(86.24±4.33)and(93.18±6.02)for type Ⅱ A and type Ⅱ B at 6 months,which were significantly improved compared with those for type Ⅱ A and type Ⅱ B before op-eration(67.34±6.55)and(65.12±9.51),and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.01);20 patients got excellent re-sult,5 good and 1 poor.Preoperative VAS of type ⅡA(5.67±1.58)and type Ⅱ B(5.77±1.49)were improved to(2.13±1.01)and(1.43±0.68)at 6 months after operation,with statistical significance(P＜0.01).Conclusion Fusion of accessory navicular bone in patients with type Ⅱ painful accessory navicular bone combined with internal calcaneal osteotomy in patients with par-tial calcaneal valvaration could effectively correct flat foot deformity and relieve pain,and could be used as a clinical treatment for painful accessory navicular bone.

Objective To explore the relationship between dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging(DCE-MRI)and clinical pathological features of invasive breast cancer and lymphovascular invasion(LVI).Methods Imaging and clinical pathological data were retrospectively collected from 508 patients with invasive breast cancer who underwent breast DCE-MRI at the First Medical Center of Chinese PLA General Hospital from January 2019 to August 2021.Patients were divided into the LVI-positive(LVI+)group(n=79)and LVI-negative(LVI-)group(n=429)based on postoperative pathological results.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to identify risk factors for LVI.Results Compared with LVI-group,LVI+group had a higher proportion of patients aged<45 years(44.3%vs.27.0%,P=0.002),non-mass-like enhancement(NME)(31.7%vs.17.7%,P=0.004),Ki-67 expression rate(40.0%vs.30.0%,P<0.001),high Ki-67 expression(94.9%vs.78.1%,P=0.001),Luminal B subtype(76.0%vs.60.1%,P=0.008),and positive axillary lymph nodes rate(72.2%vs.31.5%,P<0.001),while the proportion of Luminal A subtype was lower(2.5%vs.21.5%,P<0.001).Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that age≥45 years(OR=0.468,95%CI 0.280-0.783,P=0.004)was an independent protective factor for LVI,while NME(OR=1.987,95%CI 1.126-3.444,P=0.016)was an independent risk factor.Compared with Luminal A subtype,patients with Luminal B subtype(OR=10.482,95%CI 3.164-64.923,P=0.001),HER-2 overexpression subtype(OR=11.571,95%CI 2.755-79.341,P=0.003)and triple-negative subtypes(OR=8.433,95%CI 1.985-57.908,P=0.009)had a higher risk of LVI.Conclusions Age≥45 years is an independent protective factor for LVI,while NME is an independent risk factor.Among molecular subtypes,patients with Luminal B,HER-2 overexpression and triple-negative subtypes have a higher risk of LVI compared with the Luminal A subtype.

Objective To investigate the population composition,seasonal dynamics,and infestation levels of cockroaches in Lanzhou,China,and to provide information for the scientific development of cockroach control strategies.Methods Monitoring was conducted at three locations using the sticky trap method.Habitats included farm product markets,catering establishments,hotels,hospitals,and residential areas.Results From 2016 to 2023,the average cockroach density was 0.77 insects per board,with an average infestation rate of 10.84%.Blattella germanica was the dominant species.Seasonal density of cockroaches showed an approximately unimodal distribution,peaking in September.The highest average density and infestation rates were observed in farm product markets.Conclusions Cockroach density and infestation levels in Lanzhou remained relatively low.A comprehensive prevention and control strategy focusing on environmental management in key areas should be implemented according to the seasonal fluctuations.

Objective:To investigate the clinical manifestation, therapy, and prognosis of Susac syndrome and enhance the understanding of this disease.Methods:A case summary was made.The clinical data of two siblings with Susac syndrome treated at Children′s Medical Center, Peking University First Hospital in January 2024 were summarized.Reported cases of pediatric Susac syndrome were reviewed.Results:The onset of the disease in the two siblings was at the age of 3.00 and 6.75 years, with recurrent headaches, tinnitus, hearing loss and encephalopathy symptoms.Cranial magnetic resonance imaging showed multiple cerebral microbleeding and microinfarction lesions, " snowball like" in the corpus callosum and diffuse white matter edema in the brain.Audiometry revealed sensorineural hearing loss.In one case, ophthalmic fluorescein angiography revealed ischemic changes due to branch retinal artery occlusions.No pathogenic variants were detected in gene testing.This child was diagnosed with Susac syndrome, and the symptoms were improved after treatment with Corticosteroids and Rituximab.No relapse was observed during the 9-month follow-up.A total of 20 pediatric cases of Susac syndrome were retrieved, including 18 reported previously and 2 cases from this study.There were 2 boys and 18 girls, with the age of onset ranging from 2.5 to 17.0 years.The common initial symptoms included headache (19 cases), vertigo and tinnitus or hearing loss (9 cases), and vision impairment or visual field defect (4 cases). The symptoms were improved after immunotherapy.Conclusions:With a low incidence, Susac syndrome is rare in children and difficult to diagnose.There may be a genetic predisposition in such disease.Early diagnosis and immunotherapy can low the relapse and improve the prognosis.

Objective:To gain an in-depth understanding of the career development of male nurses in China, analyze trends, challenges, and opportunities, and provide a basis for policy-making, talent cultivation, and professional development in the nursing field.Methods:A descriptive qualitative research method was adopted. From March 29th to July 30th, 2023, the heads of the male nurses working groups of nursing associations in 26 regions of China were selected by purposive sampling method for semi-structured interviews. Content analysis was used to analyze the data.Results:The current situation of the career development of male nurses in China could be summarized into the following three themes. (1) Current situation: the organizational structure of provincial-level male nurses work was basically complete, but there were obvious differences at the grassroots level; the work was carried out in various forms, and diverse models developed in coordination; (2) Trends: there were obvious stratifications in professional ideology and professional abilities of male nurses among different regions and different-level medical institutions; the gender dividend was gradually decreasing, and male nurses should give play to their advantages in logical thinking ability; (3) Prospects: early intervention was needed to enhance professional identity and organizational support; male nurses should be trained in various aspects through multiple forms such as counterpart assistance, expert databases or online academic forums; interdisciplinary development might be the key to stimulating internal driving force.Conclusions:Significant progress has been made in the career development of male nurses in China, but there are still challenges and issues to address. Further improvements in related policies, enhancement of social recognition and professional status, and increased investment and support in research and education are needed to promote the sustained development of male nursing careers.
