Objective To systematically evaluate the radiation impact of radioactive sources used in online elemental analyzers in cement enterprises on the surrounding environment, and to provide a scientific basis for radiation monitoring and safety management at the application sites of this type of radioactive sources. Methods A statistical analysis was conducted on 15 cement enterprises in Guangxi Province using online elemental analyzers with 252Cf as the radioactive source. On-site investigation of radiation safety management and on-site monitoring of radiation environment were performed, followed by an evaluation based on the collected data. Results Although the gamma radiation ambient dose equivalent rate and neutron ambient dose equivalent rate increased around the sites using online elemental analyzers with 252Cf as the radioactive source, they all met the requirements of the Radiological Health Protection Requirements for Instruments with Sealed Sources (GBZ 125—2009). Conclusion Under the current usage and management conditions, the application of this type of radioactive sources has controllable radiation impact on the surrounding environment, and will not pose a threat to public health and environmental safety. However, continuous strengthening of radiation safety management measures and regular radiation monitoring work are still needed to ensure the safe use of radioactive sources, further reducing potential radiation risks and providing strong guarantees for the safe application of radioactive sources in online elemental analyzers in cement enterprises.

Objective To explore the postmortem diffusion rule of Aconitum alkaloids and their metabo-lites in poisoned rabbits, and to provide a reference for identifying the antemortem poisoning or post-mortem poisoning of Aconitum alkaloids. Methods Twenty-four rabbits were sacrificed by tracheal clamps. After 1 hour, the rabbits were administered with aconitine LD50 in decocting aconite root powder by intragastric administration. Then, they were placed supine and stored at 25℃.The biological samples from 3 randomly selected rabbits were collected including heart blood, peripheral blood, urine, heart, liver, spleen, lung and kidney tissues at 0 h,4 h,8 h,12 h,24 h,48 h,72 h and 96 h after intragastric administration, respectively.Aconitum alkaloids and their metabolites in the biological samples were ana-lyzed by high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(HPLC-MS/MS).Results At 4 h after intragastric administration,Aconitum alkaloids and their metabolites could be detected in heart blood, peripheral blood and major organs, and the contents of them changed dynamically with the preservation time. The contents of Aconitum alkaloids and their metabolites were higher in the spleen, liver and lung, especially in the spleen which was closer to the stomach. The average mass fraction of benzoylmesaconine metabolized in rabbit spleen was the highest at 48 h after intragastric administration. In contrast, the contents of Aconitum alkaloids and their metabolites in kidney were all lower.Aconi-tum alkaloids and their metabolites were not detected in urine. Conclusion Aconitum alkaloids and their metabolites have postmortem diffusion in poisoned rabbits, diffusing from high-content organs(stomach)to other major organs and tissues as well as the heart blood. The main mechanism is the dispersion along the concentration gradient, while urine is not affected by postmortem diffusion, which can be used as the basis for the identification of antemortem and postmortem Aconitum alkaloids poisoning.

Sepsis is a condition characterized by organ dysfunction resulting from the systemic inflammatory response triggered by an infection. Excessive inflammation and immunosuppression are intertwined, and severe cases may even develop into multiple organ failure. Studies have shown that indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1-mediated tryptophan metabolism is involved in the occurrence and development of sepsis, and elevated plasma kynurenine levels and Kyn/Trp ratios are early indicators of sepsis development. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive summary of the role of IDO1 in the acute inflammatory phase of sepsis, late immunosuppression, and organ damage. This includes its regulation of inflammatory state, immune cell function, blood pressure, and other aspects. Additionally, we analyze preclinical studies on targeted IDO1 drugs. An in-depth understanding and study of IDO may help to understand the pathogenesis and clinical significance of sepsis and multiple organ damage from a new perspective and provide new research ideas for exploring its prevention and treatment methods.

Aim To investigate the effects of ber-bamine on behavioral changes in LPS-induced chronic neuroinflammation model mice and the related mecha-nisms.Methods By injecting lipopolysaccharide in-traperitoneally for seven days in a row, berbamine was given intraperitoneally as a treatment;the behavioral studies of mice in each group were identified;Nissen staining was used to observe the changes in the patho-logical morphology of the mouse hippocampus and the expression levels of inflammation-related proteins. These procedures established a mouse neuroinflamma-tion model. Results The number of neurons in the model group's hippocampal CA1 and CA3 regions was significantly smaller than that in the control group. In the water maze experiment,as the number of training days grew, the model group's escape latency increased and its retention time in the target quadrant dropped. The immobilization period of the model group mice in-creased during the forced swimming exercise.Serum levels of inflammatory factors such as IL-1β,IL-6,and TNF-α levels were also higher. The hippocampus tis-sue of the mice in the model group had higher levels of NLRP3,ASC,caspase-1,IL-18,ROCK1,ROCK2 ex-pression,and RHOA.When compared to the model group, the administration of berbamine was a therapy intervention. In the meantime, with the number of training days increased, the target quadrant lag time increased and the escape latency gradually decreased.Additionally, the model group's mice spent less time resting during forced swimming, and the serum inflam-matory factors TNF-α,IL-1β,and IL-6 decreased in mouse hippocampal tissues.Lastly, the expression lev-els of NLRP3,caspase-1,ASC,IL-1β,ROCK1,ROCK2,and RHOA all decreased in mouse hippocam-pal tissue. Conclusions The mechanism of action of berbamine, which improves lipopolysaccharide-induced depressive-like behaviors and modifies learning memory in mice, may include the NLRP3 and RHOA/ROCK signaling pathways.
