Objective To extract and summarize the clinical registration information of periodontitis registered in the US ClinicalTrials.gov and Chinese Clinical Trial Registry(ChiCTR),and further analyze the registration characteristics of periodontitis clinical trials. Methods The ClinicalTrials.gov and ChiCTR data-bases were searched and compiled for periodontitis clinical registration information from 2000 to December 26,2024,including registration number,country/region of registration, annual number of registered projects, sample size, study type and design, study phase, and trial progress status. Results As of December 26,2024,a total of 520 242 registered clinical trials were retrieved from the ClinicalTrials.gov registry platform,of which 1 542(0.30%)were related to periodontitis. There were 189(12.26%)studies on periodontitis-related pro-jects in Turkey, while a total of 37(2.4%)projects were initiated by researchers in China, which ranked ninth. The Chinese Clinical Trial Register(ChiCTR)had 92 954 registered projects,of which 165 were on pe-riodontitis,and most of them were conducted by well-known affiliated hospitals and stomatology hospitals. The number of registrations in the ClinicalTrials.gov database increased year by year and reached a peak in 2022(146 registrations).Trial designs were focused on interventional and observational studies.ClinicalTri-als.gov study phases were focused on phases 2 and 4,while ChiCTR was clustered at phase 0(pre-registra-tion).Conclusion The number of clinical registrations for periodontitis in China's database is relatively low,and despite a steady upward trend, there is still a gap compared with other countries internationally.Future re-search should focus on how to encourage more oral health related research institutions to register on the plat-form and how to increase the sample size.
3.Advance in diagnosis and treatment of neonatal fluid overload
International Journal of Pediatrics 2025;52(5):305-309
When rescuing critically sick newborns, infusion remains one of the vital interventions. The main purpose of infusion is to maintain effective circulatory volume and to improve oxygen supply of tissues, whereas fluid overload(FO)might aggravate the patients' condition.Furthermore, due to the immature functions of various organs and the early physiological weight loss in newborns,FO is prevalent among critically sick newborns, and it is highly likely to be associated with organ dysfunction and adverse clinical outcomes. At present, the management of childhood FO is still controversial, and few researches were reported on neonatal FO.This article reviews the pathogenesis, management, evaluation and intervention of neonatal FO.

Objective:To explore changes of acid-base metabolism in the brain tissue of patients with chronic ischemic cerebrovascular disease (CICVD) using MRI amide proton transfer-weighted (APTw) imaging. Methods:This was a cross-sectional study. From January 2021 to July 2022, thirty-nine patients with CICVD at West China Hospital, Sichuan University were retrospectively included. All patients received CT perfusion (CTP) and APTw imaging. NeuBrainCARE brain perfusion software was used to analyze the impaired perfusion sites and measure the mean transit time (MTT) and time to peak (TTP). Standard spatial matching between CTP and APTw images was performed to measure the APTw values of the same sites. For comparison with normal tissue, APTw values were measured for normal-appearing white matter (NAWM) in the ipsilateral cerebral hemisphere, the contralateral cerebral hemisphere, and the ipsilateral cerebellar hemisphere in areas of impaired perfusion. ANOVA was used to compare the APTw values of impaired perfusion brain tissue, ipsilateral cerebral NAWM, contralateral cerebral NAWM, and ipsilateral cerebellar NAWM. The Bonferroni method was used to correct for multiple comparisons. Pearson correlation coefficient was used to analyze the correlation between APTw values and MTT and TTP in the cerebral tissue with impaired perfusion. Results:In 39 patients with CICVD, both the mean and minimum APTw values of cerebral tissue with impaired perfusion were significantly lower than those in the NAWM of the ipsilateral cerebral hemisphere, the contralateral cerebral hemisphere, and the ipsilateral cerebellar hemisphere ( P<0.001). In the NAWM of the cerebellar hemispheres with unimpaired perfusion, both the mean and minimum APTw values were significantly higher than those in the ipsilateral cerebral hemispheres and the contralateral cerebral hemisphere ( P<0.001). Correlation analysis showed that MTT was significantly negatively correlated with both the mean APTw and the minimum APTw ( r values were -0.90 and -0.82, P<0.001). TTP was significantly negatively correlated with both the mean APTw and the minimum APTw ( r values were -0.86 and -0.78, P<0.001). Conclusion:APTw value can reflect acidosis in cerebral tissue with impaired perfusion in patients with CICVD.
8.A consensus on the management of allergy in kindergartens and primary schools
Chinese Journal of School Health 2023;44(2):167-172
Abstract
Allergic diseases can occur in all systems of the body, covering the whole life cycle, from children to adults and to old age, can be lifelong onset and even fatal in severe cases. Children account for the largest proportion of the victims of allergic disease, Children s allergies start from scratch, ranging from mild to severe, from less to more, from single to multiple systems and systemic performance, so the prevention and treatment of allergic diseases in children is of great importance, which can not only prevent high risk allergic conditions from developing into allergic diseases, but also further block the process of allergy. At present, there is no consensus on the management system of allergic children in kindergartens and primary schools. The "Consensus on Allergy Management and Prevention in Kindergartens and Primary Schools", which includes the organizational structure, system construction and management of allergic children, provides evidence informed recommendations for the long term comprehensive management of allergic children in kindergartens and primary schools, and provides a basis for the establishment of the prevention system for allergic children.

ObjectiveTo compare the efficacy and safety of acupuncture combined with auricular acupoints patches and nicotine transdermal patch in treating moderate to severe nicotine dependence. MethodsIn a rando-mized controlled trial, 64 quit smoking voluntary subjects with moderate to severe nicotine dependence were randomly divided at a ratio of 1∶1 into a treatment group and a control group, with 32 cases in each group. The treatment group was given acupuncture combined with auricular acupoints patches, twice weekly, four weeks as a course for two courses. The control group was given nicotine transdermal patch, one patch per day for 24 hours, 8 weeks. The cure rate was assessed after treatment and at follow-up (the 16th week after treatment). The daily smoking volume, exhaled carbon monoxide (CO) value, Nicotine Dependence Scale (FTND), Minnesota Nicotine Withdrawal Symptoms Scale (MNWS), and Pittsburgh Sleepiness Index Inventory (PSQI) were evaluated before and after treatment and at follow-up, and adverse effects were recorded. ResultsIn terms of the cure rate, there were both six cured cases (20%) after treatment and at follow-up in the treatment group, while in the control group, seven (23.3%) and five (16.7%) patients were cured after treatment and at follow-up, respectively, with no statistically significant differences between the two groups both after treatment and at follow-up (P>0.05). The daily smoking volume and exhaled CO value significantly decreased after treatment and at follow-up in both groups (P<0.05), but were not significantly different between the groups after treatment and at follow-up (P>0.05). After treatment and at follow-up, FTND, MNWS, and PSQI scores were significantly reduced in both groups compared with those before treatment (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the FTND scale scores between the two groups after treatment and at follow-up (P>0.05), while the MNWS and PSQI scale scores were lower in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.05). ConclusionAcupuncture combined with auricular acupoint patches for moderate to severe nicotine dependence has comparable effect with the first-line drug nicotine patch in terms of increasing the cure rate and decreasing the degree of nicotine dependence, and is superior to nicotine patch in terms of relieving withdrawal symptoms and improving sleep, with stable long-term effect.
