Early correction of childhood malocclusion is timely managing morphological, structural, and functional abnormalities at different dentomaxillofacial developmental stages. The selection of appropriate imaging examination and comprehensive radiological diagnosis and analysis play an important role in early correction of childhood malocclusion. This expert consensus is a collaborative effort by multidisciplinary experts in dentistry across the nation based on the current clinical evidence, aiming to provide general guidance on appropriate imaging examination selection, comprehensive and accurate imaging assessment for early orthodontic treatment patients.

Neurogastroenterology and motility disorders of the upper gastrointestinal (GI) tract represent a complex and heterogeneous group of conditions that involve the interaction between the GI tract and the central nervous system. They constitute a significant number of outpatient gastroenterology visits, resulting in a high healthcare burden. These disorders often occur in the absence of identifiable structural causes on routine endoscopy and radiological imaging. A more targeted approach in the assessment of functional GI disorders is increasingly being integrated into routine clinical practice, given the recent advancements in technology and physiologic testing. When used in the appropriate clinical context, these tests not only elucidate the physiological basis for the patient's symptoms, but also prevent inappropriate treatment and repeated investigations. This review aims to summarise the advances in clinically available diagnostic tools for the evaluation of upper GI functional disorders.

3.A prospective study of impact of spicy food intake on risk for cardio/cerebrovascular disease in residents aged 30-79 years

Objective:To explore the association between spicy food intake and the risk for cardio/cerebrovascular diseases.Methods:Data were collected from the China Kadoorie Biobank project conducted in Pengzhou, Sichuan Province. Using the Cox proportional hazards regression model, we analyzed the associations of the frequency of spicy food intake, spicy level, types of spicy food, and the age when regular intake of spicy food began (intake in 1 day/week), with the risk for cardio/cerebrovascular disease. Furthermore, the associations with the risks for ischemic heart disease (IHD) and cerebrovascular diseases, as well as the risk of ischemic stroke (IS) and hemorrhagic stroke (HS) were analyzed.Results:A total of 54 859 study participants were included in the study, in whom 49 320 had spicy food intake (89.90%). In these participants, 37 680 (68.69%) had spicy food intake in 6-7 days/week, 5 036 (9.18%) had spicy food intake in 1-5 days/week, and 6 604 (12.03%) had spicy food intake once a week; 5 539 (10.10%) had never/almost never had spicy food intake. After adjusting for multiple confounding factors, compared with those who never/almost never had spicy food intake, intake of spicy food was associated with reduced risks for IHD (intake in 6-7 days/week: HR=0.86, 95% CI: 0.78-0.95), cerebrovascular diseases (intake in 6-7 days/week: HR=0.88, 95% CI: 0.81-0.96), and IS (intak in 6-7 days/week: HR=0.85, 95% CI: 0.76-0.95). With the increase of spicy food intake frequency, the risk for cardio/cerebrovascular disease decreased (intake in 1-5 days/week: HR=0.91, 95% CI: 0.85-0.98; intake in 6-7 days/week: HR=0.89, 95% CI: 0.84-0.94) (trend test P<0.001). However, no statistical association was found between spicy food intake and the risk for HS. In terms of spicy level, after adjusting for multiple confounding factors, compared with those who never/almost never had spicy food intake, intake of spicy food was associated with reduced risk for cardio/cerebrovascular disease (moderate: HR=0.86, 95% CI: 0.82-0.90) and cerebrovascular disease (moderate: HR=0.90, 95% CI: 0.84-0.97). With the increase of spicy level, the risk for IHD decreased (moderate: HR=0.86, 95% CI: 0.79-0.93; strong: HR=0.84, 95% CI: 0.74-0.95) (trend test P<0.001). Objective To explore the application value of CT combined with peripheral blood eosinophils(EOS)for distinguishing eosinophilic asthma(EA)from eosinophilic bronchitis(EB).Methods The clinical characteristics,peripheral blood EOS detection and imaging features of 523 patients(328 cases of EA and 195 cases of EB)were retrospectively analyzed.Univariate analysis identi-fied statistically significant parameters,which were further utilized in binary logistic regression to construct an imaging model and a combined model incorporating clinical characteristics,peripheral blood EOS and imaging features.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves were plotted to evaluate the performance of each model.Results Statistically significant differences were observed between the two groups in age,body mass index(BMI),peripheral blood EOS count,peripheral blood EOS percentage,and 11 ima-ging features,including bilateral lung,bronchial wall thickening and bronchial mucus plugs(P<0.05).The area under the curve(AUC)of the imaging model and the combined model were 0.891 and 0.918,respectively.Conclusion The combined application of CT and peripheral blood EOS detection can improve the efficiency,simplicity,and accessibility of distinguishing EA from EB.

7.Relationship between HLA⁃A rs3132682 and susceptibility to hepatocellular carcinoma in Yanbian area

Objective:
To study the relationship between the single nucleotide polymorphism of HLA⁃A rs3132682 and the risk of liver cancer.
Methods:
The author selected 291 cases of liver cancer patients in Yanbian area as the experimental group and 272 healthy people as the control group. The genotypes and allele frequencies of the two loci were detected by MassARRAY SNPS mass spectrometry. Odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated by unconditional logistic regression to evaluate the risk of liver cancer in patients with different genotypes.
Results:
There were G and C alleles in HLA⁃A rs3132682 locus , GG , GC and CC genotype. After adjusting for confounding factors in HLA⁃A rs3132682 locus , there was correlation between CC genotype and the risk of liver cancer compared with GG genotype (P < 0. 05) . Stratification analysis showed that compared with the population with CG + GG genotype , the Korean population with CC genotype increased the risk of liver cancer by 3. 331 times.
Conclusion
The single nucleotide polymorphism of HLA⁃A rs3132682 is correlated with the risk of liver cancer in Yanbian area.
8.The alterations of PGC-1α expression and epigenetic modifications in the retina of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats

Objective To investigate the role of epigenetic regulations of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ coactivator 1α (PGC-1α) in the development of diabetic retinopathy and the metabolic memory phenomenon after hyperglycemia was terminated.Methods Diabetic rat model was established by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (STZ).Sixty diabetic rats were randomly divided into 3 groups,poor glycemic control group rats were maintained in poor glycemic control for 4 months;semi glycemic control group rats were maintained in poor glycemic control for 2 months,followed by good glycemic control for 2 additional months;good glycemic control group rats were maintained in good glycemic control for 4 months.Twenty normal rats served as control group.The mRNA expression of PGC-1α and superoxide dismutase 2 (SOD2) of retina were measured by real-time PCR;the expression of PGC-1α and manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD) protein were measured by Western blot;the situation of DNA methylation in the promotor region of PPARGC1A was measured by bisulfite sequencing.Results The body-weight in the control group was significantly higher than that in the poor glycemic control group,semi glycemic control group and good glycemic control group (all at P =0.000).The blood glucose value in the poor glycemic control group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P =0.000).The expression levels of PGC-1 α mRNA were significantly lower and the expression levels of SOD2 mRNA were significantly higher in the good glycemic control group,semi glycemic control group and poor glycemic control group than those in the control group (all at P<0.05).The expression levels of PGC-1α and SOD2 mRNA were significantly different between the good glycemic control group and poor glycemic control group (both at P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the expression levels of PGC-1α and MnSOD protein were decreased in the diabetic model groups,with significant differences between them (all at P<0.05).The expression level of PGC-1 α protein was significantly higher in the good glycemic control group than that in the poor glycemic control group (P<0.05).Diabetes increased DNA methylation in the promotor region of PPARGC1A gene of retina.The DNA methylation level was significantly higher in the poor glycemic control group and semi glycemic control group than that in the control group (P =0.008,0.031).No statistical difference was found between the poor glycemic control group and semi glycemic control group (P > 0.05).Conclusions The expressions of PGC-1o mRNA and protein and MnSOD protein in the retina of STZ induced diabetic rats are decreased,the expression of SOD2 mRNA is increased,the expression changes have metabolic memory characteristics.Increased DNA methylation in the promotor region of PPARGC1A when exposed to high glucose may have a role in the regulation of PGC-1 α expression and metabolic memory.
