1.Efficacy and safety of injectable platelet-rich fibrin in the treatment of mild to moderate female pattern hair loss

Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of injectable platelet-rich fibrin (i-PRF) in the treatment of mild to moderate female pattern hair loss (FPHL), and to analyze the related clinical factors affecting the therapeutic efficacy of i-PRF. Methods: This was a secondary analysis of a prospective, randomized controlled trial. A total of 29 FPHL patients with Sinclair grade Ⅱ-Ⅲ, who attended the outpatient clinics of Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University and Peking University Third Hospital from March 2024 to April 2025, were enrolled. All patients received i-PRF treatment once every 4 weeks for a total of 4 sessions, with follow-up up to 24 weeks. Standardized clinical photographs were taken at baseline, week 12 and week 24. Trichoscopic examination was performed to measure the non-vellus target area hair count (TAHC) and hair diameter (HD) in the target area, and all adverse events were recorded. The Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare the intergroup differences in efficacy for categorical influencing factors; Spearman rank correlation analysis was employed to assess the correlation between continuous influencing factors and efficacy; and multiple linear regression (enter method) was performed to identify independent influencing factors of efficacy. Results: A total of 27 patients completed the trial. At week 12, TAHC significantly increased from 112 (105, 120) hairs/cm
at baseline to 128 (110, 150) hairs/cm
, with a median increase of 12 (5, 28) hairs/cm
and a median growth rate of 10.5 (4.2, 24.5)% (P=0.045); hair diameter significantly increased from 42.5 (39.8, 45.2) μm to 52.0 (47.0, 58.0) μm, with a median increase of 7.5 (3.0, 12.5) μm and a median growth rate of 18.0 (7.5, 29.0)% (P<0.001). At week 24, TAHC further significantly increased to 141 (125, 158) hairs/cm
(P<0.001), with a median growth rate of 24.8 (18.5, 32.0)%; hair diameter continued to improve to 55.0 (50.0, 61.0) μm (P=0.008), with a median growth rate of 21.5 (16.0, 27.0)%. The overall incidence of adverse events was 10.34% (3/29), mainly presenting as mild scalp pruritus and transient headache, without severe adverse effects. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that baseline TAHC was an independent influencing factor for i-PRF efficacy (P<0.05), while age, BMI, disease duration, Sinclair grade, family history of AGA, and baseline HD showed no significant independent effect on efficacy in this model (P>0.05). Conclusion: This preliminary study indicates that i-PRF can improve hair density and hair shaft diameter in patients with FPHL with a favorable safety profile. Patients with FPHL and lower baseline TAHC may achieve greater clinical improvement.

In traditional Chinese medicine herbs (TCM), including Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae (Danshen), Radix Puerariae Lobatae (Gegen), Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Danggui), and Rhizoma Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong) are widely used for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and also often co-administered with Western drugs as a part of integrative medicine practice. Carboxylesterase 1 (CES1) plays a pivotal role in the metabolisms of pro-drugs. Since (S)-2-(2-(6-dimethylamino)-benzothiazole)-4,5-dihydro-thiazole-4-carboxylate (NLMe) has recently been identified by us as a selective CES1 bioluminescent sensor, we developed a rapid method using this substrate for the direct measurement of CES1 activity in rats. This bioluminescence assay was applied to determine CES1 activity in rat tissues after a two-week oral administration of each of the four herbs noted above. The results demonstrated the presence of CES1 enzyme in rat blood and all tested tissues with much higher enzyme activity in the blood, liver, kidney and heart than that in the small intestine, spleen, lung, pancreas, brain and stomach. In addition, the four herbs showed tissue-specific effects on rat CES1 expression. Based on the CES1 biodistribution and its changes after treatment in rats, the possibility that Danshen, Gegen and Danggui might alter CES1 ac-tivities in human blood and kidney should be considered. In summary, a selective and sensitive biolu-minescence assay was developed to rapidly evaluate CES1 activity and the effects of orally administered TCMs in rats.
3. Effect of workplace bullying on posttraumatic stress disorder in nursing staff

Objective:
To investigate the relationship between workplace bullying and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in nursing staff, and to analyze the role of psychological capital between workplace bullying and PTSD.
Methods:
From December 2014 to June 2015, convenience sampling was used to collect 496 nurses from 5 grade A tertiary hospitals in a province of China. Their workplace bullying, psychological capital, and PTSD status were assessed using the Negative Acts Questionnaire, Psychological Capital Questionnaire, and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Self-Rating Scale, respectively. The correlation between variables was analyzed using a structural equation model.
Results:
Among these nurses, the scores of negative acts, psychological capital, and PTSD were 37.15±12.83, 78.81±16.54, and 34.56±12.52, respectively. The score on each dimension of negative acts was positively correlated with that on each dimension of PTSD (
4.Study on relationship between posttraumatic stress disorder and nurses′psychological capital

Objective To explore the relationship between posttraumatic stress disorder and nurses′ psychological capital. Methods By convenient sampling, totally 550 nurses in 5 first-class upper level general hospitals in Zhejiang province were investigated by the posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)Cheeklist-Civilan Version (PCL-C) and Nurses Psychological Capital Questionnaire Revision (NPCQR), and the results were analyzed. Results 18.35%investigated nurses showed a certain degree of PTSD symptoms and 13.71% showed obvious PTSD symptoms. The positive rate was 32.06%.The overall score of nurses′psychological capital was 78.81 ± 16.54, which was in the middle level, and the dimension scores from high to low were self-efficacy (23.80±5.35), hope (23.36±5.24), resilience (19.66 ±4.29), and optimism (11.99 ± 3.21). The nurses′psychological capital had a negative effect on posttraumatic stress disorder (P<0.01). Conclusions Psychological capital of nurses is a negative predictor of PTSD symptoms, which suggested that managers should pay more attention to the development of nurses′psychological capital to reduce and prevent the occurrence of posttraumatic stress disorder,then to improve nursing service quality.
5.MR diffusion imaging analysis of visual center injury in the brain of patients with type 2 diabetic retinopathy

Objective To investigate the possible brain diffusion changes in different sites of the brain,particularly in areas associated with vision function,of patients with proliferative and nonproliferative retinopathy by using diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI).Methods Forty-five type 2 diabetic patients,admitted to our hospital from March 2012 to March 2013,were chosen in our study;according to the fundus examination,they were divided into group of proliferative retinopathy (n=15) group of non-proliferative retinopathy (n=15) and group of no retinopathy (n=15); another 15 healthy controls were chosen.T2WI and DWI with 3.0T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were performed; the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values in the orbitofrontal cortex,cingulated gyrus,thalamus,dorsomedial and dorsolateral frontal cortex,and corona radiate were calculated; and then,Spearman's correlation analysis was performed between ADC values and both course of disease and glycosylated hemoglobin level.Results The ADC values of orbitofrontal cortex,cingulated gyrus and visual cortex in groups of proliferative and non-proliferative retinopathy were significantly increased as compared with group of no retinopathy and control group (F=95.268,P<0.05); the ADC values of orbitofrontal cortex,cingulated gyrus and visual cortex in group of proliferative retinopathy were significantly increased as compared with those in group of non-proliferative retinopathy (P=0.004,0.001 and 0.009,respectively);no significant difference of them was noted between group of no retinopathy and control group (P>0.05).The mean ADC values of orbitofiontal cortex,cingulated gyrus and visual cortex was positively correlated to the duration of disease (r=0.567 and P=0.001; r=0.491 and P=0.01; r=0.428 and P=0.003) and glycosylated hemoglobin level (r=0.336 and P=0.014; r=0.296 and P=0.049; r=0.370 and P=0.012).Conclusion Increased ADC values of visual center (orbitofrontal cortex,cingulated gyrus and visual cortex) conform the association between diabetic retinopathy and brain functioning impairment; DWI may serve to assess subclinical neurogical involvement in diabetic retinopathy,even when brain structural changes are absent.
6.Comparative Study on Naotaifang Containing Serum and Plasma Proteomics (Peptide) by Proteomics

Through comparative study on Naotaifang containing serum and plasma proteomics (peptide), this article revealed differential proteins (peptides) in the Naotaifang. The characteristics of differential proteins were identified with mass spectrometry. It provides scientific evidences for the pharmacodynamic material basis and Chinese herbal medicine plasma pharmacological method development in the exploration of Naotaifang. A total of 20 healthy adult SD rats were randomly divided into the control group, Naotaifang treatment group according to their weights. Ten rats in each group. Intragastric administration of medication was given for seven consecutive days. Before surgery, rats were fed with water but without food. One hour after the last drug administration, 10% chloral hydrate was injected for intraperitoneal anesthesia. Blood was taken through the common carotid artery. Serum and plasma samples were made after blood was taken from each rat. Serum and plasma samples of five rats were randomly selected from each group. And the two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE) technique was used in the comparative study of serum pro-teomics (peptide). The 300 DPI scanning and PDQuest 7.3.0 were used in the analysis. The ESI-MS/MS was used to identify important differences in proteins and screen characteristic serum and plasma protein. The results showed that 20 differential proteins of 5 plasma samples were identified. There were 15 types of proteins expressing up-regulation and 5 types expressing down-regulation. Comparative analysis on the 2-DE gel pictures of Naotaifang containing serum, 19 differential proteins of 5 plasma samples were identified, among which 15 types of proteins express up-regulation and 4 down-regulation. Comparative analysis on the 2-DE gel pictures of Naotaifang containing serum and Naotaifang containing plasma showed that 24 differential proteins of 5 plasma samples were identified, among which 9 types of proteins express up-regulation and 15 down-regulation. The highly expressed proteins were selected to MALDI-TOF-MS between Naotaifang containing serum and Naotaifang containing plasma. There were six successful-ly identified proteins, which were inter-alpha trypsin inhibitor, heavy chain 3, group-specific component, comple-ment factor B, Receptor Complexed with A Heterodimeric Fc, isoform CRA-d, Transferrin. It was concluded that protein with obvious changes in the Naotaifang containing serum and plasma may be related with fibrinolysis and an-ticoagulant. These proteins are involved in angiogenesis, inflammation and other pathological regulations of physiolog-ical processes. They are of great significance in the study of effective target and its signal transduction pathway of Naotaifang.
