1.Maribavir effectively treated three patients with human herpesvirus-6B infection after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation

Human herpesvirus-6B (HHV-6B) reactivation is a significant contributor to nonrelapse mortality following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). This retrospective analysis describes three cases of HHV-6B reactivation following allo-HSCT, all of which achieved viral clearance with maribavir treatment following failure or intolerance to first-line antiviral therapy with foscarnet sodium. One patient diagnosed with HHV-6B encephalitis recovered without neurological sequelae. No adverse drug reactions to maribavir were observed. These findings provide preliminary evidence that maribavir may serve as an effective and safe salvage therapy for HHV-6B reactivation in patients receiving allo-HSCT.
2.Prevalence and risk factors of food allergies among children in North China grassland: a cross-sectional study based on Zhangbei County, Hebei Province

Objective:To determine the prevalence of self-reported food allergies among children in the grasslands of North China and to analyze its associated risk factors.Methods:In this study, a cross-sectional epidemiological survey method was used to select children under 14 years old by multi-stage, stratified and random cluster sampling in the grassland ecological area of Zhangbei County, Hebei Province, China from May to July 2018. Face-to-face questionnaires were administered to gather food allergy-related information from the participants. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the risk factors associated with self-reported food allergy.Results:A total of 2 086 children completed the survey. The prevalence of self-reported food allergies was 22.0%(459/2 086). The prevalence of multiple food allergies (≥3 types) was 3.1%(64/2 086) versus 16.3% (341/2 086) for a single food allergy among all children. Mango allergy (6.1%, 127/2 086) was the most common, followed by peach allergy (4.1%, 85/2 086). Children who reported food allergies had a significantly higher prevalence of all 4 atopic disorders (eczema, asthma, allergic rhinitis, and allergic conjunctivitis than those without food allergies(35.73% vs. 20.65%, 5.88% vs. 2.77%, 17.86% vs. 7.38%, 16.78% vs. 10.45%, χ2 =44.663 1, 10.434 3, 45.038 3, 13.728 4, all P<0.001).Significantly associated risk factors of food allergy were found to be pollen allergy ( OR: 2.29; 95% CI: 1.80-2.92) and drug allergy ( OR: 1.53; 95% CI: 1.12-2.09). Conclusions:The prevalence of self-reported food allergies among children in the Zhangbei County area of the North China Grassland was relatively high. Pollen allergy and drug allergy are major risk factors.
3.Changes in the sensitization spectrum of airway allergic diseases among outpatients in Beijing area

OBJECTIVE To analyze the dynamic changes of inhalant allergen sensitization profiles in patients with allergic rhinitis,asthma and allergic rhinitis combined with asthma in the Beijing area.METHODS A retrospective study was conducted on patients with allergic rhinitis,asthma,and allergic rhinitis combined with asthma who visited the Allergy Department of Beijing Shijitan Hospital from January 2021 to December 2024.All patients underwent skin prick tests for 27 inhalant allergens.RESULTS A total of 28 454 patients were included.The overall positive rate of SPT was 74.21%,with the highest positive rate in the 10-14 age group(84.09%).Spring pollen and summer-autumn pollen were the main allergens,with higher positive rates than dust mites and molds(P<0.05).Juniperus chinensis was the main sensitization in patients with allergic rhinitis,while in patients with allergic rhinitis combined with asthma,sensitization to weeds such as Chenopodium album,Humulus scandens,and Artemisia sieversiana were more common.In recent years,the positive rates of sensitization to spring pollen,summer-autumn pollen,and molds all showed an upward trend(P<0.05),with the most significant increase in molds.CONCLUSION In the Beijing area,pollen,dust mites and mold are the main allergens in spring and autumn.In recent years,the sensitization rates of Juniperus chinensis and Artemisia sieversiana pollen have decreased,but the positive rate of mold sensitization has been on the rise,which still needs to be taken seriously.
4.Effects of Tongxin Huoqian Decoction on fibrosis in mice with adenomyosis model

Objective:To study the effects of Tongmai Huazheng Decoction on the fibrosis of lesions in mice with adenomyosis (AM); To explore its mechanism.Methods:The ICR mouse model of adenomyosis was established by using tamoxifen modeling method. The 30 mice successfully modeled were divided into model group, Tongmai Huazheng Decoction group and progesterone group according to the random number table method with 10 mice in each group, and 10 female mice were set as the blank group. Tongmai Huazheng Decoction group was intragastrically administered with Tongmai Huazheng Decoction 30.47 g/kg, once/d; The gestrinone group was intragastrically administered with gestrinone suspension 0.32 mg/kg, twice a week; the blank group and model group were intragastrically administered with 0.1 ml/10 g normal saline, once a day. After 8 weeks of intervention, HE staining was used to observe the pathological changes of uterine tissue; Masson staining was used to observe the degree of uterine tissue fibrosis; immunofluorescence method was used to detect the protein expressions of CollagenⅠ, CollagenⅢ and fibronectin in uterine tissue of each group; Western bolt method was used to detect the protein expressions of TGF-β1 and α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) in each group.Results:Compared with the model group, the ratio of collagen fiber area in uterine tissue in Tongmai Huazheng Decoction group and progesterone group decreased ( P<0.05), the immunofluorescence intensity of CollagenⅠ, CollagenⅢ and Fibronectin decreased ( P<0.05), and the expressions of TGF-β1 and α-SMA proteins decreased ( P<0.05). Conclusion:Tongmai Huazheng Decoction can reduce the ratio of collagen fiber area in the uterus of mice with adenomyosis model, downregulate the expression of CollagenⅠ, Collagen Ⅲ, Fibronectin, TGF-β1, and α-SMA proteins, alleviate the degree of fibrosis in adenomyosis lesions, and thus inhibit or slow down disease progression.

7.Effects of Shoutai Pills in Regulating Histone Modification on Endometrial Decidualization of Mice with Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion

Objective To observe the effect of Shoutai Pills on endometrial decidualization of mice with recurrent spontaneous abortion(RSA);To explore its possible mechanism in the treatment of RSA based on histone modification.Methods Totally 40 female CBA/J mice were divided into normal group,model group,Shoutai Pills low-dosage group(7.5 g/kg),Shoutai Pills high-dosage group(15 g/kg)and dydrogesterone group(3 mg/kg).The normal group were co housed with BALB/C male mice,while the other groups were co housed with DBA/2 male mice to establish an RSA mouse model.After modeling,the administration groups were given corresponding medication solution by gavage,while the normal group and model group were given equal volume of pure water by gavage for 10 consecutive days.The embryo condition was observed and the embryo loss rate was calculated,ELISA was used to detect serum prolactin(PRL)content,HE staining was used to observe the morphological changes of decidual tissue,RT-PCR was used to detect PRL mRNA expression in decidual tissue,Western blot was used to detect the protein expressions of H4ac,H3K27ac,H3K27me3.Results Compared with the normal group,the model group mice showed a significant increase in embryo loss rate,a significant decrease in serum PRL content,disordered arrangement of decidual cells,and extensive bleeding and necrosis;the expression of PRL mRNA and protein in decidual tissue significantly decreased,the protein expressions of H4ac and H3K27ac significantly decreased,while the expression of H3K27me3 protein significantly increased,with statistical significance(P<0.05).Compared with the model group,the embryo loss rate of Shoutai Pills low-and high-dosage groups and the dexamethasone group significantly decreased,the serum PRL content significantly increased,tightly arranged decidual cells,reduced necrosis,and intact glands;the expression of PRL mRNA and protein in decidual tissue of mice in Shoutai Pills high-dosage group and the dexamethasone group significantly increased,the protein expressions of H4ac and H3K27ac significantly increased,the expression of H3K27me3 protein significantly decreased,with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion Shoutai Pills can promote endometrial decidualization in RSA mice,which is related to the changes of histone modification in endometrial stromal cells.

Adenomyosis(AM)is characterized by the benign invasion of endometrial tissue and stroma into the myometrium,resulting in diffuse or localized pathological changes.Typical symptoms include increased menstrual volume,prolonged menstrual periods,and progressive dysmenorrhea.In severe cases,AM can lead to infertility.Endometrial receptivity(ER)plays a crucial role in facilitating adhesion,penetration,and implantation required for successful embryo implantation and pregnancy outcome.The impairment of ER due to AM-related factors involves complex mechanisms.This article aims to provide a comprehensive review of recent research findings on the mecha-nisms underlying ER injury caused by AM over the past three years while highlighting the latest advancements in treatment strategies.
9.Comparison of short-term efficacy between laparoscopic surgery with natural orifice specimen extraction and laparoscopic-assisted surgery for radical resection of rectal cancer

【Objective】 To explore the feasibility, safety and clinical application value of laparoscopic radical rectal cancer surgery with natural orifice specimen extraction (NOSE) by comparing the postoperative pathological data, surgery-related variables and postoperative recovery between laparoscopic radical rectal cancer surgery with NOSE and laparoscopic-assisted radical rectal cancer surgery. 【Methods】 A retrospective analysis was conducted on 74 patients who underwent radical rectal cancer surgery with anus preservation in the Department of General Surgery of The First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University from July 2017 to April 2022. Among them, 38 cases underwent surgery with specimen extraction through an abdominal auxiliary incision (auxiliary incision group), and 36 cases underwent surgery with specimen extraction through a natural orifice (NOSES group). The differences in the efficacy of the two surgeries were evaluated by comparing the postoperative pathological data, surgical variables, and postoperative recovery of the two groups. 【Results】 There were no statistically significant differences in general data and postoperative pathological data between the two groups (all P>0.05). The NOSES group exhibited significantly shorter operative time, time to first flatus, time to first oral intake postoperatively, and postoperative hospital stay compared to the auxiliary incision group (all P<0.05). However, there were no statistically significant differences in intraoperative blood loss, postoperative complications, and whether secondary surgeries were performed (all P>0.05). 【Conclusion】 Laparoscopic surgery with NOSE for rectal cancer is safe and feasible with minimally invasive and accelerated recovery, which is worth promoting and applying in clinical practice.
10.Application effect of modified installing method of high flexion rotating platform prosthesis trial model in double compartment knee arthroplasty

Objective To explore the application effect of modified installing method of high flexion rotating platform prosthesis trial model in double compartment knee arthroplasty.Methods A total of 20 patients(26 knees)with severe knee osteoarthritis admitted to Hebi People's Hospital from January 2021 to April 2022 and required double compartment knee arthroplasty were selected as the research subjects.Patients were divided into the control group(10 knees)and the observation group(16 knees)based on the installing method of high flexion rotating platform prosthesis trial model.The patients in the control group used the conventional installing method of high flexion rotating platform prosthesis test model(placing the tibial side test model,the femoral side test model and finally the pad test model),while patients in the observation group used the modified installing method of high flexion rotating platform prosthesis test model(matching the femoral test model,pad and tibial test model when the patient flexed 60° to 90°,and placing them together into the knee joint osteotomy groove).The intraoperative bleeding volume and surgical time of patients in the two groups were recorded.Before surgery,2 weeks after surgery and 18 months after surgery,the knee joint function of patients was evaluated by the American hospital for special surgery(HSS)scoring system,and the range of motion(ROM)of knee joint of patients was measured by protractor.Results The intraopera-tive bleeding volume of patients in the observation group was significantly less than that in the control group,and the surgical time was significantly shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in preoperative HSS score and ROM of knee joint of patients between the two groups(P>0.05).At 2 weeks and 18 months after surgery,the HSS score and ROM of knee joint of patients in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with the conventional installing method of high flexion rotating platform prosthesis trial method,the modified installing method of high flexion rotating platform prosthesis trial model in double compart-ment knee arthroplasty for patients with severe knee osteoarthritis can effectively improve surgical efficiency,reduce intraopera-tive bleeding,improve knee function and increase ROM of knee joint.
