AIM:To investigate the role of Ywhab in the growth of mouse B-cell lymphoma, and to explore the potential underlying mechanisms.METHODS:The correlation between Ywhab and human diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL)was investigated by bioinformatics analysis.Infection with retroviral vector was performed to establish stable mouse B-cell lymphoma 38B9 cell line with overexpression of Ywhab gene, which was verified by RT-qPCR and Western blot. The impact of Ywhab overexpression on 38B9 cell growth both in vitro and in vivo was detected by cell counting,CCK-8 assay, and subcutaneous tumor loading experiments. The expression of apoptosis-related proteins was detected by RT-qPCR and Western blot.Co-immunoprecipitation combined with mass spectrometry(CoIP-MS)was employed to search for proteins specifically binding to Ywhab gene product 14-3-3β,which was confirmed by Western blot and molecu-lar docking analysis.RESULTS:The Ywhab gene exhibited low expression in DLBCL,which was correlated with poor clinical prognosis of DLBCL patients.Compared with normal mouse bone marrow B cells,Ywhab expression was low in 38B9 cells.Overexpression of Ywhab induced apoptosis of 38B9 cells both in vitro and in vivo, promoted the expression of pro-apoptotic proteins Puma,Noxa and Bax at both mRNA and protein levels, and inhibited the mRNA and protein expres-sion of anti-apoptotic protein Bcl2(P<0.05).The 14-3-3β protein specifically bound to Hsp90aa1 and reduced Hsp90aa1 protein levels, thereby suppressing the growth of 38B9 cells.CONCLUSION:Ywhab promotes the apoptosis of B-cell lymphoma cells by binding to Hsp90aa1 and thereby inhibiting the function of Hsp90aa1.

ECG signals and sleep monitoring parameters complement each other and can be used for qualitative diagnosis of sleep apnea syndrome and cardio-related diseases. However, due to the limitations of the instrument volume and the detection environment,it is often challenging to integrate these two functions in practical applications. In this paper,a 12-lead dynamic electrocardiograph integrated with sleep monitoring is designed. The system's volume is reduced by combining the integrated ECG simulation front end with a miniature sensor. The system achieves the extraction, conditioning, and calculation of 12-lead ECG signals and sleep-related parameters and writes the data to a memory card in real time, which offers convenience for users and doctors in the diagnostic process.

Objective:To develop a Beijing norm of Memory and Executive Screening (MES) scale to facilitate its further promotion and application in the future. Methods:Study subjects were selected based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, including patients who visited the memory clinic of Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University from March 20, 2017 to January 6, 2021, and normal people recruited simultaneously from community, and trained and qualified investigators conducted questionnaire surveys through face-to-face interviews. Then strict quality control, data collection and statistical analysis were performed. Results:A total of 607 participants were included, including 239 normal people, 293 individuals with subjective cognitive decline (SCD), and 75 individuals with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). There was a negative correlation between the scores of MES and age ( r=-0.19, P<0.001), but a positive correlation between scores of MES and education level ( r=0.29, P<0.001). The optimal cut-off value of this scale in Beijing was 86 points, the area under curve (AUC) of the cut-off value to distinguish MCI was 0.847 (normal people vs MCI) and 0.826 (SCD vs MCI), and after adding demographic variables, AUC showed slight increase (0.847 to 0.850 and 0.826 to 0.847), whereas the differences were not statistically significant ( Znormal peoplevsMCI=0.49, ZSCDvsMCI=1.21, P>0.05). And there was no statistically significant difference between MES and Montreal Cognitive Assessment scales in diagnostic power for normal people and people with MCI ( Zscale alone=1.03, Zafter adding demographic variables=1.13, P>0.05). Conclusions:The MES scale has a better distinguishing power for MCI, and its optimal cut-off value in Beijing is 86 points, which is different from previous studies. In the future, the sample size needs to be further expanded to verify this norm.

Orally administered drug entities have to survive the harsh gastrointestinal environment, penetrate the enteric epithelia and circumvent hepatic metabolism before reaching the systemic circulation. Whereas the gastrointestinal stability can be well maintained by taking proper measures, hepatic metabolism presents as a formidable barrier to drugs suffering from first-pass metabolism. The pharmaceutical academia and industries are seeking alternative pathways for drug transport to circumvent problems associated with the portal pathway. Intestinal lymphatic transport is emerging as a promising pathway to this end. In this review, we intend to provide an updated overview on the rationale, strategies, factors and applications involved in intestinal lymphatic transport. There are mainly two pathways for peroral lymphatic transport-the chylomicron and the microfold cell pathways. The underlying mechanisms are being unraveled gradually and nowadays witness increasing research input and applications.

Objective:To explore the diagnostic value of laparoscopy in the postoperative recurrence of peritoneal metastasis in gastric cancer, and to investigate the efficacy of bidirectional intraperitoneal and systemic (BIPS) chemotherapy for the recurrence. Methods:The descriptive case series study was conducted. Case inclusion criteria: (1) gastric cancer patients without synchronous distant metastasis received D2 radical gastrectomy; (2) postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy was administered; (3) no other distant metastasis except recurrence of peritoneal metastasis; (4) age of 18-75 years; (5) Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance-status score≤2; (6) pretreatment evaluation suggested that surgery and chemotherapy could be tolerated. Eight consecutive gastric cancer patients with postoperative recurrence of peritoneal metastasis who met the above criteria at Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery of Ruijin Hospital from September 2015 to September 2016 were enrolled into the study. There were 6 males and 2 females with the median age of 52 (38-68) years. They received laparoscopy or laparotomy first, and then were evaluated with reference to the Sugarbaker peritoneal cancer index (PCI) and the peritoneal metastasis classification of gastric cancer developed by the Japanese Gastric Cancer Research Association. A peritoneal access port was implanted in the subcutaneous space of the lower abdomen and the patients received chemotherapy for 21 days as a course of treatment. All the patients received intraperitoneal 20 mg/m 2 of paclitaxel (PTX) via implanted subcutaneous peritoneal access ports and intravenous 50 mg/m 2 of PTX at day 1 and day 8, meanwhile 80 mg/m 2 of Tigio was orally administered per day for 14 consecutive days, followed by 7 days of interval. Follow-up ended on December 15, 2019. Results:Of these 8 patients with recurrence of peritoneal metastasis after gastric cancer surgery, 1 case underwent laparotomy and loop stoma of terminal ileum because of complete colonic obstruction, and the remaining 7 cases underwent laparoscopy successfully and the recurrence of peritoneal metastasis was clearly diagnosed. Two patients with ovarian metastasis underwent laparoscopic bilateral adnexectomy. The median follow-up time was 17.5 (1.5 to 39.0) months, the median number of BIPS chemotherapy course was 11 (1 to 30), and the median survival time (MST) after BIPS chemotherapy was 17.0 months. The major adverse reaction in BIPS treatment was mainly myelosuppression, of which grade 3/4 leukopenia and neutropenia developed in 1 and 2 cases respectively. No BIPS-related death occurred. The MST of gastric cancer after radical gastrectomy was 40.0 months. Conclusions:Laparoscopy is a safe and feasible method for diagnosing the recurrence of peritoneal metastasis of gastric cancer. BIPS chemotherapy is effective and safe for its treatment and deserves further study.

Objective:The aim of this study was to design and perform "Tap-hammer"system that can be used to elicit vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMP) in normal adults and to report the preliminary results of this system. Methods:A triggered Tap-hammer was designed, made and connected with an electric recording system, to form as a system for Tap-VEMP recording. Twenty healthy adult volunteers (7 males and 13 females, aged 20 to 37 years, 40 ears in total) were recruited for air-conducted sound VEMP (ACS-VEMP) and Tap-VEMP examinations. Waveforms and parameters of both VEMPs were recorded and analyzed. SPSS 22.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Results:The response rates of ACS-, Tap-ocular VEMP (oVEMP) and ACS-, Tap-cervical VEMP (cVEMP) were both 100% (40/40). The mean±SD n1 latency, p1 latency, n1-p1 interval, amplitude, and asymmetry ratio (AR%) of Tap-oVEMP were (9.80±2.51)ms, (13.90±3.26)ms, (4.09±1.43)ms, (16.43±9.61)μV, (22.68±17.35)% respectively. The mean±SD p1 latency, n1 latency, p1-n1 interval, amplitude, and asymmetry ratio (AR%) of Tap-cVEMP were (13.26±2.07)ms, (21.84±2.89)ms, (8.58±2.10)ms, (457.65±274.94)μV, (20.42±13.46)% respectively. Both n1 latency and p1 latency of Tap-VEMPs were shorter than those in ACS-VEMPs ( P<0.05). No statistical difference could be found between the two stimulation methods in the parameters of n1-p1 interval, amplitude, and asymmetry ratio( P>0.05). Conclusion:The Tap-hammer system can elicit VEMP responses in healthy young people. This system can be used as an alternative stimulation method for bone conduction VEMP.
