Cancer Research on Prevention and Treatment 2025;52(6):481-490
Objective To explore the expression characteristics of BAIAP2L1 in cervical cancer (CC) and its regulatory role in tumor cell metastasis. Methods The correlation between BAIAP2L1 expression and clinical prognosis was analyzed by using a public database. GO pathway enrichment and clinicopathological correlation analyses were conducted by employing R language. The effect of BAIAP2L1 knockdown on CC cell proliferation, invasion, migration, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) were further investigated through gene silencing approaches. Results BAIAP2L1 expression was significantly upregulated in CC tissues (Padj <0.001) and it was identified as an independent risk factor for patient mortality (HR=2.808, P=0.03). Elevated BAIAP2L1 levels showed significant correlations with poor overall survival, advanced T/N stage, recurrence, and metastasis (all P<0.05). Functional enrichment analysis revealed its involvement in tumor metastasis-related pathways. The knockdown of BAIAP2L1 significantly attenuated CC cell proliferation, invasion, and migration and suppressed key EMT processes (all P<0.05). Conclusion BAIAP2L1 is overexpressed in CC tissues and associated with patient prognosis and metastasis. The targeted inhibition of BAIAP2L1 can effectively curb tumor progression.

Objective:To construct a questionnaire to measure parents′ behavioral and social drivers (BeSD) in administering rotavirus vaccine to their children, and to test the reliability and validity of the questionnaire. Methods:A questionnaire was constructed to investigate the BeSD of rotavirus vaccination among parents based on the WHO BeSD questionnaire. A survey was conducted among parents of children aged 0-3 years old in vaccination clinics from 15 community health service centers in Nanjing City of Jiangsu Province, Yuhuan and Kaihua Counties of Zhejiang Province, Anqing City of Anhui Province, and Yangpu District of Shanghai City from April to May in 2024. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were used to analyze the reliability (internal consistency reliability, combination reliability and split half reliability) and validity (structural validity, convergence validity and discriminative validity) of the questionnaire. Results:A total of 850 questionnaires were collected, of which 614 were valid, with an effective response rate of 72.20%. The EFA resulted in the refinement of the rotavirus vaccine BeSD questionnaire from 37 to 35 items (including 24 core items), and suggested a five-factor structure including the perceptions of vaccine, confidence in vaccine, social process of vaccination, motivation for vaccination, and practical problems of vaccination. The cumulative variance contribution rate reached 56.27%. The CFA confirmed an ideal five-factor model fit (GFI=0.82,CFI=0.86,PNFI=0.67,RMSEA=0.07). The AVE of each dimension was greater than 0.50. The AVE square root of each dimension of the questionnaire was greater than its correlation coefficient. The Cronbach′s α coefficient of the total questionnaire was 0.79.Conclusion:The developed BeSD questionnaire of rotavirus vaccine has good reliability and validity, and can be used to measure parents′ behavioral and social factors in administering rotavirus vaccine to their children.

Objective:To analyze the willingness and related factors of pregnant women in Shanghai City to receive influenza vaccines during pregnancy. Methods:An online questionnaire survey was conducted among pregnant women who registered in maternal and child health hospitals in 16 districts of Shanghai. The basic information, health status during pregnancy, attitude towards influenza vaccination, and knowledge of influenza and influenza vaccine were collected, and χ2 test and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used to analyze the willingness and related factors of pregnant women to receive influenza vaccines during pregnancy. Results:A total of 3 219 valid questionnaires were received, with 10.90% of pregnant women willing to receive influenza vaccination during pregnancy, 57.50% unwilling to receive vaccination and 31.59% holding an uncertain attitude. Among the pregnant women who were willing to receive the vaccine, 82.91% would take the initiative to know the relevant information about the influenza vaccine, and 87.18% understood the transmission routes of the flu. 32.09% believed that pregnant women could receive the influenza vaccination at any stage of pregnancy. Among those who were unwilling and held an uncertain attitude, the proportions of the above three questions were 47.06%, 83.95% and 17.80%, respectively. Among pregnant women who were unwilling to receive vaccination and held an uncertain attitude, the main reason for their vaccine hesitation was the concern about the safety of the vaccine for pregnant women and fetuses during pregnancy. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that pregnant women with higher education ( OR=3.278, 95% CI: 1.678-6.406, P=0.001), second trimester ( OR=1.542, 95% CI: 1.159-2.054, P=0.003), third pregnancy ( OR=2.318, 95% CI: 1.008-5.331, P=0.048), and previous influenza vaccination ( OR=1.552, 95% CI: 1.119-2.152, P=0.008) had a higher willingness to receive influenza vaccines during pregnancy. Conclusion:Pregnant women in Shanghai have a relatively low willingness to receive influenza vaccines during pregnancy, mainly due to concerns about vaccine safety.

Objective To compare six existing Chinese standards related to visual disability, including Disability Assessment and Code for Life Insurance(Insurance Standard),Specification for Ability Assessment of Older Adults(Elderly Stan-dard),Grading of Disability due to Human Body Injury(Judicial Standard),Standard for Identify Work Ability—Gradation of Disability Caused by Work-related Injuries and Occupational Diseases(Work Injury Standard),Standard for Assessment of Disability Grades of Military Personnel(Military Standard),and Classification and Grading Criteria of Disability(Disability Classification Standard). Methods Based on the theoretical framework of International Classification of Functioning,Disability and Health(ICF)and International Classification of Diseases, the 11th Revision(ICD-11),and with reference to World Report on Vision(WRV),this study analyzed and compared five key dimensions of visual disability across the six stan-dards:definition,classification,grading,assessment methods and coding systems. Results In terms of definition, the insurance, work injury, military, and disability classification standards emphasized vi-sual structure and function, focusing on visual acuity and visual field;the insurance and elderly standards incor-porated activities and participation, reflecting the concept of functional vision;the judicial standard lacked a dedi-cated definition of visual disability. In terms of grading, each standard graded visual disability into different lev-els acoording to different functional indicators. In terms of coding, only the insurance standard adopted the ICF framework, while others used non-ICF numeric codes or lacked standardized coding. In terms of assessment tools, the elderly standard employed a customized perceptual and participation scoring system, while others re-lied primarily on vision charts. Conclusion Most current Chinese standards focus on impairments in visual function, with limited attention to activity limitations and participation restrictions. It is needed for incorporating the concept of functional vision, aligned with ICF and WRV,to establish a unified conceptual framework, terminology, coding system for visual disability, and comprehensive assessments that reflect not only impairments but also the impact on daily functioning and en-vironmental interaction.
5.Characteristics of speech and language functioning in children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their educational curricula and rehabilitation interventions:an ICF-based study
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2025;31(8):930-938
Objective To systematically explore the characteristics of speech, language functioning and adaptation in children with intellectual and developmental disabilities(IDD)based on framework of International Classification of Function-ing,Disability and Health(ICF),to construct an integrated system that merges curricula and rehabilitation based on an analysis of the content and functional goals within language-related curriculum standards for Peizhi(spe-cial education for children with IDD)schools. Methods Using the bio-psycho-social model of the ICF,the characteristics of speech and communication disorders in children with IDD were systematically analyzed across the three dimensions of body functions and structures,ac-tivities and participation, and environmental factors.A content analysis was conducted on the three core curricu-lum standards for Peizhi schools issued by the Ministry of Education of China, extracting and summarizing the goals and core content related to linguistic ability development, which were then mapped and coded using the ICF classification system.Guided by the ICF's functioning-oriented principles, these curriculum goals were inte-grated with evidence-based rehabilitation strategies to construct a comprehensive curriculum and rehabilitation interventions that included assessment, goal setting, curriculum module design and intervention strategies. Results For the speech and language functioning in children with IDD,at the body functions level, impairments were identified in areas such as mental functions of language(b167)and articulation(b320);at the activities and partic-ipation level, limitations manifested as significant difficulties in communication(d3)and interpersonal interac-tions(d7);and environmental factors(e.g.,family support,e310;educational services,e585)impacted on func-tional performance and adaptation.Main curriculum standards of China related to language functioning for Pei-zhi schools addressed three domains respectively:body functions(Rehabilitation Training Curriculum Standard),communication skills[Living Language(Chinese)Curriculum Standard],and social participation and environ-ment(the Life Adaptation Curriculum Standard).Together, they constructed a standardized system for education-al curricula and rehabilitation interventions for children's speech and language functioning. Conclusion The speech therapy, the courses of Chinese language and adaptation are the complex and multidimensional processes.Based on the theoretical framework of the ICF's bio-psycho-social model, this study systematically in-tegrates China's Living Language(Chinese),Rehabilitation Training, and Life Adaptation curriculum standards to construct a speech rehabilitation program and a language ability curriculum oriented by the children's speech,lan-guage functioning and adaptation, which emphasizes a process beginning with functional assessment, grounded in real-life contexts, and actualized through interdisciplinary collaboration,to provide individualized, multimodal and evidence-based education, rehabilitation interventions and support for every child with special needs.By im-plementing the integrated rehabilitation interventions and language-related curriculum system,it enhances chil-dren's speech, language functioning and adaptation, promotes their functional communication, empowers their communication activities and social participation, and improves their social adaptation and overall development.
