Objective:To explore the assessment value of multimodal imaging technique for the hepatic fibrosis(HF)of rats.Methods:Forty-eight SD rats were selected,and they were divided into control group,M1 model group,M2 model group and M3 model group according to random number table,with 12 rats in each group.The three model groups were induced by combination method of carbon tetrachloride(CCl4)plus ethanol to establish HF model.At the 4th,6th and 8th week of modelling,the M1 model group underwent ultrasound examination,and the M2 model group underwent examination of magnetic resonance,and the M3 model group adopted the examinations of conventional ultrasound,ultrasound elastography and dynamically contrast enhanced magnetic resonance imaging(DCE-MRI).The rats of control group were randomly divided into three subgroups,with four rats in each subgroup,which were controlled with the rats in the M1,M2 and M3 groups,respectively.At the end of the imaging examinations,the HE staining were conducted on the liver tissues so as to observe the HF degree of rats.The conventional ultrasound was used to observe the morphology of the rat liver,and to measure the inner diameter of the main trunk of the portal vein.colour Doppler ultrasound was used to measure the blood flow velocity of portal vein.Ultrasound elastography was used to observe the color distribution of liver parenchymal stiffness,and to measure the elasticity value of liver parenchyma.The initial area under curve(iAUC)of the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)was adopted to analyze the volume transit constant(Ktrans),rate constant(Kep)and extravascular extracellular space volume fraction(Ve)of the hemodynamic parameters in enhanced magnetic resonance examination.Results:The conventional ultrasound showed there was no abnormal changes in the livers of rats in control group,and the morphology of the liver of M1 group occurred changes.Ultrasound elastography showed that the elasticity values of the liver of rats in M1 group appeared upward trend with the aggravation of the HF degree than control group.Conventional MRI of group M2 showed that the liver morphology was normal in the control group,and the changes of the liver morphologies of rats in M2 group at the 6th and 8th week post modeling were more obvious than that at the 4th week post modeling.The ROC curve analysis of DCE-MRI results showed that Ktrans and Ve had higher diagnostic efficacy for HF,and their iAUC values were>0.9.The results of intergroup comparison of rats among M1 model group,M2 model group and M3 model group indicated that the sensitivity,accuracy,positive predictive value and negative predictive value of multimodal imaging technique were significantly higher than those of single examination in diagnosing HF at early stage of rats,and the differences were statistically significant(x2=0.634,0.644,0.621,0.543,P<0.05),respectively.HE staining results showed that the liver tissues of the rats in the model groups appeared fibroplasia of different degrees.Conclusion:Multimodal imaging technique can be used as an effective test method of evaluating hepatic fibrosis.

Objective To design and test a device which is capable of accurately measuring and dynamically adjusting the axial pressure at the fracture end in real-time.Methods Upon completion of the design,the pressure measurement and adjustment device was implemented in a canine tibial fracture external fixation model.A pressure sensor was mounted at the fracture end,and the displayed values of the pressure sensor were used as the standard for comparison.The relationship between the displayed values of the measurement and adjustment device and the pressure sensor under identical conditions was examined.Results The device was utilized in external fixation models of tibial fractures in five beagles.A linear correlation was observed between the displayed values of the device and the pressure sensor at the fracture end.The measurement values from the device could be transformed into fracture end pressure through the application of coefficients,thereby facilitating accurate measurement and dynamic adjustment of the fracture end pressure.Conclusion The pressure measurement and adjustment device at the fracture end is easy to operate,enabling precise measurement and dynamic regulation of the pressure at the fracture end.It is well-suited for animal experiments aimed at investigating the impact of axial compression on fracture healing,demonstrating promising potential for experimental applications.

BACKGROUND: The KangDuo-Surgical Robot-01 (KD-SR-01) system is a new surgical robot recently developed in China. The aim of this study was to present our single-center experience and mid-term outcomes of urological procedures using the KD-SR-01 system. METHODS: From August 2020 to April 2023, consecutive urologic procedures were performed at Peking University First Hospital using the KD-SR-01 system. The clinical features, perioperative data, and follow-up outcomes were prospectively collected and analyzed. RESULTS: A total of 110 consecutive patients were recruited. Among these patients, 28 underwent partial nephrectomy (PN), 41 underwent urinary tract reconstruction (26 underwent pyeloplasty, 3 underwent ureteral reconstruction and 12 underwent ureterovesical reimplantation [UR]), and 41 underwent radical prostatectomy (RP). The median operative time for PN was 112.5 min, 157.0 min for pyeloplasty, 151.0 min for ureteral reconstruction, 142.5 min for UR, and 138.0 min for RP. The median intraoperative blood loss was 10 mL for PN, 10 mL for pyeloplasty, 30 mL for ureteral reconstruction, 20 mL for UR, and 50 mL for RP. All procedures were successfully completed without conversion, and there were no major complications in any patient. The median warm ischemia time of PN was 17.3 min, and positive surgical margin was not noted in any patient. The overall positive surgical margin rate of RP was 39% (16/41), and no biochemical recurrence was observed in any RP patient during the median follow-up of 11.0 months. The surgical success rates of pyeloplasty and UR were 96% (25/26) and 92% (11/12) during the median follow-up of 29.5 months and 11.5 months, respectively. CONCLUSION The KD-SR-01 system appears feasible, safe, and effective for most urological procedures, based on our single-center experience.

Objective:To understand the urinary iodine external quality control assessment results of county-level iodine deficiency disorders laboratories in Liaoning Province.Methods:The numbers of county-level iodine deficiency disorders laboratories which participated in the national urinary iodine external quality control assessment in Liaoning Province from 2016 to 2019 were 19, 33, 39 and 56, respectively. The urinary iodine external quality control assessment results were statistically analyzed with the Z score method (qualified: │Z│≤2; basically qualified: 2 <│Z│ < 3; unqualified: │Z│≥3). The percentage of laboratories participating in the assessment and the qualified rate were calculated.Results:From 2016 to 2019, the percentage of county-level iodine deficiency disorders laboratories in Liaoning Province that participated in the national urinary iodine external quality control assessment increased year by year, which were 19.79% (19/96), 34.38% (33/96), 40.63% (39/96) and 58.33% (56/96), respectively. The qualified rates were 89.47% (17/19), 84.85% (28/33), 100.00% (39/39) and 100.00% (56/56), respectively.Conclusion:From 2016 to 2019, the percentage and detection capacity of county-level iodine deficiency disorders laboratories in Liaoning Province that participated in the national urinary iodine external quality control assessment have been improved.

Objective:To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of Kangduo endoscopic surgical robot system for partial nephrectomy.Methods:Consecutive patients with stage T 1 renal tumor meeting the inclusion criteria from the Department of Urology, Peking University First Hospital from December 2020 to February 2021 were prospectively enrolled. All patients underwent partial nephrectomy with the Kangduo endoscopic surgical robot system after signing the informed consent. Clinical data including preoperative, perioperative and postoperative pathology and follow-up were collected. Results:Among the 26 patients, there were 16 males and 10 females, with a median age of 53(33-74) years, and a median body mass index of 25.99(20.90-32.91) kg/m 2. There were 12 cases of left kidney tumor and 14 cases of right kidney tumor. The median tumor diameter was 2.2(1.0-3.5) cm. The median time of warm ischemia was 17.7(7.1-29.2) minutes, and all of them were less than 30 minutes. The median docking time was 4.7(2.3-9.9) minutes, and the median time of robotic arm operation was 65.0 (37.0-155.0) minutes. The median National Aeronautics and Space Administration Task Load Index (NASA-TLX) score was 5.3 (2.0-28.0), and no instrument-related adverse events occurred intraoperatively. The median postoperative hospital stay was 4 (4-5) days. All tumor margins were negative on pathologic reports. No Clavien Ⅱ stage operative complications occurred in all patients during perioperative period and 1 month after the surgery. Conclusions:The partial nephrectomy using the kangduo endoscopic surgical robot system were completed successfully, and no instrument-related adverse events and complications occurred, showing that this surgical system used for partial nephrectomy is safe and effective.

Objective: To analyze the prognostic factors of adult nonclear cell renal cell carcinoma (nccRCC). Methods: The clinical data of 286 patients with pathologically diagnosed one specific type of nccRCC after radical nephrectomy and nephron sparing surgery(NSS) in the affiliated hospital of Qingdao university followed up from January 2012 to January 2019 were retrospectively analyzed.There were 159 males and 127 females. Their age ranged from 17 to 81 years old, with an average age of 53. Based on the AJCC combination stage, 218 cases were in stage Ⅰ, 56 cases were in stage Ⅱ, 9 cases were in stage Ⅲ, 3 cases were in stage Ⅳ. Assay indicators were collected, including lymphocyte percentage(LY%)(31.5±10.5), neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio(NLR)(2.6±2.8), albumin(40.9±4.7)g/L, prealbumin(255.0±74.3)mg/L, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH)(201.0±174.0)U/L, creatine kinase isoenzyme (CK-MB)(20.0±62.1)U/L, total cholesterol(4.9±1.0)mmol/L, blood urea nitrogen/creatinine (BUN/Cr)(12.9±9.9), blood glucose(5.4±1.3)mmol/L, triglyceride(1.4±1.1)mmol/L, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C)(2.9±0.8)mmol/L. The optimal cut-off value of the above indexes were obtained by the receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC) in the SPSS software, and difference between high cut-off and low cut-off divided basing on the optimal cut-off value were evaluated respectively. The prognostic factors of adult nccRCC were evaluated by univariate and multivariate Cox proportional hazards regression analysis. Kaplan-Meier survival curve was used to study the survival relationship. The log-rank test were used to compare survival rate in two groups. The prognostic factors of nccRCC were analyzed after the results above were presented. Prognostic factors in renal chromophobe cell carcinoma and papillary cell carcinoma were analyzed by the same method. Results: The 286patients were followed up from 1 to 87 months, with an average of 43.9 months. The 3-year and 5-year survival rates were 93.8% and 89.3%, respectively. Results of univariate and multivariate Cox regression model revealed that AJCC combined staging (HR=2.38, 95%CI1.48-3.83), LDH(HR=2.99, 95%CI1.16-7.69), blood glucose (HR=4.13, 95%CI 1.74-9.78), CK-MB (HR=3.85, 95%CI1.63-9.08) were independent prognostic factors of nccRCC. NLR(HR=8.28, 95%CI1.66-41.35) and LDH(HR=9.82, 95%CI2.94-32.82) were the independent prognostic factor in the renal chromophobe cell carcinoma subgroup and the papillary renal cell carcinoma subgroup, separately. Conclusions AJCC combination stage, LDH, blood glucose and CK-MB are independent prognostic factors of adult nccRCC. Patients with low LDH, hypoglycemia, CK-MB and early AJCC stage have better prognosis. NLR is an independent predictor of renal chromophobe cell carcinoma, and the low NLR group has a better prognosis and higher survival rate. LDH is an independent predictor of papillary renal cell carcinoma and low LDH is beneficial to patients' prognosis. NLR and LDH can be used as a prognostic indicator for clinical evaluation in renal chromophobe cell carcinoma and papillary renal cell carcinoma, respectively.

Background: Oral cancer is a common type of head and neck cancers. Knowing its epidemiologic characteristics is crucial to preventing, diagnosing, and treating this cancer. This study aimed to explore the epidemiologic characteris?tics of oral cancer in South China. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed data from 4097 oral cancer patients treated at the Sun Yat?sen University Cancer Center between 1960 and 2013. We compared the age of onset, sex ratio, pathologic type, and primary tumor location among three subcultural areas (Guangfu, Hakka, and Chaoshan) and between an economically developed region and a less?developed one in Guangdong. Results: Overall, oral cancer had a male?to?female ratio of approximately 2:1, and this ratio decreased over time. Oral cancer occurred mostly in patients of 45–64 years old (54.5%), and the percentage of older patients gradually increased over time. The most common tumor location was the tongue. Squamous cell carcinoma was the predomi?nant pathologic type. The percentage of blood type O in oral cancer patients was lower than that in the healthy pop?ulation. The male?to?female ratio in the Chaoshan area was higher than that in the Guangfu and Hakka areas, whereas the age of disease onset in Guangfu was higher than that in Hakka and Chaoshan. The male?to?female ratio was lower and the age of disease onset was higher in the economically developed region than in the less?developed region. Conclusion: The incidence of oral cancer in South China presents typical characteristics to which doctors should pay attention when diagnosing and treating oral cancer patients.

Objective To observe the expression changes of 12 ischemia-related microRNAs (miRNA) in cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury after deep hypothermic low flow (DHLF) in mice.Methods A total of 80 3-w eek-old healthy and clean grade C57BL/6 male mice w ere randomly divided into either a DHLF model group or a sham operation group. Each group w as redivided into 4 subgroups according to the time points of 2, 6, 12, and 24 h (10 in each group). The bilateral carotid arteries of the DHLF model group w ere clipped and a DHLF model w as established, w hile the carotid arteries of the sham operation group w ere not clipped. The mice w ere sacrified at each time point and the brain tissue w as removed. The total RNA w as extracted. Quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction w as used to detect miRNA expression. Results Compared w ith the sham operation group, the expression levels of 9 miRNAs w ere upregulated, 2 w ere dow n-regulated, and 1 did not have any significant change in the DHLF model group. Conclusions The expression levels of 11 miRNAs changed significantly after DHLF. It might have a regulatory role in cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury after DHLF.

Objective To evaluate the role of pretreatment with docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) in the protective effect of angiopoietin-1 (Ang-1) on rat brain microvascular endothelial cells (BMVECs) during oxygen glucose deprivation (OGD).Methods BMVECs were sub-cultured in vitro and divided with a random number table into 7 groups:normal control group,normal control + Ang-1 group,OGD group,OGD + Ang-1 group,OGD + DHA group,OGD + DHA + Ang-1 group,and OGD + DHA + GW9662 + Ang-1 group.The normal control and normal control + Ang-1 groups were cultured in DMEM containing serum,5 mmol/L glucose,and 1.25 mmol/L pyruvate;OGD groups were cultured in glucose-and serum-free DMEM.DHA (40 μmol/L) was added to OGD + DHA,OGD + DHA + Ang-1,and OGD + DHA + GW9662 + Ang-1 groups,and 5 μmol/LGW9662 [inhibitor of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPAR-γ)] to OGD + DHA + GW9662 +Ang-1 group,before pretreatment for 1 hour in 5％ CO2 and 95％ air.After the pretreatment,Ang-1 (250 ng/ml)was added to normal control + Ang-1,OGD + Ang-1,OGD + DHA + Ang-1,and OGD + DHA + GW9662 +Ang-1 groups.The cells were cultured in 94％ N2∶ 5％ CO2∶ 1％ O2 for 24 hours,except for normal control and normal control + Ang-1 groups,which were cultured in 5％ CO2 and 95％ air instead.The cell apoptosis rate was detected with flow cytometry,expressions of Bax,Bcl-2,caspase-3,Tie-1,Tie-2,pTie-2,pAkt,ZO-1proteins with Western blot.Results Compared with normal control group,the cell apoptosis rate in OGD,OGD + Ang-1,OGD + DHA,OGD + DHA + Ang-1,and OGD + DHA + GW9662 + Ang-1 groups were significantly increased (P =0.000,0.000,0.000,0.004,0.000);the expression levels of Bax,caspase-3,and Tie-1 were significantly enhanced (Bax:0.62 ± 0.03,0.38 ± 0.03,0.45 ± 0.03,0.26 ± 0.02,0.33 ± 0.02vs.0.16 ±0.01;caspase-3:0.76 ±0.05,0.42 ±0.04,0.52 ±0.02,0.32 ±0.02,0.40 ±0.02 vs.0.15 ±0.01;Tie-1:0.51 ±0.03,0.25 ±0.01,0.33 ±0.02,0.16±0.01,0.22±0.02 vs.0.12 ±0.01;all P=0.000);the expression levels of Bcl-2,Bcl-2/Bax,Tie-2,and pTie-2 were significantly decreased [Bcl-2:0.09±0.01,0.20±0.01,0.16±0.02,0.31±0.01,0.22±0.01 vs.0.34±0.01;Bcl-2/Bax:(14.93±1.86)％,(68.03±5.56)％,(36.93 ±2.22)％,(119.1 ±13.3)％,(64.23 ±6.07)％ vs.(208.33 ±7.37)％;Tie-2:0.07±0.01,0.16±0.02,0.11 ±0.01,0.21±0.01,0.18±0.01 vs.0.26±0.01;pTie-2:0.05±0.01,0.15 ±0.01,0.07 ±0.01,0.22 ±0.02,0.16±0.01 vs.0.27 ±0.01;allP=0.000],in addition,pAkt and ZO-1 in OGD,OGD + Ang-1,OGD + DHA,and OGD + DHA + GW9662 +Ang-1 groups were also significantly reduced (pAkt:0.13 ±0.01,0.26 ±0.01,0.14 ±0.01,0.28 ±0.02vs.0.39±0.02;ZO-1:0.08±0.01,0.18±0.01,0.10±0.01,0.19±0.01vs.0.23±0.02;allP=0.000).Compared with the OGD group,OGD + Ang-1 and OGD + DHA + Ang-1 groups demonstrated significantly reduced cell apoptosis (both P =0.000).Compared with normal control + Ang-1 group,the expression levels of pTie-2,pAkt,and ZO-1 were significantly decreased in OGD + Ang-1 and OGD + DHA +Ang-1 groups (pTie-2:0.15 ±0.01,0.22 ±0.02 vs.0.52 ±0.02;pAkt:0.26 ±0.01,0.37 ±0.04 vs.0.67 ± 0.05;ZO-1:0.18 ± 0.01,0.24 ± 0.02 vs.0.39 ± 0.05;all P =0.000).Compared with OGD +Ang-1 group,OGD + DHA + Ang-1 group had significantly decreased cell apoptosis and expression levels of Bax,caspase-3 and Tie-1,and significantly increased expressions of Bcl-2,Bcl-2/Bax,Tie-2,pTie-2,pAkt,and ZO-1 (all P =0.000),while OGD + DHA + GW9662 + Ang-1 group showed no significant differences in these indexes (P =0.202,0.770,0.382,0.448,0.233,0.736,0.143,0.526,0.495,0.670).Conclusion Pretreatment with DHA may enhance the protective effect of Ang-1 on rat BMVECs under the condition of OGD,possibly via activating PPAR-γ,suppressing Tie-1 expression,and hence amplifying the activation of Tie-2.
