Cardiac surgery is associated with high risks, significant trauma, and long recovery periods. With advances in cardiac surgery techniques, the mortality rate and incidence of complications have been steadily decreasing. Patient-reported outcomes have gradually become an important area of research in postoperative recovery of cardiac surgery. The use of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) in this field helps to reflect patients' physiological, psychological, and social functioning during recovery, and provides scientific evidence for clinical interventions, which may further improve prognosis and enhance patient recovery experience. This paper reviews the dimensions of PROMs in the field of cardiac surgery recovery, the current status of existing PROMs scales, and the progress of their application, while also identifies the limitations of the existing tools. Finally, it explores future research directions for PROMs in cardiac surgery patients.

In 2024, the European Society of Cardiology(ESC) and the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery(EACTS) jointly released an expert consensus document on the intraoperative and postoperative management of CABG grafts. This article provides a comprehensive Chinese translation and interpretation of the consensus, covering key topics including graft harvesting techniques(such as skeletonized vs. pedicled, endoscopic vs. open harvesting), optimal preservation solutions, mechanisms and prevention of graft spasm, and secondary prevention strategies involving antithrombotic and lipid-lowering therapies. Additionally, based on the current situation of clinical practice in China and the characteristics of the Chinese population, the article discussed some key issues in depth, put forward adaptive suggestions, and pointed out the future research direction. The translated consensus and accompanying commentary aim to facilitate the dissemination and application of ESC-endorsed recommendations in Chinese clinical settings, promoting more standardized and evidence-based graft management in CABG surgery.

Objective To prepare and study the immunogenicity of hepatitis B virus surface anti-gen (HBsAg)-tetanus toxoid (TT) conjugate vaccine. Methods Tr was activated by cyangen bromide and reacted with adipic acid dihydrazide, then HBsAg-TT conjugate was prepared by carbediimide. Conjugate, HBsAg or hepatitis B vaccine was injected subcutaneously into mice. Anti-HBsAg and HBsAg-specific T cell response elicited by these immunogens were assayed. Results New HBsAg-TT conjugate elicited higher levels of anti-HBsAg and HBsAg positive conversion rates after the immunization than did HBsAg alone or hepatitis B vaccine. Conjugate induced mesdy antibodies of the IgG2a subclass, while HBsAg alone or hepa-titis B vaccine mainly elicited anti-HBsAg in the IgG1 subclass. The number of IFN-γand IL-2 secreting T cells induced by conjugate was also significantly higher than that did by HBsAg or hepatitis B vaccine. Con-clusion This study indicated new HBsAg-TT conjugate can induce both stronger humoral and TH1 type of cellular immune response.
