Objective:To investigate the consistency of trichoscopic fields in androgenetic alopecia (AGA) patients by using scalp medical pigmentation (SMP) ink as visual marker, as well as the safety and durability. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on patients with AGA who visited the Medical Cosmetology Center, Hangzhou First People’s Hospital, Westlake University School of Medicine from April to August 2024. Trichoscopic images were captured immediately and three months after using SMP ink for visual marker. Each patient’s two trichoscopic images were imported into Photoshop CC 2019 software for processing to obtain the location information of the marker, the distance between the marker center and the image center, and pigments areas. Consistency of markers during repeated trichoscopy was evaluated by comparing distances between pigment center and image center. The difference in distance between the two time points (3-month distance minus immediate-post-marking distance) was defined as "distance difference". Patients were divided into the same-operator group and different-operator group based on whether the two trichoscopy examinations were performed by the same operator. The impact of operator changes on the consistency of markers during repeated trichoscopy was assessed by comparing the "distance difference" between the two groups. Additionally, patients were categorized into single-point, double-point, and triple-point groups according to the number of markers. The influence of marker quantity on consistency of the markers was evaluated by comparing the "distance difference" among these three groups. Pigment spread was assessed by comparing pigment actural area in repeated trichoscopic images. Adverse reactions and ink fading within three months were recorded. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 27.0 software. The normal distribution measurement data was expressed as Mean ± SD, and the non-normal distribution measurement data was expressed as M ( Q1, Q3). The Wilcoxon signed-rank test was applied for comparison of the distance between the marker center and the image center in the preceding and subsequent trichoscopic images. Mann-Whitney U test was applied for comparison between the same-operator group and the different-operator group, and the Kruskal-Wallis rank sum test was used for comparison among the single-point, double-point, and triple-point groups. The paired sample t-test was used for comparison of the pigment actural area during repeated measurements. P<0.05 indicated statistically significant differences. Results:A total of 22 male AGA patients (aged 24-43 years) were included, with 46 pigment points marked (8 single-point, 4 double-point, 10 triple-point). Same-operator and different-operator groups comprised of 13 and 9 patients, respectively. No significant difference was found in distances between marker center and image center immediately vs. 3 months post-marking [0.91 (0.62, 1.53) mm vs. 0.83 (0.62, 1.22) mm, Z=-0.83, P=0.408]. Comparisons of the "distance difference" between the same-operator and different-operator groups, and among the single-point, double-point, and triple-point groups, showed no statistically significant differences (all P> 0.05). Pigment areas increased by (0.11±0.12) mm 2 at 3 months ( t=-6.47, P<0.001). All pigments exhibited fading within 3 months but remained identifiable without touch-up. Adverse reactions were minimal: mild puncture-site bleeding was observed, with no pigment-related allergies, foreign-body reactions, or significant scarring. Conclusion:Single-point SMP pigment enables reliable and consistent visualization of trichoscopic measurement points in AGA patients, unaffected by operator changes. The method demonstrates clinical convenience, flexibility, high safety, and long-term durability.

Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of infraorbital rim drilling midface lift combined with composite lower blepharoplasty. Methods:Retrospective analysis of clinical data from the patients who underwent combined midface lift and lower blepharoplasty at Department of Medical Cosmetic Center, Affiliated Hangzhou First People’s Hospital, Westlake University School of Medical, between January 2022 and February 2024.The infraorbital rim drilling midface lift combined with lower blepharoplasty was performed via a subciliary incision approach. Through a subciliary incision, the herniated orbital fat was excised, followed by fixation of the orbital septum to the infraorbital rim periosteum. Drill holes were created at the medial and lateral infraorbital rim, and arcuate suspension of the midface was performed using 2-0 absorbable sutures (SXPP1A405). Postoperative follow-up assessed midface lifting outcomes and complication rates. The wrinkle severity rating scale (WSRS) was used to grade nasolabial folds pre- and postoperatively (5-point scale: higher scores indicating more pronounced folds). Patient-reported outcomes were assessed using the Face-Q questionnaire, evaluating: (1) overall facial satisfaction, (2) satisfaction with surgical results, and (3) satisfaction with decision (scale 0-100; higher scores indicating greater satisfaction/less decisional regret). Descriptive statistical methods were employed for data analysis. Results:A total of 43 patients were enrolled, comprising 7 males and 36 females, with a mean age of (50.6±12.2) years (range: 32-73 years). Postoperative follow-up averaged (11.9±4.6)months. All patients demonstrated significant improvement in lower eyelid bags, tear trough deformity, midface elevation, and nasolabial folds. Surgical complications included: residual lower eyelid fat ( n=5), intermittent fixation point pain persisting >1 month ( n=4), mild residual tear trough deformity ( n=4), and hematoma ( n=1). Nasolabial fold WSRS scores decreased from ( 3.7±0.9 ) points to(2.9±0.6)points following surgery. In 38 patients, Face-Q scores demonstrated high satisfaction levels: appearance-related satisfaction scored (80.9 ± 10.3)points and satisfaction with decision scored (82.4 ± 8.9)points, indicating favorable patient-reported outcomes. Conclusion:The infraorbital rim drilling-assisted midface lift combined with comprehensive lower blepharoplasty effectively corrects midface ptosis while addressing lower eyelid bags. This technique provides reliable fixation points through drilling, resulting in stable and long-lasting lifting outcomes with high patient satisfaction.

Both groups received routine echocardiography and 3D echocardiography to compare the parameters of routine echocardiography, and analyze the diagnostic efficacy of echocardiography for left ventricular configuration and systolic function in MI patients. Results:The heart rate and QRS interval of patients in the severe group were respectively higher than those in the mild group (t=3.910,6.336,P<0.05),respectively. The left ventricular end diastolic diameter (LVEDD),LVEDD index, left ventricular (LV) length,LV length index, left ventricular end diastolic volume (LVEDV),LVEDV index, left ventricular end systolic volume (LVESV),LVESV index,LV mass index (LVMI),relative wall thickness (RWT),and two-dimensional echocardiogram sphericity index (2D-SI) in the severe group were all higher than those in the mild group (t=27.729,14.509,11.745,8.182,24.171,32.989,25.988,20.994,22.707,6.331,20.603,P<0.05). The three-dimensional left ventricular ejection fraction (3D-LVEF) of the severe group was lower than that of the mild group, and the three-dimensional end diastolic velocity (3D-EDV) of blood flow,3D-EDV index, and three-dimensional echocardiogram sphericity index (3D-SI) of the severe group were all higher than those of the mild group (t=2.855,24.320,10.409,36.056,P<0.05). The results of receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve showed that the sensitivities of LVEDD index,LVEDV index,LVESV index,3D-LVEF,3D-EDV index, and 3D-SI were respectively 70.83%,68.47%,81.25%,71.58%,72.42% and 90.38% in diagnosing MI. The specificities of them were respectively 67.40%,65.06%,79.64%,68.10%,71.68% and 90.38%. The area under curve (AUC) values of the ROC curve were respectively 0.658,0.612,0.814,0.726,0.799 and 0.852. 3D-SI had the highest sensitivity and specificity in diagnosing left ventricular remodeling of MI patients. Conclusion:3D echocardiography has higher application value in MI,which can reflect the remodeling and systolic function of left ventricle. Among of them,3D-SI can better describe the remodeling of left ventricle of patients, and can serve as a reference for the research progress of clinical observation for MI.

Objective:To assess the predictive values of bioelectrical impedance analysis(BIA)-measured body fat indices to abnormal lipid profiles, and to preliminary propose optimal cut-off values of body fat in children and adolescents. Methods:Children and adolescents, aged 6-16 years, were selected from 30 schools (8 primary schools, 21 middle schools and one 12-year education school) in Dongcheng, Tongzhou, Fangshan and Miyun districts of Beijing by adopting a stratified cluster sampling method from November 2017 to January 2018.Questionnaire survey, body mass index(BMI), body fat mass index (FMI), fat mass percentage (FMP) and four lipid profiles were conducted. Results:A total of 14 309 participants, aged (11.0±3.3) years, were enrolled in the analysis, with 49.9% boys.In boys and girls, the percentile values ( P60- P95) fitted by FMI and FMP with K-median-coefficient of variation(LMS) method were taken as the cutting points, and P75 values were selected as the cut-off points of excessive body fat for their better sensitivity, specificity, predictive value and area under curve (AUC) for identification of abnormal lipid profiles.Boys with FMI above P75 accounted for 28% of the total population, and controlling boys with FMI below P75 could prevent dyslipidemia of 8%-57%.FMI in girl population occupied about 26% of the above, and controlling FMI in girl population below this cut-off point may prevent dyslipidemia from 8%-42%.FMP observed similar results to FMI.Assessed by FMI or FMP with P75 cut-off values, adiposity performed better than BMI for recognizing abnormal lipid profiles in boys (AUC: 52.4%-69.6% vs.50.2%-67.1%, P<0.05) rather than in girls ( P>0.05). In addition, when FMI or FMP beyond P90, the specificity of each abnormal lipid profiles was around 90%. Conclusions:The recommend cut-off points for body fat may be to assess children′s adiposity, and can be applied in preventive activities.

Circular RNAs are a group of novel non-coding RNA molecules, which form covalently closed continuous loop structures, lacking the terminal 5′ and 3′ ends. They are abundant in eukaryotes and have recently become an increasing area of research in the field of RNA. Circular RNAs have many functions, such as abundant expression, cell- or tissue-specific expression, and high resistance to RNase-induced degradation. They are closely related to tissue development and the occurrence and development of diseases, play an important role in the pathogenesis and development of a variety of diseases, and can be used as a novel molecular marker of some diseases. Therefore, this review summarizes the latest research progress of circular RNAs in the regulation of endocrine diseases to better understand the biological mechanisms underlying endocrine diseases.

Objective:To investigate the relationships between hyperuricemia and the incidence risk for cardiometabolic abnormity in children. Methods:Data were obtained from School-based Cardiovascular and Bone Health Promotion Program. In 2017, a total of 15 391 children aged 6-16 years in Beijing were selected through stratified cluster sampling at baseline survey. Follow-up investigation was conducted in 2019. Logistic regression model was used to analyze the relationships of uric acid quartiles and change in uric acid levels with incidence risks for cardiometabolic abnormity (hypertension, hyperglycemia and dyslipidemia). Results:A total of 8 807 children (4 376 boys, 4 431 girls) were included in the analysis, the average age of the children was (11.1±3.3) years at baseline survey. The adjusted odds ratios ( ORs) and 95% confidence intervals ( CIs) of incidence risk for hypertension in the third and fourth quartiles of the UA were 1.39 (1.11-1.75) and 1.56 (1.19-1.81), respectively. The ORs and 95% CIs of risk for high LDL-C in the second, third and fourth quartiles were 1.88 (1.16-3.05),1.98 (1.23-3.17) and 2.25 (1.42-3.57). The uric acid level increased by one standard deviation, the risk increased by 17% for hypertension and 27% for high LDL-C. The uric acid level increased by 10 μmol/L, the risk increased by 2.1% for hypertension and 2.9% for high LDL-C. The gender-stratified analysis showed that the similar results. The ORs and 95% CIs were 1.32 (1.09-1.60) and 1.50 (1.05-2.16) for hypertension, 1.90 (1.38-2.60) and 2.96 (1.58-5.52) for high TC, 1.78 (1.26-2.51) and 2.84 (1.60-5.03) for high LDL-C in the groups of newly diagnosed hyperuricemia and persistent hyperuricemia. Conclusions:Higher uric acid level was associated with increased incidence risks for hypertension, abnormal TC and LDL-C. Maintaining optimal uric acid level by children might contribute to the early prevention of cardiovascular diseases.

Objective:To analyze the influence of obesity status on the development of cardiometabolic disorders in school-age children. Methods:Information about children's body weight, body height and cardiovascular risk factors were collected in baseline survey in 2017 and follow-up survey in 2019. The school-age children were divided into four groups based on their baseline and follow-up obesity status, i.e. sustained non-obesity group, restored obesity group, newly classified obesity group, and persistent obesity group. Analysis of covariance was used to compare the difference of change in levels of cardiometabolic factors among the four groups. The multivariate logistic regression model was used to analyze the relationship between obesity status and the incidence risk of cardiometabolic disorders. Results:The present study included 11 379 school-age children (boys accounting for 49.6%). During the 2 years, the incidence of obesity was 3.2% (95% CI: 2.9%-3.5%) with the restoration ratio of obesity of 4.4% (95% CI: 4.0%-4.8%). Compared with the sustained non-obesity group, increases in SBP, DBP, TG, LDL-C and non-HDL-C were much higher in newly classified obesity group and persistent obesity group, but lower in restored obesity groups except for DBP (all P<0.05). In addition, the incidence risk of hypertension, high glucose, dyslipidemia and cardiometabolic disorders (≥2 risks) were much higher in newly classified and persistent obese children than in sustained non-obese children. No difference was found in incidence risks of most cardiovascular disorders between restored obese children and sustained non-obese children, except for hypertension and cardiometabolic risks. Conclusion:Both newly classified obesity and persistent obesity increased the incidence risks for multi cardiovascular disorders, while these risks could be reduced when non-obese status restore.
