Mitophagy,a special form of selective autophagy,plays a significant role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis by regulating cellular lipid metabolism,inflammation,and oxidative stress.However,its regulatory mech-anism is complex and has not been fully elucidated.Notably,many drugs and herbal ingredients exhibit anti-atherosclerot-ic effects by modulating mitophagy in macrophages,vascular endothelial cells,and vascular smooth muscle cells,offering potential new avenues for the prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis.In this article,we review the role of mitophagy in regulating cellular functions and the progression of atherosclerosis,as well as summarize potential therapeutic drugs that may contribute to anti-atherosclerosis by modulating mitophagy.Our aim is to provide a new literature basis for further ex-ploration of the role of mitophagy in atherosclerosis.

The crux to improve the survival rate and prognosis of OSCC patients lies in the early diagnosis and intervention of this disease. Hence, exploring new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for OSCC is therefore an urgent priority. Exosomes, the small membrane vesicles originated from endosomes, have been detected in a wide array of bodily fluids. Exosomes have biological properties of derived cells based on containing a diversity of proteins, lipids, DNA fragments, mRNAs, and non-coding RNAs, including microRNAs, long non-coding RNAs, piRNAs, circular RNAs, tsRNAs, and ribosomal RNAs, which are delivered to neighboring cells or even transported to distant sites. They participate in cellular communication as well as play an important role in many diseases and immune response. Exosomes have been associated with the tumorigenesis of OSCC, promoting the proliferation, colonization, and metastasis of OSCC by transferring their cargos to the target cells. Furthermore, exosomes participate in the regulation of the tumor microenvironment to affect cancer progression in vivo. In this review, we summarize the crucial role of exosomes in the tumorigenesis and progression of OSCC and discuss the potential clinical application of exosomes in OSCC treatment.

As a general anesthetic,esketamine has the advantages of sedation,analgesia,and slight respiratory depression within the clinical dose range,which is suitable for preoperative sedation in children.Intravenous injection is mostly used in clinical practice,but nasal dropping is not affected by the venous access and has a rapid onset time with no first pass effect.The recommended nasal dose of esket-amine is 1 mg/kg,with reliable sedation effect and few adverse reactions.When combined with dexmedeto-midine or midazolam,sedation onset time of esketamine can be significantly shortened,the respective drug dosage can be reduced,and postoperative pain can be alleviated.Nasal dropping alone or combined with dexmedetomidine can be safely used in children with congenital heart disease complicated by pulmonary hy-pertension,which helps to maintain the stability of hemodynamic.This article summarizes the current situa-tion of clinical application of nasal dropping of esketamine to provide reference for its rational application.

Atherosclerosis is the pathological basis of a variety of cardiovascular diseases,which are still the leading cause of human death worldwide.Ferroptosis is a kind of iron dependent non-apoptotic cell death mode,which is closely related to various physiological mechanisms.Recent studies have found that ferroptosis in macrophages plays an important role in the occurrence and development of atherosclerosis.Based on the imbalance of iron metabolism in macrophages,this paper reviews the correlation between ferroptosis in macrophages and atherosclerosis in terms of the interaction between ferroptosis in macrophages and lipid peroxidation,inflammation,oxidative stress,etc.,in order to provide new ideas for the study of the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis.

Mononuclear macrophages are versatile cells that can have different responses to various microenvironmental signals. Under different stimuli of circumstances, macrophages can be fully polarized into classically activated macrophages (M1) and alternatively activated macrophages (M2), which are the extremes of a continuum of functional states. Nuclear factor-κB, cyclooxygenase 2, anoxia status, proto-oncogene MYC, Toll-like receptor signaling pathway, Notch signaling pathway and cytokines are all closely involved in the transition of tumor-associated macrophages from M1 to M2 phenotype. Macrophages that infiltrate tumor tissues are driven by tumor-derived cytokines to acquire a polarized M2 phenotype. These functionally polarized cells play a key role in the subversion of adaptive immunity and in inflammatory circuits that promote tumor development and progression. Exosomes derived from tumors have the characteristics of tumor cells and could participate in multiple processes of tumorigenesis and development. This review focused on exosomes derived from various cancer cells and discussed the role of the payloads of tumor-derived exosomes in modulating macrophage polarization in the tumor immune microenvironment and the intracellular signal mechanisms involved.

Objective To study the anti-inflammatory,antitussive,and analgesia effects of Jinhua qingre capsules.Methods The anti-inflammatory effect was assessed by the methods include xylene-induced mouse auricular swelling and histamine-induced pigment oozing from skin vessel in rats;The antitussive and analgesic effect were assessed by ammonia water induced cough model and acetic acid-induced twisting method.Results In anti-inflammation experiment,the high dose (12 g·kg-1) and moderate (6 g·kg-1) groups of Jinhua qingre capsules showed significant inhibitory effect on auricular swelling and significant difference compared with control group (P ＜ 0.01,P ＜ 0.05.);the high dose (10 g· kg-1) and moderate dose (5 g·kg-1) groups of Jinhua Qingre capsules play a marked inhibitory role in the increase in mouse peritoneal capillary permeability (P ＜ 0.01,P ＜ 0.05).In antitussive experiment,high dose (12 g· kg-1) and moderate dose (6 g· kg-1) groups had significant inhibitory effect on cough caused by ammonia water (P ＜ 0.01,P ＜ 0.05) compared with control group.In analgesic experiment,the high dose (12 g·kg-1),moderate dose (6 g·kg-1),and low dose (3 g·kg-1) groups effectively reduced the writhing frequency of mice (P ＜ 0.01,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Jinhua qingre capsules have potential effects on anti-inflammatory,antitussive,and analgesic.

Objective To compare the efficacies of the treatment of sternal fracture with wire fixation and the titanium sternal fixation system. Methods Thirty patients with sternal fracture from May 2003 to July 2009 were followed up. Among them,there were 20 patients with wire fixation (wire fixation group), 10 patients with the titanium sternal fixation system (titanium sternal fixation system group). The conditions before, during and after operation,complications and effects were compared to evaluate the effieaeies of titanium sternal fixation system. Results The operative time of titanium sternal fixation system group and wire fixation group were (67.0 ± 7.9) min and (90.0 ± 8.6) min, the blood loss were (11.0 ± 5.4) ml and (48.0 ± 8.4)ml,the duration of drainage were (0.5 ± 0.4) days and (1.9 ± 0.7) days,the amount of drainage were (1.9 ± 1.3) ml and (19.0 ± 4.6) ml, the average hospitalized days were (2.3 ± 0.5) days and (6.9 ± 0.9) days, the duration of pain were (1.5 ± 0.5) days and (3.8 ± 1.1) days, there were all significant difference between two groups (P < 0.05). The rates of wound infection, delayed union or nonunion, re-fracture,plate fracture or plate shift of wire fixation group were 5% (1/20) ,5% (1/20) ,5% (1/20), 10% (2/20). But the rates of titanium sternal fixation system group were 0, there were all significant difference between two groups (P < 0.05). Conclusion The treatment of sternal fracture with titanium sternal fixation system is a simple and stable fixation,high bone union rate and few complications,especially for the sternal fracture.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects of direct intratumor injection of the packaged cells with retroviral vector carrying human endostatin (hEN) on the growth inhibition of B16 melanoma in C57/BL6 mice.

METHODSRetroviral vector, pLNC-hEN, was constructed with modified and identified hEN gene. The cell line, PA317, was used to establish ecotropic virus producing cells by transfecting and packing with pLNC-hEN. Then the cells were injected directly into the tumor in C57/BL6 mice bearing B16 melanoma, established by intra-cutaneous injection of B16 cell suspension. The tumor size was measured at different intervals to observe the antitumor effect. Micro-vessel density (MVD) in the tumor tissue was evaluated by immunohistological examination to count the apoptotic cells by TUMEL staining.

RESULTSTumor with diameter of 2 - 3 mm was observed in all mice after 7 - 9 days. The average tumor volume on D3, D5, D7 and D9 after gene transfection was 4.67 +/- 1.1, 22.25 +/- 13.06, 84.17 +/- 43.5 and 155.08 +/- 81.1 mm(3) in the gene therapy group but 136.17 +/- 30.61, 390.17 +/- 220.47, 1 021.67 +/- 537.4 and 2 920.2 +/- 220.01 mm(3) in the control group, the difference of which was statistically significant. The average MVD in the gene therapy and control groups were 8 +/- 2.28 and 28.17 +/- 5.31 while the average apoptotic cell number in the two groups were 23.33 +/- 3.83 and 2.33 +/- 1.21, both of which were statistically significant.

CONCLUSIONThe direct injection of packaged cells carrying hEN gene is able to inhibit the growth of micro-blood vessels and promote tumor cell apoptosis, which ultimately inhibits the growth of B16 melanoma.
