Objective: To analyze the demographic characteristics of patients with red blood cell transfusion reactions, the usage of red blood cell preparations, and the differences in the composition ratio of adverse reactions based on multi-center data from the Haemovigilance Network, in order to reveal the clinical characteristics of red blood cell transfusion and its underlying issues. Methods: Clinical data of patients who experienced transfusion reactions after red blood cell transfusion in the Haemovigilance Network from 2018 to 2023 were collected. The demographic characteristics of patients who experienced transfusion reactions with different types of red blood cell preparations, the utilization of these preparations, and the differences of the composition ratios of transfusion reactions were analyzed. Count data were expressed as numbers (n) or percentages (%), and comparisons between groups were performed using the Chi-square test. Results: Red blood cell transfusion reactions were more common in females (53.56%), with the majority of patients aged 50-69 years (35.54%). The Han polulation accounted for the vast majority of patients (92.77%), and patients in the hematology and obstetrics/gynecology departments had a relatively high proportion of transfusion reactions (13.26% and 14.26%, respectively). Leukocyte-reduced red blood cells and suspended red blood cells were the most common types of transfusion reactions reported among red blood cell preparations. Allergic reactions and non-hemolytic febrile reactions were the most common transfusion reactions, and there were significant differences in the composition ratios of allergic reactions (χ =869.89, P<0.05) and non-hemolytic febrile reactions (χ =812.75, P<0.05) across various types of red blood cell preparations. Conclusion: There are differences in the demographic characteristics and composition ratio of transfusion reactions among different red blood cell preparations. The management of red blood cell transfusion reactions should be tailored to patient characteristics and conditions, and the selection and use of blood products should be optimized to reduce or avoid the occurrence of transfusion reactions, such as considering the use of washed red blood cells for patients with a history of transfusion allergies or those prone to allergies.

Objective To investigate the effectiveness of the integrated schistosomiasis control programme in Sichuan Province during the stage moving from transmission interruption to elimination (2015—2023), so as to provide insights into formulation of the schistosomiasis control measures during the post-elimination stage. Methods Schistosomiasis control data were retrospectively collected from departments of health, agriculture and rural affairs, forestry and grassland, water resources, and natural resources in Sichuan Province from 2015 to 2023, and a database was created to document examinations and treatments of human and livestock schistosomiasis, and snail survey and control, conversion of paddy fields to dry fields, ditch hardening, rivers and lakes management and building of forests for snail control and schistosomiasis prevention. The completion of schistosomiasis control measures was investigated, and the effectiveness was evaluated. Results A total of 20 545 155 person-times received human schistosomiasis examinations in Sichuan Province during the period from 2015 to 2023, and 232 157 person-times were seropositive, with a reduction in the seroprevalence from 2.10% (44 299/2 107 003) in 2015 to 1.12% (9 361/837 896) in 2023 (χ² = 7.68, P < 0.001). The seroprevalence of human schistosomiasis appeared a tendency towards a decline in Sichuan Province over years from 2015 to 2023 (b = −8.375, t = −10.052, P < 0.001); however, no egg positive individuals were identified during the period from 2018 to 2023, with the prevalence of human Schistosoma japonicum infections maintained at 0. Expanded chemotherapy was administered to 2 754 515 person-times, and medical assistance of advanced schistosomiasis was given to 6 436 persontimes, with the treatment coverage increasing from 46.80% (827/1 767) in 2015 to 64.87% (868/1 338) in 2023. Parasitological tests for livestock schistosomiasis were performed in 35 113 herd-times, and expanded chemotherapy was administered to 513 043 herd-times, while the number of fenced livestock decreased from 121 631 in 2015 to 103 489 in 2023, with a reduction of 14.92%. Snail survey covered 433 621.80 hm² in Sichuan Province from 2015 to 2023, with 204 602.81 hm² treated by chemical control and 4 637.74 hm² by environmental modifications. The area of snail habitats decreased from the peak of 5 029.80 hm² in 2016 to 3 709.72 hm² in 2023, and the actual area of snail habitats decreased from the peak of 8 585.48 hm² in 2016 to 473.09 hm² in 2023. The mean density of living snails remained low across the study period except in 2017 (0.62 snails/0.1 m²). Schistosomiasis control efforts by departments of agriculture and rural affairs in Sichuan Province included conversion of paddy fields to dry fields covering 153 346.93 hm², hardening of 6 110.31 km ditches, building of 70 356 biogas digesters, replacement of cattle with 227 161 sets of machines, and captive breeding of 21 161 070 livestock from 2015 to 2023, and the control efforts by departments of water resources included rivers and lakes management measuring 5 676.92 km and renovation of 2 331 irrigation areas, while the control efforts by departments of forestry and grassland included building of forests for snail control and schistosomiasis prevention covering 23 913.33 hm², renovation of snail control forests covering 8 720 hm² and newly building of shelterbelts covering 764 686.67 hm². All 63 endemic counties (cities and districts) had achieved the criterion for schistosomiasis elimination criteria in Sichuan Province by the end of 2023. Conclusion Following the integrated control efforts from 2015 to 2023, remarkable achievements have been obtained in the schistosomiasis control programme in Sichuan Province, with all endemic counties successfully attaining the schistosomiasis elimination target at the county level.

This study investigated the effects and underlying mechanisms of vanillic acid(VA) against cardiac fibrosis(CF) induced by isoproterenol(ISO) in mice. Male C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into control group, VA group(100 mg·kg~(-1), ig), ISO group(10 mg·kg~(-1), sc), ISO + VA group(10 mg·kg~(-1), sc + 100 mg·kg~(-1), ig), ISO + dynamin-related protein 1(Drp1) inhibitor(Mdivi-1) group(10 mg·kg~(-1), sc + 50 mg·kg~(-1), ip), and ISO + VA + Mdivi-1 group(10 mg·kg~(-1), sc + 100 mg·kg~(-1), ig + 50 mg·kg~(-1), ip). The treatment groups received the corresponding medications once daily for 14 consecutive days. On the day after the last administration, cardiac functions were evaluated, and serum and cardiac tissue samples were collected. These samples were analyzed for serum aspartate aminotransferase(AST), lactate dehydrogenase(LDH), creatine kinase-MB(CK-MB), cardiac troponin I(cTnI), reactive oxygen species(ROS), interleukin(IL)-1β, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, IL-18, and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) levels, as well as cardiac tissue catalase(CAT), glutathione(GSH), malondialdehyde(MDA), myeloperoxidase(MPO), superoxide dismutase(SOD), total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC) activities, and cytochrome C levels in mitochondria and cytoplasm. Hematoxylin-eosin, Masson, uranium acetate and lead citrate staining were used to observe morphological and mitochondrial ultrastructural changes in the cardiac tissues, and myocardial injury area and collagen volume fraction were calculated. Flow cytometry was applied to detect the relative content and M1/M2 polarization of cardiac macrophages. The mRNA expression levels of macrophage polarization markers [CD86, CD206, arginase 1(Arg-1), inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS)], CF markers [type Ⅰ collagen(Coll Ⅰ), Coll Ⅲ, α-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA)], and cytokines(IL-1β, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, IL-18, TNF-α) in cardiac tissues were determined by quantitative real-time PCR. Western blot was used to detect the protein expression levels of Coll Ⅰ, Coll Ⅲ, α-SMA, Drp1, p-Drp1, voltage-dependent anion channel(VDAC), hexokinase 1(HK1), NOD-like receptor protein 3(NLRP3), apoptosis-associated speck-like protein(ASC), caspase-1, cleaved-caspase-1, gasdermin D(GSDMD), cleaved N-terminal gasdermin D(GSDMD-N), IL-1β, IL-18, B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2), B-cell lymphoma-xl(Bcl-xl), Bcl-2-associated death promoter(Bad), Bcl-2-associated X protein(Bax), apoptotic protease activating factor-1(Apaf-1), pro-caspase-3, cleaved-caspase-3, pro-caspase-9, cleaved-caspase-9, poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase-1(PARP-1), and cleaved-PARP-1 in cardiac tissues. The results showed that VA significantly improved cardiac function in mice with CF, reduced myocardial injury area and cardiac index, and decreased serum levels of AST, CK-MB, cTnI, LDH, ROS, IL-1β, IL-6, IL-18, and TNF-α. VA also lowered MDA and MPO levels, mRNA expressions of IL-1β, IL-6, IL-18, and TNF-α, and mRNA and protein expressions of Coll Ⅰ, Coll Ⅲ, and α-SMA in cardiac tissues, and increased serum levels of IL-4 and IL-10, cardiac tissue levels of CAT, GSH, SOD, and T-AOC, and mRNA expressions of IL-4 and IL-10. Additionally, VA ameliorated cardiac pathological damage, inhibited myocardial cell apoptosis, inflammatory infiltration, and collagen fiber deposition, reduced collagen volume fraction, and alleviated mitochondrial damage. VA decreased the ratio of F4/80~+CD86~+ M1 cells and the mRNA expressions of CD86 and iNOS in cardiac tissue, and increased the ratio of F4/80~+CD206~+ M2 cells and the mRNA expressions of CD206 and Arg-1. VA also reduced protein expressions of p-Drp1, VDAC, NLRP3, ASC, caspase-1, cleaved-caspase-1, GSDMD, GSDMD-N, IL-1β, IL-18, Bad, Bax, Apaf-1, cleaved-caspase-3, cleaved-caspase-9, cleaved-PARP-1, and cytoplasmic cytochrome C, and increased the expressions of HK1, Bcl-2, Bcl-xl, pro-caspase-3, pro-caspase-9 proteins, as well as the Bcl-2/Bax and Bcl-xl/Bad ratios and mitochondrial cytochrome C content. These results indicate that VA has a significant ameliorative effect on ISO-induced CF in mice, alleviates ISO-induced oxidative damage and inflammatory response, and its mechanism may be closely related to the inhibition of Drp1/HK1/NLRP3 and mitochondrial apoptosis signaling pathways, suppression of myocardial cell inflammatory infiltration and collagen fiber deposition, reduction of collagen volume fraction and CollⅠ, Coll Ⅲ, and α-SMA expressions, thus mitigating CF.

BACKGROUND: The use of inserted sham acupuncture as a placebo in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) is controversial, because it may produce specific effects that cause an underestimation of the effect of acupuncture treatment. OBJECTIVE: This systematic survey investigates the magnitude of insert-specific effects of sham acupuncture and whether they affect the estimation of acupuncture treatment effects. SEARCH STRATEGY: PubMed, Embase and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials were searched to identify acupuncture RCTs from their inception until December 2022. INCLUSION CRITERIA: RCTs that evaluated the effects of acupuncture compared to sham acupuncture and no treatment. DATA EXTRACTION AND ANALYSIS: The total effect measured for an acupuncture treatment group in RCTs were divided into three components, including the natural history and/or regression to the mean effect (controlled for no-treatment group), the placebo effect, and the specific effect of acupuncture. The first two constituted the contextual effect of acupuncture, which is mimicked by a sham acupuncture treatment group. The proportion of acupuncture total effect size was considered to be 1. The proportion of natural history and/or regression to the mean effect (PNE) and proportional contextual effect (PCE) of included RCTs were pooled using meta-analyses with a random-effect model. The proportion of acupuncture placebo effect was the difference between PCE and PNE in RCTs with non-inserted sham acupuncture. The proportion of insert-specific effect of sham acupuncture (PIES) was obtained by subtracting the proportion of acupuncture placebo effect and PNE from PCE in RCTs with inserted sham acupuncture. The impact of PIES on the estimation of acupuncture's treatment effect was evaluated by quantifying the percentage of RCTs that the effect of outcome changed from no statistical difference to statistical difference after removing PIES in the included studies, and the impact of PIES was externally validated in other acupuncture RCTs with an inserted sham acupuncture group that were not used to calculate PIES. RESULTS: This analysis included 32 studies with 5492 patients. The overall PNE was 0.335 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.255-0.415) and the PCE of acupuncture was 0.639 (95% CI, 0.567-0.710) of acupuncture's total effect. The proportional contribution of the placebo effect to acupuncture's total effect was 0.191, and the PIES was 0.189. When we modeled the exclusion of the insert-specific effect of sham acupuncture, the acupuncture treatment effect changed from no difference to a significant difference in 45.45% of the included RCTs, and in 40.91% of the external validated RCTs. CONCLUSION The insert-specific effect of sham acupuncture in RCTs represents 18.90% of acupuncture's total effect and significantly affects the evaluation of the acupuncture treatment effect. More than 40% of RCTs that used inserted sham acupuncture would draw different conclusions if the PIES had been controlled for. Considering the impact of the insert-specific effect of sham acupuncture, caution should be taken when using inserted sham acupuncture placebos in RCTs. Objective To analyze the characteristics and risk factors associated with postoperative deep vein thrombosis(DVT)of the lower extremities in patients undergoing surgery for lumbar degenerative diseases.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on clinical data from 298 patients who were hospitalized for lumbar degenerative diseases and underwent lumbar spine surgery treatment in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from October 1,2022 to April 15,2023.Patients were divided into DVT group(n=71)and non-DVT group(n=227)according to whether DVT of the lower limbs occurred within 1 week postoperatively.The incidence and distribution characteristics of postoperative DVT were analyzed.Univariate and binary logistic regression analyses were performed to identify risk factors for DVT,and receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves were used to determine cut-off values for relevant risk factors.Results A total of 298 patients were included,among whom 159 were males(53.4%)and 139 were females(46.6%),with an average age of(64.5±9.8)years.DVT occurred in 71 patients,and the incidence of lower extremity DVT was 23.8%.In the DVT group,there were 49 cases(69.0%)of intermuscular vein thrombosis,and 22 cases of other types of thrombosis(7 cases of peroneal vein thrombosis,4 cases of posterior tibial vein thrombosis,3 cases of common femoral vein thrombosis,1 case of anterior tibial vein thrombosis,and 7 cases of multiple thrombosis);58 cases(81.7%)had DVT in one lower extremity,and 13 cases(18.3%)had DVT in both lower extremities.Univariate analysis results showed that age,body mass index(BMI),length of hospital stay,history of hypertension,operative time,and intraoperative blood loss were associated with the occurrence of lower extremity DVT after surgery for lumbar degenerative diseases(P<0.05).Binary logistic regression analysis results indicated that older age(OR=1.079,P<0.01),higher BMI(OR=1.130,P=0.01),history of hypertension(OR=2.992,P<0.01),and larger intraoperative blood loss(OR=1.002,P=0.03)were independent risk factors for the occurrence of lower extremity DVT.ROC curve analysis demonstrated that patients with age>58.5 years,BMI>24.01 kg/m2,history of hypertension,and intraoperative blood loss>550 ml had a significantly increased risk of postoperative lower limb DVT.Conclusions The incidence of lower extremity DVT after surgery for lumbar degenerative disease is high,and intermuscular venous thrombosis is more common.Older age,higher BMI,history of hypertension,and larger intraoperative blood loss are independent risk factors for the occurrence of lower extremity DVT after surgery.

Coronary restenosis is an important cause of poor long-term prognosis in patients with coronary heart disease. Here, we show that lysine methyltransferase SMYD2 expression in the nucleus is significantly elevated in serum- and PDGF-BB-induced vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs), and in tissues of carotid artery injury-induced neointimal hyperplasia. Smyd2 overexpression in VSMCs (Smyd2-vTg) facilitates, but treatment with its specific inhibitor LLY-507 or SMYD2 knockdown significantly inhibits VSMC phenotypic switching and carotid artery injury-induced neointima formation in mice. Transcriptome sequencing revealed that SMYD2 knockdown represses the expression of serum response factor (SRF) target genes and that SRF overexpression largely reverses the inhibitory effect of SMYD2 knockdown on VSMC proliferation. HDAC3 directly interacts with and deacetylates SRF, which enhances SRF transcriptional activity in VSMCs. Moreover, SMYD2 promotes HDAC3 expression via tri-methylation of H3K36 at its promoter. RGFP966, a specific inhibitor of HDAC3, not only counteracts the pro-proliferation effect of SMYD2 overexpression on VSMCs, but also inhibits carotid artery injury-induced neointima formation in mice. HDAC3 partially abolishes the inhibitory effect of SMYD2 knockdown on VSMC proliferation in a deacetylase activity-dependent manner. Our results reveal that the SMYD2-HDAC3-SRF axis constitutes a novel and critical epigenetic mechanism that regulates VSMC phenotypic switching and neointimal hyperplasia.

Objective To analyze the relational factors influencing the formation of cauda equina redundant nerve roots(RNRs)of the lumbar spinal stenosis.Methods Clinical data of 116 patients with lumbar spinal stenosis treated from January 2016 to June 2019 were retrospectively analyzed.The patients were divided into redundant nerve roots(RNRs)group and non-RNRs group based on the presence or absence of RNRs on sagittal T2-weighted MRI.In the non-RNRs group,there were 74 patients,including 38 males and 36 females with an average age of(62.00±10.41)years old,the body mass index(BMI)was(23.09±2.22)kg.m-2;the maximum stenosis segment was L2-L3 in 12 cases,L3-L4 in 38,L4-L5 in 20,and L5S1 in 4,respec-tively.In the RNRs group,there were 42 patients,including 18 males and 24 females with an average age of(63.36±8.73)years old,the BMI was(22.63±2.60)kg·m-2;the maximum stenosis segment was L2-L3 in 3 cases,L3-L4 in 9,L4-L5 in 27 and L5S1 in 3,respectively.MRI was performed in the supine position to observe the conshape and morphology of the redundant nerve in the sagittal position.The preoperative low back and leg pain visual analogue scale(VAS),and preoperative Oswestry disability index(ODI)were analyzed,and the rate of spondylolisthesis and ligamentum flavum hypertrophy were compared.Si-multaneously,the inter-vertebral height,intervertebral foramen height,inter-vertebral height+vertebral height,median sagittal diameter at the inter-vertebral space level(DIW-MSD),median sagittal diameter at the pedicel level(DV-MSD),range of mo-tion(ROM)of the stenotic segment were measured and analyzed.Results Among the 116 patients with lumbar spinal stenosis,42 patients developed RNRs,with an incidence of 36.2％.There were no significant differences in gender,age,BMI,preopera-tive VAS for lumbar and leg pain and ODI between two groups(P＞0.05).There were statistically significant differences regard to the duration of symptoms and the rate of spondylolisthesis and ligamentum flavum hypertrophy(P＜0.05);the inter-vertebral height,intervertebral foramen height,inter-vertebral height+vertebral height,DIW-MSD,ROM of the stenotic segment were al-so significantly different between two groups(P＜0.05).However,there was no significant difference in DV-MSD between two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion The inter-vertebral height,inter-vertebral foramen height,inter-vertebral height+vertebral height,DIW-MSD and ROM of the stenotic segment were the crucial factors related to RNRs in lumbar spinal stenosis.

Background and Aims:There is currently no consensus on whether the pancreaticoduodenectomy with Heidelberg triangle operation(PDTRIANGLE)or the standard radical pancreaticoduodenectomy(PDSTANDARD)is more beneficial for patients with pancreatic cancer,and no large-scale multicenter studies have confirmed this.Therefore,this study was conducted to compare the clinical efficacy and safety of PDTRIANGLE and PDSTANDARD for treating pancreatic cancer through a Meta-analysis. Methods:Relevant literature comparing the two surgical approaches comparing the two surgical approaches for treating pancreatic cancer was screened from Chinese and English databases based on inclusion criteria.The search timeframe extended from the inception of the databases to May 2024,and Review Manager 5.3 software was used for Meta-analysis of the extracted outcome variables. Results:A total of 6 retrospective studies were included,comprising 658 patients,with 315 in the PDTRIANGLE group and 343 in the PDSTANDARD group.The Meta-analysis results showed that the operative time in the PDTRIANGLE group was longer than that in the PDSTANDARD group(OR=1.52,95％CI=0.42-2.61,P=0.007),the lymph node dissection rate was higher in the PDTRIANGLE group(OR=0.70,95％CI=-0.4-1.01,P＜0.000 01),and the R0 resection rate was also higher in the PDTRIANGLE group(OR=1.63,95％CI=1.03-2.58,P=0.04).The incidence rates of postoperative lymphatic fistula and diarrhea were higher in the PDTRIANGLE group compared to the PDSTANDARD group(OR=5.60,95％CI=1.81-17.29,P=0.003;OR=0.13,95％CI=0.07-0.20,P＜0.000 1).The length of hospital stay was longer in the PDTRIANGLE group(OR=0.40;95％CI=-0.14-0.65,P=0.003).The overall survival rates at 1 and 2 years were significantly better in the PDTRIANGLE group compared to the PDSTANDARD group(OR=2.19,95％CI=-1.27-3.76,P=0.005;OR=1.65,95％CI=-1.01-2.67,P=0.04),and the 1-year disease-free survival rate was also significantly higher in the PDTRIANGLE group(OR=3.71,95％CI=2.27-6.07,P＜0.000 01),although the difference in the 2-year disease-free survival rate between the two groups was not statistically significant(OR=2.63,95％CI=-0.91-7.59,P=0.07). Conclusion:PDTRIANGLE is a safe and effective treatment for pancreatic cancer.Compared to PDSTANDARD,PDTRIANGLE significantly improves the R0 resection rate,thereby enhancing the postoperative disease-free survival rate and achieving a better long-term prognosis.

Objective:To investigate the application value of transanal endoscopic intersphincteric resection (taE-ISR) in sphincter preservation for low rectal cancer.Methods:The pro-pensity score matching and retrospective cohort study was conducted. The clinicopathological data of 278 patients with low rectal cancer who were admitted to 5 medical centers, including Ruijin Hospital of Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine et al, from January 2017 to December 2021 were collected. There were 178 males and 100 females, aged 58 (range, 49-64)years. Of 278 pati-ents, 147 cases undergoing taE-ISR were divided into the taE-ISR group, and 131 cases undergoing intersphincteric resection (ISR) were divided into the ISR group. Observation indicators:(1) propen-sity score matching and comparison of general data of patients between the two groups after matching; (2) comparison of intraoperative and postoperative conditions between the two groups; (3) long-term follow-up of the two groups; (4) analysis of risk factors affecting sphincter preservation for low rectal cancer. Propensity score matching was done by the 1∶1 nearest neighbor matching method, with a caliper value of 0.05. Propensity score matching analysis was done using the Matching package. Measurement data with normal distribution were represented as Mean± SD, and comparison between groups was conducted using the Student′s t test. Measurement data with skewed distribution were represented as M( Q1, Q3), and comparison between groups was conducted using the Wilcoxon rank sum test. Count data were described as absolute numbers or percentages, and comparison between groups was conducted using the Pearson chi-square test or Fisher exact probability. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate survival rate and plot survival curve, and the Log-Rank test was used for survival analysis. Multivariate analysis was conducted using the Logistic regression model with the "glm2" package. The forest plot was used to show the risk factors affecting sphincter preservation for low rectal cancer. Results:(1) Propensity score matching and comparison of general data of patients between the two groups after matching. Of 278 patients, 180 cases were successfully matched, including 90 cases in the taE-ISR group and 90 cases in the ISR group, respectively. After propensity score matching, the elimination of distance between ischial tuberosities and distance from ischial tuberosity to the skin of buttocks confounding bias ensured comparability between the two groups. (2) Comparison of intraoperative and postoperative conditions between the two groups. Cases with positive distal margins, cases with specimen integrity, cases with sphincter preservation were 1, 88, 88 in the taE-ISR group and 8, 78, 74 in the ISR group, showing significant differences between the two groups ( P<0.05). (3) Long-term follow-up of the two groups. The median follow-up time was 4.3(range, 3.8-5.0)years of the taE-ISR group and 4.1(range, 3.4-4.7)years of the ISR group. The overall survival rate, disease-free survival rate and cumulative recurrence rate were 100.0%, 95.6% and 2.2% of the taE-ISR group, versus 98.9%, 87.8% and 10.0% of the ISR group, showing no significant difference in overall survival rate between the two groups ( χ2=0.97, P>0.05) and significant differences in disease-free survival rate and cumulative recurrence rate between the two groups ( χ2=4.05, 5.26, P<0.05). (4) Analysis of risk factors affecting sphincter preservation for low rectal cancer. Results of multivariate analysis showed that taE-ISR, distance from the tumor to the anus, and adjacent organ damage were independent factors affecting sphincter preservation for low rectal cancer ( odds ratio=0.86, 0.88, 1.35, 95% confidence interval as 0.79-0.93, 0.83-0.92, 1.04-1.74, P<0.05). In further analysis, there were significant differences in sphincter preservation and defecatory dysfunction between the 21 cases with neoadjuvant therapy in the taE-ISR group and the 19 cases with neoadjuvant therapy in the ISR group ( P<0.05). Conclusions:The taE-ISR is safe and feasible for patients with low rectal cancer. Compared with ISR, taE-ISR can significantly improve surgical quality, sphincter preservation rate and patient prognosis.
