Objective:To examine the effect of anemia on the prognosis of elderly patients with acute coronary syndrome. Methods:We searched PubMed, Scopus, OVID, the Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Embase, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Biology Medicine Disc, the WanFang and Weipu databases for studies on the association between anemia and the prognosis of acute coronary syndrome in elderly patients. The date range included the period from the establishment of the database to December 10, 2022.Two reviewers independently completed the literature screening and data extraction according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria for the literature.Stata 16.0 software was used to analyze the data. Results:Of 1 399 references retrieved from the initial search, 13 met the inclusion criteria, including a total of 9540 patients with a mean age of 70.3 years.2872 of these patients had concurrent anemia and 6 668 patients had no anemia. In elderly patients with acute coronary syndrome, those with anemia showed significantly increased risk of death, compared with those with no anemia( RR=2.28, 95% CI: 1.74-3.00). Anemia also increased the incidence of ischemia( RR=1.36, 95% CI: 1.13-1.64)and bleeding events( RR=2.18, 95% CI: 1.59-3.01)( P<0.05 for all). Conclusions:Anemia significantly increases the risk of death and is associated with poor prognosis in elderly patients with acute coronary syndrome.

Objective To identify the potential long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) expressed in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) synovium key to RA onset and investigate its association with immune cell infiltration. Methods RA synovium data were downloaded from the GEO database and normalized. The lncRNAs key to RA onset were identified using multiple machine learning methods. Infiltration of 22 immune cell populations in RA synovium was measured by cell-type identification by estimating relative subsets of RNA transcripts (CIBER-SORT). The relationship between the key lncRNA and infiltrating immune cells was analyzed. Finally, real-time quantitative PCR was applied to validate the expression of the key lncRNA in RA synovial cells. Results lncRNA human leukocyte antigen complex P5(HCP5) was identified as the key lncRNA associated with RA onset. Infiltration analysis revealed increased abundance of CD8+ T cells, γδ T cells, and M1 macrophages while decreased abundance of M2 macrophages in RA synovial tissue. Correlation analysis demonstrated that the lncRNA HCP5 expression was positively associated with the infiltration abundance of CD8+ T cells, γδ T cells, and M1 macrophages in RA synovial tissue. Furthermore, the expression of lncRNA HCP5 in RA synovial cells was up-regulated. Conclusion lncRNA HCP5 expression is up-regulated in RA synovial tissue and potentially associated with immune cells infiltration.

OBJECTIVE:To study the effects and active ingr edients of Tibetan medicine Lamiophlomis rotata against rheumatoid arthritis (RA). METHODS :Fifty-six SD rats were randomly divided into normal control group (0.5% sodium carboxymethylcellulose),model group (0.5% sodium carboxymethylcellulose ),methotrexate group (positive control group ,3 mg/kg),L. rotata water extract low-dose ,medium-dose and high-dose groups (0.5,1,2 g/kg,by crude drug ),L. rotata total flavonoid group (200 mg/kg,by flavonoid extat ),with 8 rats in each group. Except for normal control group ,other groups were given Freund ’s complete adjuvant (FCA)on the rat ’s right hind footpad to induce adjuvant-induced arthritis model. The next day after injection of FCA ,rats in all groups were given relevant medicine intragastrically ,once a day (once every 3 days for methotrexate group )for 30 days. At 15th and 30th day of administration ,the degree of paw swelling of left hind foot was measured, and the arthritis index ,spleen index were calculated. At the end of 30th day of administration ,the levels of TNF-α,IL-1β, IL-6 and IL- 10 in rat serum were determined by ELISA assay ,the thymus index and spleen index were calculated ,the pathological changes of the ankle joints were observed by HE staining. RESULTS :Compared with normal control group ,degree of paw swelling, arthritis index at 15th and 30th day of administration as well as the spleen index and the levels of TNF-α,IL-1β, msxmX0146) IL-6 in serum at 30th day of administration were significantly com increased in model group (P<0.01);while the thymus indexyunbinji- and IL- 10 level at 30th day of administration were ang@swu.edu.cn significantly decreased(P<0.01);synovial cell proliferation and infiltration of articular cavity were observed in ankle joint. Compared with model group ,degree of paw swelling ,arthritis index at 15th and 30th day of administration as well as the spleen index and the levels of TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6 in serum at 30th day of administration were significantly decreased in each medicine group (P<0.01);while the thymus index and IL- 10 level at 30th day of administration were significantly increased (P<0.01);the pathological changes of arthritis were significantly improved. Compared with L. rotata water extract high-dose group ,there were no significant differences in degree of paw swelling at 15th day of administration as well as the arthritis index ,spleen index ,levels of inflammatory cytokines and pathological changes of ankle joint in L. rotata total flavonoid group (P>0.05). Cancer Research and Treatment 2021;53(4):1042-1056
Purpose:
Drug resistance is one of the main causes of chemotherapy failure in patients with small cell lung cancer (SCLC), and extensive biological studies into chemotherapy drug resistance are required.
Materials and Methods:
In this study, we performed lncRNA microarray, in vitro functional assays, in vivo models and cDNA microarray to evaluate the impact of lncRNA in SCLC chemoresistance.
Results:
The results showed that KCNQ1OT1 expression was upregulated in SCLC tissues and was a poor prognostic factor for patients with SCLC. Knockdown of KCNQ1OT1 inhibited cell proliferation, migration, chemoresistance and promoted apoptosis of SCLC cells. Mechanistic investigation showed that KCNQ1OT1 can activate transforming growth factor-β1 mediated epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition in SCLC cells.
Conclusion
Taken together, our study revealed the role of KCNQ1OT1 in the progression and chemoresistance of SCLC, and suggested KCNQ1OT1 as a potential diagnostic and prognostic biomarker in SCLC clinical management.
