Depression, a mental health disorder, has emerged as one of the significant challenges in the global public health domain. Investigating the pathogenesis of depression and accurately assessing the symptomatic changes are fundamental to formulating effective clinical diagnosis and treatment strategies. Utilizing non-invasive brain imaging technologies such as functional magnetic resonance imaging and scalp electroencephalography, existing studies have confirmed that the onset of depression is closely associated with abnormal neural activities and altered functional connectivity in multiple brain regions. Magnetoencephalography, unaffected by tissue conductivity and skull thickness, boasts high spatial resolution and signal-to-noise ratio, offering unique advantages and significant value in revealing the abnormal brain mechanisms and neural characteristics of depression. This review, starting from the rhythmic characteristics, nonlinear dynamic features, and connectivity characteristics of magnetoencephalography in depression patients, revisits the research progress on magnetoencephalography features related to depression, discusses current issues and future development trends, and provides insights for the study of pathophysiological mechanisms, as well as for clinical diagnosis and treatment of depression.

Mitochondria play a crucial role as organelles, managing several physiological processes such as redox balance, cell metabolism, and energy synthesis. Initially, the assumption was that mitochondria primarily resided in the host cells and could exclusively transmit from oocytes to offspring by a mechanism known as vertical inheritance of mitochondria. Recent scholarly works, however, suggest that certain cell types transmit their mitochondria to other developmental cell types via a mechanism referred to as intercellular or horizontal mitochondrial transfer. This review details the process of which mitochondria are transferred across cells and explains the impact of mitochondrial transfer between cells on the efficacy and functionality of cancer cells in various cancer forms. Specifically, we review the role of mitochondria transfer in regulating cellular metabolism restoration, excess reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, proliferation, invasion, metastasis, mitophagy activation, mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) inheritance, immune system modulation and therapeutic resistance in cancer. Additionally, we highlight the possibility of using intercellular mitochondria transfer as a therapeutic approach to treat cancer and enhance the efficacy of cancer treatments.

Objective To look for cognitive assessment paradigms and electrocardiographic(ECG)characteristics sensitive to mental fatigue through an experimental study.Methods Data were collected from 10 healthy students of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology who participated in the 4-day National Undergraduate Electronics Design Contest,including their Stanford sleepiness scale(SSS)scores,sleep duration,cognitive task performance,and ECG signal data.Ten ECG features,including time-domain,frequency-domain,and information-domain characteristics,were extracted during cognitive tasks.The cognitive task performance and ECG features sensitive to changes in mental fatigue were analyzed.Results Significant differences were observed in SSS scores(x2=23.116,P＜0.001)and sleep duration(x2=19.608,P＜0.001)across the 4 d.For cognitive task performance,word-color congruent accuracy and word-color incongruent accuracy in the Stroop task and Single-visual target stimulus accuracy and Visual target-auditory non-target stimulus accuracy in the audiovisual competition task all showed significant negative correlations with SSS scores(all P＜0.05).Regarding ECG features,Poincaré plot SD2 during the Stroop task was positively correlated with sleep duration(P＜0.05),while Poincaré plot SD2 during the 2-back task was positively correlated with mental fatigue assessment scores and was negatively correlated with sleep duration(both P＜0.05).Conclusion The accuracy of the Stroop task and audiovisual competition task is a cognitive ability indicator sensitive to mental fatigue,while the Poincaré plot SD2 during Stroop and 2-back tasks is an ECG indicator sensitive to mental fatigue.

Perforin 2(MPEG 1)is a member of the MACPF(membrane attack complex/PRF membrane attack complex/perforin)superfamily,which is mainly secreted by cytotoxic T lymphocytes,natural killer cells and mac-rophages Through the formation of active pores on the target cell membrane,perforin 2 participates in altering the permeability-pressure of the target cell,or collaborates with granzymes to induce the apoptosis of target cells.Re-cently,with the development of molecular biology,MPEG 1 has been increasingly studied,and the unique gene se-quence and cell types of perforin 2 have specific functions and adaptive evolution in different immune cells,which may determine its performance and therapeutic potential in different disease states.

The in-depth research of artificial intelligence in the medical field has greatly improved the workflow and diagnostic ability of diagnostic radiology.This article focuses on artificial intelligence technology in the field of interventional medicine,and enumerates its potential application scenarios,including improving image analysis capabilities to assist diagnosis and predict treatment response.It also describes the challenges that need to be overcome for practical application.Finally,with the continuous development of artificial intelligence in interventional medicine,artificial intelligence will further optimize the channels of interventional medicine and bring revolutionary changes to the clinical practice of interventional medicine.

Tumor progression is closely related to tumor tissue metabolism and reshaping of the microenvironment. Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), a representative hypoxic tumor, has a heterogeneous internal metabolic environment. To clarify the relationship between different metabolic regions and the tumor immune microenvironment (TME) in OSCC, Single cell (SC) and spatial transcriptomics (ST) sequencing of OSCC tissues were performed. The proportion of TME in the ST data was obtained through SPOTlight deconvolution using SC and GSE103322 data. The metabolic activity of each spot was calculated using scMetabolism, and k-means clustering was used to classify all spots into hyper-, normal-, or hypometabolic regions. CD4T cell infiltration and TGF-β expression is higher in the hypermetabolic regions than in the others. Through CellPhoneDB and NicheNet cell-cell communication analysis, it was found that in the hypermetabolic region, fibroblasts can utilize the lactate produced by glycolysis of epithelial cells to transform into inflammatory cancer-associated fibroblasts (iCAFs), and the increased expression of HIF1A in iCAFs promotes the transcriptional expression of CXCL12. The secretion of CXCL12 recruits regulatory T cells (Tregs), leading to Treg infiltration and increased TGF-β secretion in the microenvironment and promotes the formation of a tumor immunosuppressive microenvironment. This study delineates the coordinate work axis of epithelial cells-iCAFs-Tregs in OSCC using SC, ST and TCGA bulk data, and highlights potential targets for therapy.

Objective:To study the relationship between adult fluoride exposure and grip strength in rural areas of China with fluorosis, as well as the roles of basal metabolic rate (BMR) and body fat percentage (BFP) in the association between fluoride exposure and grip strength.Methods:From April to May 2017, a cluster sampling method was used to conduct a questionnaire survey, physical examination, and biological sample collection on residents aged 18 - 60 in Tongxu County, Kaifeng City, Henan Province (epidemic areas of drinking-water-borne fluorosis). A total of 1 168 subjects were included in the study, including 427 males and 741 females. The fluoride ion selective electrode method and the picric acid method were used to determine the concentrations of urine fluoride and urine creatinine, and the adjusted urine fluoride concentration (CUF) was calculated. BMR and BFP were measured by a bioelectrical impendence method, and the grip strength was measured by a Jamar grip dynamometer. The relationship between CUF, BMR, BFP and grip strength were analyzed using a generalized linear model regression. The mediation effect model was used to assess the mediating effect of BMR and BFP on the association between CUF and grip strength.Results:Female grip strength decreased by 0.28 kg ( P = 0.043) for every 1.00 mg/L increment in CUF. No similar association was found between the two in males ( P = 0.744). Regardless of gender stratification, BMR was positively correlated with grip strength ( P < 0.001). For every 1.00% increase in BFP, female grip strength decreased by 0.18 kg ( P = 0.043). The mediation effect model analysis results showed that the mediation effect ratios of BMR and BFP in the association between CUF and grip strength in female were 65.1% ( P < 0.001) and 8.4% ( P = 0.111), respectively. Conclusion:Fluoride exposure is associated with changes in female grip strength, and BMR changes play a partial mediating role in the association between fluoride exposure and female grip strength.

Epilepsy is an episodic, transient, stereotypic brain dysfunction caused by highly synchronized abnormal neuronal discharges in the brain, with unpredictable timing of seizures, for which the main treatment modalities are antiepileptic drugs and surgery. Its diagnosis and treatment require a large number of aids and clinical experience. For multiple clinical aspects of epilepsy, such as seizure prediction, drug therapy prognosis, and surgical treatment evaluation, machine learning can incorporate multiple clinical and imaging factors through deep mining of data, establish corresponding learning models, improve the efficiency and accuracy of epilepsy diagnosis, realize individualized application of antiepileptic drugs, and improve the preoperative evaluation and prognosis of epilepsy patients.

Objective:To introduce a surgical technique of " short distances and multi-segment" buried-guiding suture method and its effects in the surgery of early descent of prosthesis after augmentation mammaplasty.Methods:From August 2019 to January 2022, 15 cases of early descent of prosthesis after augmentation mammaplasty due to axillary approach breast augmentation for micromastia were admitted to the Plastic Surgery Department of Sichuan Provincial People′s Hospital, aged 23-35 years (27.3±3.6) and duration of dislocation from 16 to 35 days (23.8±5.8). There were 12 patients showed unilateral prosthesis drops and 3 patients showed bilateral prosthesis drops. " Short distances and multi-segment" buried-guiding suture method was used to solve the problem, i. e., 2-0 non-absorbable sutures were used to eliminate the lower pole of prosthetic cavity with " short distances and multi-segment" sutures. The distance from the nipple to the midline of the sternum, the distance from the sternotomy to the nipple, the distance from the nipple to the inframammary fold and the distance from the midclavicular point to the inframammary fold were measured bilaterally before and after surgery, and statistical analysis was performed to evaluate the efficacy of the " short distances and multi-segment" buried-guiding suture method for early descent of prosthesis after breast augmentation.Results:All incisions healed by first intention without complications such as hematoma, infection, or scar hyperplasia. 15 patients were followed up for 6-12 months (8.0±1.9). 14 patients were satisfied with the results after surgery, and 1 patient received satisfactory results after secondary surgery. The distance from nipple to inframammary fold was shortened by 0.8-1.4 cm after surgery (1.2±0.2), and the distance from mid-clavicle to inframammary fold was shortened by 1.0-1.6 cm (1.3±0.4), and the differences were statistically significant as compared with the values before surgery ( t=31.17, P<0.05; t=33.78, P<0.05). After surgery, the change in the distance from nipple to sternal was 0.1-0.3 cm (0.16±0.10), and the change in the distance from sternal notch to nipple was 0-0.2 cm (0.12±0.10), and the differences were not statistically significant ( P>0.05). Conclusions:With the advantages of simple operation, little trauma and no additional incision, the " short distance and multi-stage" buried-guiding suture method in the surgery of early descent of prosthesis after augmentation mammaplasty is worthy of clinical application.

Experiential teaching is a practical, reflective, and situational teaching method. Based on the systematic review of literature published worldwide, this paper summarizes the characteristics and organizational forms of experiential teaching, with a focus on its current application and existing problems in teaching geriatric nursing. This review provides suggestions for the reform of teaching methods of geriatric nursing in China.
