OBJECTIVE To investigate the improving effect and mechanism of Wenyang huayu formula on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats based on nuclear factor-erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2)/glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) signaling pathway and mitochondrial ferroptosis pathway. METHODS SD rats were randomly divided into sham operation group, model group,Nimodipine tablet group (10.8 mg/kg ), and Wenyang huayu formula group (28 g/kg), with 24 rats in each group. Except for the sham operation group, rats in other groups were all subjected to middle cerebral artery occlusion model by Longa thread occlusion method. After successful modeling, rats in each administration group were intragastrically gavaged with corresponding liquid for 7 days or 14 days, while rats in sham operation group and model group were given equal volume of normal saline once a day. At 7 and 14 days after administration, neurological deficit scores of rats were calculated; the ultrastructure of neuronal mitochondria in ischemic brain tissue of rats was observed;the contents of malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione (GSH) and Fe 2+ , as well as the protein and mRNA expression levels of Nrf2, solute carrier family 7 member 11 (SLC7A11) and GPX4 in ischemic brain tissue of rats were detected. RESULTS At 7 and 14 days after administration, compared with the sham operation group, the neuronal mitochondria in ischemic brain tissue of rats in the model group showed typical changes of ferroptosis, and the injury continued to worsen over time; the neurological deficit scores, the contents of MDA and Fe 2+ were significantly increased ( P <0.05),while the content of GSH and the protein and mRNA expression levels of Nrf2, SLC7A11 and GPX4 were significantly decreased ( P <0.05). Compared with the model group, the morphology of neuronal mitochondria in ischemic brain tissue of rats in Nimodipine tablet group and Wenyang huayu formula group was gradually improved over time, and the above quantitative indicators were significantly reversed ( P <0.05);moreover, the improvement effect of most indicators in Wenyang huayu formula group was significantly better than that in Nimodipine tablet group ( P <0.05). CONCLUSIONS Wenyang huayu formula can improve cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats, and its mechanism may be related to activating Nrf2/GPX4 signaling pathway and inhibiting mitochondrial ferroptosis.

AIM:To explore the impact of chronic stress on postoperative cognitive dysfunction in rats and to elucidate the mechanistic link to histone deacetylase 2(HDAC2).METHODS:A repeated social defeat stress model and a prolonged isoflurane anesthesia model were established in mice. The rats were randomly assigned to four groups:control(Ctrl)group, isoflurane anesthesia(Iso)group, chronic social defeat stress(RSDS)group, and chronic social de-feat stress combined with isoflurane anesthesia(RSDS+Iso)group.Anxiety-like behaviors were evaluated using the social avoidance test and the novelty-suppressed feeding test.Cognitive function was assessed through the novel object recogni-tion test and the Morris water maze.Plasma corticosterone levels were measured via enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Primary hippocampal neurons were isolated from fetal mouse hippocampi and classified into four groups:con-trol group, chronic stress combined with prolonged isoflurane anesthesia(Cort+Iso)group,CAY-10683 intervention(CAY),and CAY-10683 treatment(CAY+Cort+Iso)group.Cell viability was determined using CCK-8 assay, and pro-tein expression levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)and HDAC2 were analyzed by Western blot.RE-SULTS:The RSDS mouse model was successfully established, with ELISA results indicating a significant increase in plasma corticosterone levels in mice subjected to chronic stress combined with prolonged isoflurane anesthesia.Behavioral assessments and Western blot analyses revealed that mice exposed to prolonged isoflurane anesthesia following chronic stress showed marked declines in cognitive function and hippocampal BDNF protein expression levels.Additionally, chronic stress significantly elevated HDAC2 protein expression in the hippocampi of mice undergoing prolonged isoflurane anesthesia.Treatment with an HDAC2 inhibitor reduced HDAC2 protein expression in primary hippocampal neurons sub-jected to chronic stress combined with prolonged isoflurane anesthesia, concurrently increasing BDNF protein expression levels.CONCLUSION:Chronic stress significantly worsens postoperative cognitive dysfunction induced by prolonged isoflurane anesthesia, associated with increased HDAC2 protein expression in the hippocampus.Inhibition of HDAC2 ef-fectively counteracts the reduction in BDNF,a protein crucial for cognitive function, caused by the combination of chronic stress and prolonged isoflurane anesthesia.

Based on the theory of "one qi circulation" founded by HUANG Yuanyu, the core disease mechanism of colorectal cancer is the innate spleen deficiency and stomach qi failing to bear downward, which leads to the turbidity assemble in large intestine, forming the carcinoma toxin, and ultimately transforms into colorectal cancer. The treatment should base on recovering the circulation of qi, Huangya Decoction (黄芽汤) as the basic formula, the circulation of qi ascending and descending as the base, adjusting ascending and descending together with Xiaqi Decoction (下气汤), and differentiating the syndrome on yin-yang excess-deficiency; for spleen-kidney yang deficiency syndrome, treated with Tianhun Decoction (天魂汤) to supplement liver, kidney and assist yang; for liver-kidney yin deficiency syndrome, treated wtih Dipo Decoction (地魄汤) to supplement lung, kidney, and assist yang. They jointly prompt one qi circulation to provide the thoughts for the treatment of colorectal cancer by traditional Chinese medicine.

Objective:To provide basis for personalized health interventions for military pilots by analyzing the longitudinal variation trend of waist circumference and its correlation with BMI and lipid metabolism indicators among military pilots. Methods:A retrospective analysis was used on the base of collecting the physical examination data of 323 pilots who had been consecutively recuperated for 3 times and completed 3 health indicator examinations in Air Force Healthcare Center for Special Services Hangzhou from January of 2017 to January of 2022. The pilots were divided into waist circumference <85 cm group, ≥85-90 cm group, and ≥90 cm group. According to their waist circumference change trend, they were divided into increased group (difference of waist circumference >0 cm) and decreased group (difference of waist circumference ≤0 cm). According to the 5-year change rate of waist circumference (Δ5), they were divided into waist circumference relative increased group (Δ5>3%), relative stable group (-3%≤Δ5≤3%), and relative decreased group (Δ5<-3%). The stratification of different waist circumference, the 5-year change rate of waist circumference and BMI, blood lipid indexes and abnormal rate of hyperlipidemia were compared. Waist circumference was measured and determined according to the relevant standards for flying personnel and adults.Results:①The mean waist circumference of 323 pilots was close to the value of pre-central obesity. The mean BMI had reached the overweight standard, and the mean TG and TC were at high end of normal values.②During the 5-year period, the values of blood lipid metabolism indicators were repeatedly measured 3 times, and the mean values of TG, TC, and LDL-C showed an increasing trend, with significant differences ( F=7.39, 9.49, 3.67, P=0.001,<0.001, =0.026) and the mean values of TG and TC of the third measurement had approached to high limit. ③The results of BMI, TG in 3 measurements, LDL-C in the first and third measurements, TC in the first measurement and the incidence of hyperlipidemia were all increased with the increase of waist circumference and the differences were significant ( F=3.06-133.39, χ2=9.08-22.99, all P<0.05); HDL-C decreased with the increase of waist circumference, with significant differences ( F=6.32, 9.78, 10.86, P=0.002, <0.001, <0.001). The mean BMI of the ≥85-90 cm group reached the overweight level in the 3 measurements. The mean values of TG and TC in the first 2 measurements were at high end of normal value, but the mean values in the third measurement were higher than the normal range. The mean values of BMI, TG, and TC in ≥90 cm group were all within the abnormal range. ④ The 5-year change rate of BMI and LDL-C in the waist circumference increased group were higher than those in the waist circumference decreased group ( F=26.02, 14.95, both P<0.001). ⑤The waist circumference relative stable and relative increased group had a higher incidence of new hyperlipidemia, with 27 cases (21.77%) and 24 cases (20.00%) respectively. The waist circumference relative decreased group had the highest improvement rate of hyperlipidemia in 5 cases (6.33%), but the difference was not significant (all P>0.05). Conclusions:The abnormal rates of waist circumference, BMI, and blood lipids in military pilots are relatively high and show an increasing trend. The changes in waist circumference are closely related to BMI and blood lipids, and maintaining waist circumference within a normal range helps to maintain stability of blood lipid metabolism.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2023;44(7):1068-1071
Objective:
To understand vaccination coverage and the influencing factors of varicella vaccine (VarV) among left-behind children in Quzhou, which based on protective motivation theory(PMT), so as to provide reference to consolidate VarV vaccination in the next step.
Methods:
From September to December in 2022, simple random sampling was used to select 628 left-behind children in six counties of Quzhou City. A questionnaire survey on their caregivers was conducted to collect data relating to sociological characteristics and PMT factors, and the influencing factors of VarV were tested by Logistic regression.
Results:
A total of 628 left-behind children participated in the study. The VarV rate was 69.59%, and 74.83% had received a second dose of VarV. The unvaccinated rate was 30.41%, and caregivers willingness to vaccinate children with VarV was only 10.99%. Logistic regression analysis showed that family relationships, annual household income, number of children in the family, extrinsic rewards and self-efficacy were the influencing factors of VarV among left-behind children ( OR =0.43-3.40, P <0.05). The external reward factor was positively correlated with the vaccination probability ( OR =1.14), and the self-efficacy factor was negatively correlated with the vaccination probability ( OR =0.95).
Conclusion
In the context of health education and school promotion, attention should be paid to factors relating to extrinsic rewards and self-efficacy as a means of increasing motivation to seek vaccine protection and improve the use of VarV.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2022;34(4):408-412
Objective:
To investigate the measles antibody level among residents in Quzhou City, Zhejiang Province in 2018, so as to provide the evidence for improving the measles control strategy.
Methods:
The permanent residents aged 0 to 59 years were randomly sampled from 10 townships ( streets ) in Kecheng District and Changshan County of Quzhou City. Residents' demographics and vaccination of measles-containing vaccine ( MCV ) were collected, and serum anti- measles IgG antibody was detected using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay ( ELISA ). The positive rate, protective rate and geometric mean concentration (GMC) of anti-measles antibody were estimated.
Results:
A total of 606 residents were tested, with a male to female ratio of 0.83∶1. The subjects had a median age ( interquartile range ) of 17.36 ( 29.07 ) years, and 399 residents ( 65.84% ) had a vaccination history of MCV. The positive rate, protective rate and GMC of anti-measles IgG antibody were 94.88%, 48.68%, and 784.51 ( 95%CI: 731.14-841.40) mIU/mL, respectively. The positive rate of anti-measles IgG antibody was higher in men than in women ( 97.08% vs. 93.07%, χ2=4.968, P=0.026 ), and the protection rate was lower in men than in women ( 44.16% vs. 52.41%, χ2=4.089, P=0.043 ). The protective rate and GMC of anti-measles IgG antibody showed a“U”-shaped distribution with age, and a low protective rate was seen in residents aged 10 to 39 years ( 23.53% to 46.67% ), which the GMC of anti-measles IgG antibody that did not reach the protective level. A total of 233 residents at age of 15 years and below had with a history of two-dose MCV vaccination, and the positive rate ( χ2trend=7.260, P=0.007 ), protective rate ( χ2trend=12.756, P<0.001 ) and GMC ( rs=-0.289, P<0.001 ) of anti-measles IgG antibody presented a tendency towards a reduction with time <1 to 11 years after vaccination of the last dose of MCV.
Conclusions
A high positive rate of anti-measles antibody was detected among residents in Quzhou City in 2018; however, the protection rate of anti-measles antibody was low among residents at ages of 10 to 39 years. The coverage of MCV vaccination is recommended to be improved among residents at ages of 10 to 39 years in Quzhou City.
