Schizophrenia (SZ) stands as a severe psychiatric disorder. This study applied diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) data in conjunction with graph neural networks to distinguish SZ patients from normal controls (NCs) and showcases the superior performance of a graph neural network integrating combined fractional anisotropy and fiber number brain network features, achieving an accuracy of 73.79% in distinguishing SZ patients from NCs. Beyond mere discrimination, our study delved deeper into the advantages of utilizing white matter brain network features for identifying SZ patients through interpretable model analysis and gene expression analysis. These analyses uncovered intricate interrelationships between brain imaging markers and genetic biomarkers, providing novel insights into the neuropathological basis of SZ. In summary, our findings underscore the potential of graph neural networks applied to multimodal DTI data for enhancing SZ detection through an integrated analysis of neuroimaging and genetic features.

Pigeons show flocking and homing behaviors,which require characteristics including long-distance weight-bearing and continuous flight,with excellent navigation and spatial cognitive abilities.Pigeons have been widely used in animal robot research in recent years.Pigeon robots achieve motor behavior control by applying neural information intervention to specific neural targets in the pigeon's brain.This review summarizes research progress in pigeon robots based on the sensory system,motivation and emotional system or cortex and midbrain motor area respectively,according to the distribution of hierarchical multi-level neural regulatory targets in the pigeon's brain,with the aim of providing reference and guidance for further applied research into the use of pigeon robots in space perception,reconnaissance,and anti-terrorism search and rescue.

Diabetic gastroparesis （DGP） is a common diabetic neuropathy that affects the normal function of gastric motility and emptying. Clinically， it often manifests as abdominal distension， nausea and vomiting， early satiety， dyspepsia， etc. The pathogenesis of DGP is multifactorial， closely related to many factors， such as chronic hyperglycemia， neuropathy， autonomic nervous system disorders， inflammation， and oxidative stress. These factors can interact with each other， leading to delayed gastric emptying and the occurrence of related symptoms. Traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） has significant advantages in the prevention and treatment of DGP， including a long history， remarkable efficacy， individualized treatment， diverse therapeutic formulations， and improvement in the quality of life. Additionally， TCM is known for its low adverse reactions， good tolerance， and multi-targeted effects， making it an important approach in the management of DGP. Previous research has found that the main mechanisms of Chinese medicine in the prevention and treatment of DGP include the regulation of gastrointestinal hormones， inhibition of inflammatory responses， reduction of oxidative stress， enhancement of interstitial cells of Cajal activity， inhibition of pyroptosis， and modulation of related signaling pathways such as stem cell factor （SCF）/cellular growth factor receptor （c-Kit）， adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase （AMPK）， Ras homologous genome member A （RhoA）/Rho-associated coiled-coil forming kinase （ROCK）. This article primarily summarized the research progress on Chinese medicine in preventing and treating DGP through the inhibition of inflammatory responses， reduction of oxidative stress， enhancement of interstitial cells of Cajal activity， inhibition of pyroptosis， and regulation of related signaling pathways， aiming to provide a reference and basis for further research on the application value of Chinese medicine in the prevention and treatment of DGP.

Brain development requires a delicate balance between self-renewal and differentiation in neural stem cells (NSC), which rely on the precise regulation of gene expression. Ten-eleven translocation 2 (TET2) modulates gene expression by the hydroxymethylation of 5-methylcytosine in DNA as an important epigenetic factor and participates in the neuronal differentiation. Yet, the regulation of TET2 in the process of neuronal differentiation remains unknown. Here, the protein level of TET2 was reduced by the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway during NSC differentiation, in contrast to mRNA level. We identified that TET2 physically interacts with the core subunits of the glucose-induced degradation-deficient (GID) ubiquitin ligase complex, an evolutionarily conserved ubiquitin ligase complex and is ubiquitinated by itself. The protein levels of GID complex subunits increased reciprocally with TET2 level upon NSC differentiation. The silencing of the core subunits of the GID complex, including WDR26 and ARMC8, attenuated the ubiquitination and degradation of TET2, increased the global 5-hydroxymethylcytosine levels, and promoted the differentiation of the NSC. TET2 level increased in the brain of the Wdr26^+/- mice. Our results illustrated that the GID complex negatively regulates TET2 protein stability, further modulates NSC differentiation, and represents a novel regulatory mechanism involved in brain development.

Objective:To prepare a phase-change lipid nanoparticle modified by tumor homing membrane-penetrating peptide (tLyP-1) and carrying paclitaxel (PTX) engineered by metal polyphenol network (TA-Fe 3+ ), and evaluate the therapeutic effects of tumor targeting, ultrasound/photoacoustic imaging and photothermal combined chemotherapy in vitro. Methods:Phase-change lipid nanoparticles (t-P@TFP) with TA-Fe 3+ engineered PTX mediated by tLyP-1 were prepared by solvent replacement method, thin film hydration method and double emulsification method. Its detection and characterization, in vitro targeting ability, photothermal conversion ability, in vitro photoacoustic and ultrasonic imaging ability, CCK-8 method, cell live and death double staining method and flow cytometry method were used to detect the safety of nanoparticles and the killing effects of different nanoparticles on 4T1 cells. Results:t-P@TFP nanoparticles were successfully prepared. Transmission electron microscopy showed that the nanoparticles were spherical with uniform shape and size, with a particle size of (209.8±1.56)nm and a potential of (-25.9±1.36)mV. Laser confocal scanning microscopy showed that t-P@TFP nanoparticles could gather around 4T1 cells in a targeted manner. It had an efficient photothermal conversion effect, and nanoparticles could quickly become microbubbles after being irradiated by near-infrared laser, which enhanced the in vitro ultrasonic imaging effect; The photoacoustic signal of nanoparticles increased with the increase of concentration. CCK-8 method, double staining of living and dead cells and flow cytometry showed that t-P@TFP combined photothermal chemotherapy had the best anti-tumor effect. Conclusions:t-P@TFP nanoparticles are successfully prepared. The nanoparticles have good targeting ability for photoacoustic and ultrasonic imaging and have good photothermal effect, killing breast cancer cells, which is expected to realize the integration of diagnosis and treatment.

Objective:To evaluate the applicability of the Zhang′s diagnostic criteria for atopic dermatitis (AD) in adolescents and adults from southern Jiangsu.Methods:A total of 1 769 patients were collected, who were newly diagnosed with eczema or AD in departments of dermatology of 7 hospitals in southern Jiangsu from May 2019 to May 2021. A standardized survey interview was conducted with patients by dermatologists using a self-designed questionnaire, which included patient′s personal information, relevant medical history, clinical characteristics, laboratory tests, etc. Using Hanifin-Rajka criteria as the gold standard, the sensitivity and specificity of the Williams criteria, Zhang′s criteria and Japanese Dermatological Association (JDA) criteria were evaluated, separately.Results:Among the 1 769 patients, there were 759 (42.9%) males and 1 010 (57.1%) females, aged 32.2 ± 8.2 years (range, 12 - 79 years) . Pruritus was the most common clinical feature among the AD patients (883/913, 96.7%) . When using the Hanifin-Rajka criteria as the gold standard, 913 (51.6%) subjects were diagnosed with AD; the sensitivity of Zhang′s criteria reached 92.6% (845/913) , and its specificity was 73.2% (627/856) ; the sensitivity of Williams′ criteria was 87.8% (802/913) , and its specificity was 81.3% (696/856) ; the sensitivity of JDA criteria reached 96.9% (885/913) , and its specificity was 68.9% (590/856) . The consistency in the diagnosis of AD was moderate between the Zhang′s criteria and Williams criteria (Kappa = 0.61, P = 0.009) , was relatively high between the Zhang′s criteria and JDA criteria (Kappa = 0.85, P = 0.001) , and was moderate between the Williams criteria and JDA criteria (Kappa = 0.51, P = 0.013) . Conclusions:Compared with the Hanifin-Rajka criteria, the Zhang′s criteria exhibit good sensitivity and specificity for the diagnosis of AD among adolescents and adults in southern Jiangsu. However, pruritus remains important for the diagnosis of AD.

Objective? To explore the effects of alternate half kneeling movement exercise combined with conductive education on the lower extremity function, electromyography and quality of life in children with spastic cerebral palsy (SCP). Methods? By using convenient sampling, and totally 95 SCP children admitted in the Department of Pediatrics, Affiliated Hospital of Ji'ning Medical University from January 2016 to January 2018 were selected. Patients in the control group (n=47) received conventional rehabilitation therapy, while patients in the observation group (n=48) received alternate half kneeling movement exercise combined with conductive education for 6 months. Changes of Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM) scores, dorsiflexion angle, Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS) scores, integrated electromyography (iEMG) values of tibialis anterior muscle and gastrocnemius muscle, co-contraction ratio (CR) of antagonist muscle, walking parameter, activity of daily living, Barthel index, and Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory TM 3.0 (Peds QLTM 3.0) were compared between the two groups before and after invention. Results? The GMFM score was higher while the dorsiflexion angle was lower in the observation group than in the control group, and there was statistically significant difference between the two groups after invention (P＜ 0.05). The MAS score of gastrocnemius muscle, hamstring muscle and adductor muscle was lower in the observation group than in the control group, and there was statistically significant difference between the two groups (P＜ 0.05). The iEMG value of tibialis anterior muscle was higher while the iEMG value and CR of gastrocnemius muscle was lower in the observation group than in the control group, and there was statistically significant difference between the two groups (P＜0.05). The observation group showed longer step length, faster pace and smaller stride width than the control group, and there was statistically significant difference between the two groups (P＜0.05). The Barthel index and Peds QLTM 3.0 score of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and there was statistically significant difference between the two groups (P＜ 0.05). Conclusions? Alternate half kneeling movement exercise combined with conductive education may reduce the lower extremity muscular tension, and improve the lower extremity movement function and walking ability, the quality of daily living and quality of life in SCP children.

Brain tuberculosis is difficult to diagnose with low incident and high mortality and mobidity.Early diagnosis and timely treatment are the keys to prognosis.In recent years,reports of brain stem tuberculosis gradually increased with the improvement of diagnosing techniques.To further understand brain stem tuberculosis,the pathogenesis,clinical manifestation,feasibility of diagnosis,treatment,prognosis and vaccination are reviewed.

Objective To investigate cartilage oligomeric matrix protein( COMP) gene mutation in a three-generation pedigree with two cases of pseudoachondroplasia, and to definitize genotype-phenotype correlation. Methods The clinical data and peripheral blood were collected from the patients with pseudoachondroplasia and their family members. All the 19 exons and their flanking sequences of COMP gene in two patients and three unaffected family numbers and 50 unrelated individuals were analyzed by PCR amplification and direct sequencing. Results The proband, a 6-year-old girl presented with typical clinical features of pseudoachondroplasia, including disproportionate short limb dwarfism, staggering gait, double genu varus deformity, and wider clinical and imaging long bone metaphysis. The 33-year-old father showed a similar manifestation including disproportionate short limb dwarfism and double genu varus deformity, and was performed correcting operation on lower limbs for double genu varus at the age of 10 years. DNA sequencing analysis of the COMP gene revealed a del mutation ( c. 1417 1419delGAC)in exon 13 in two patients with pseudoachondroplasia, but not in the other unaffected members from the pedrgree and 50 control subjects. Conclusion A del mutation c. 1417 1419delGAC of COMP gene may contribute to the disease in the pedigree.

Objective To study and summary the treatment of talus fracture. Methods Fifteen patients with talus fracture were treated by limited cut off reduction by leverage and hollow lag screw under C arm X-Ray machine January 2008 to November 2014, of whom there were 11 males and 4 females, aged 15-61 years old. Seven patients sufferred from talus fracture because of traffic accidents, 4 patients because of falls, 2 patients because of crush injury, and 2 patients because of sprains. Hawkins typing:Ⅰtype in 1 patient, Ⅱ type in 6 patients, Ⅲ type in 6 patients of Ⅲ type, and Ⅳ type in 2 patients. Results Followed up for 6 months to 4 years (mean 1.5 years), fracture healed better. Hawkins grading standard:9 patients showed excellent (1 patient ofⅠtype, 5 patients ofⅡtype, 3 patients ofⅢtype), and two patients showed good (Ⅲtype). The excellent and good rate was 11/15. Necrosis of talus occurred in one patient, and degenerative joint disease occured in one patient. Conclusions Minimally invasive internal fixation with hollow lag screw under C arm X-Ray machine in the treatment of talus fracture has a small injury to the periosteum and the blood supply of small soft tissue. It can fix reliably and can pressurize the fracture fragments, and is conducive to fracture healing.
