DPP4 is a serine exopeptidase that is immobilized on the cell membrane and plays a crucial regulatory role in various physiological and pathological activities within the human body.In addition to acting as a transcription factor to regulate the tran-scription and expression of downstream target genes,DPP4 also functions as a transcription-independent regulator through pro-tein-protein interactions. In recent studies,DPP4 has been strongly linked to various diseases, and several substances with the potential to target DPP4 have been identified. This paper mainly reviews the multifunctionality of DPP4 in regulating vari-ous aspects of energy metabolism, inflammation, tissue repair and carcinogenesis in the body.It also reviews the screening of in vitro inhibitors of DPP4 and its research progress in regulating chronic liver disease, based on the pathological development process of chronic liver disease.

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of 62-slice spiral CT and its post-processing techniques for tibial plateau fracture(TPF)and its influence on treatment regimens selection. Methods A total of 173 TPF patients diagnosed and treated in our hospital from January 2021 to December 2022 were included, and the diagnostic accuracy, classification diagostic accuracy and fracture collapse degree accuracy of X-ray and CT scans were compared, with surgical and pathological diagnosis as the gold standard. Results CT and its post-processing technique can more clearly show the direction of fracture line, the displacement direction of fracture fragments and the collapse degree of articular surface than X-ray.The fracture morphology of 171 patients seen during the operation was consistent with CT and its post-processing images. The diagnostic accuracy of X-ray for TPF was 93.64%,which was lower than that of CT and its post-processing techniques(98.84% ),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=6.474,P=0.011).The overall accuracy of X-ray in evaluating the degree of fracture collapse was significantly lower than that of CT 3D reconstruction(65.32% vs.90.75%;χ2=32.644,P<0.001).The total accuracy of CT and its post-processing techniques for TPF Schatzker classification(97.69% )was higher than that of X-ray(88.44% ),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=11.462,P=0.001).Different CT reconstruction models had statistically significant difference on the total accuracy of TPF Schatzker classification diagnosis(χ2=40.647,P<0.001),and the diagnosis accuracy of volume reconstruction was the highest(96.53% ).Conclusion The application of CT and its post-processing techniques can effectively evaluate TPF,articular surface collapse and fracture classification, and provide imaging reference for clinical decision-making.

The aim of this study was to trace to origin of SARS-CoV-2 originating from imported cold-chain products re-sponsible for an outbreak that occurred on September 6-9,2022 in Mawei District,Fuzhou City,Fujian Province,China.Sam-ples from all positively infected persons and one positive sample from a swab of a cold-chain product during the outbreak were collected for gene sequencing.Epidemiological investigations were conducted on all positively infected persons to analyze the chain of transmission of the virus.Nucleic acids were detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR,and the outbreak was characterized by a total of eight positive infections, which were asymptomatic.Whole-genome sequencing of three infected per-sons and one cold-chain product sample identified 75 nucleotides and 55 amino acid mutation sites of the BA.2.3.7 variant, with four highly homologous whole-genome sequences. These results confirmed that the outbreak was caused by exposure to impor-ted cold-chain products carrying the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron BA.2.3.7 strain.

Objective:To evaluate the safety and efficiency of robotic visualization system(RVS)-assisted microsurgical re-construction of the reproductive tract in male rats and the satisfaction of the surgeons. Methods:We randomly divided 8 adult male SD rats into an experimental and a control group, the former treated by RVS-assisted microsurgical vasoepididymostomy(VE)or vaso-vasostomy(VV),and the latter by VE or VV under the standard operating microscope(SOM).We compared the operation time,me-chanical patency and anastomosis leakage immediately after surgery, and the surgeons'satisfaction between the two groups. Results:No statistically significant difference was observed the operation time between the experimental and the control groups, and no anasto-mosis leakage occurred after VV in either group. The rate of mechanical patency immediately after surgery was 100%in both groups, and that of anastomosis leakage after VE was 16.7%in the experimental group and 14.3%in the control.Compared with the control group, the experimental group achieved dramatically higher scores on visual comfort(3.00±0.76 vs 4.00±0.53,P<0.05),neck/back comfort(2.75±1.16 vs 4.38±1.06,P<0.01)and man-machine interaction(3.88±1.55 va 4.88±0.35,P<0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in the scores on image definition and operating room suitability between the two groups. Conclusion:RVS can be used in microsurgical reconstruction of the reproductive tract in male rats and, with its advantages over SOM in ergonomic design and image definition, has a potential application value in male reproductive system micosurgery.

Objective To investigate the risk factors for bronchopulmonary dysplasia(BPD)in twin preterm infants with a gestational age of<34 weeks, and to provide a basis for early identification of BPD in twin preterm infants in clinical practice. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed for the twin preterm infants with a gestational age of<34 weeks who were admitted to 22 hospitals nationwide from January 2018 to December 2020.According to their conditions, they were divided into group A(both twins had BPD),group B(only one twin had BPD),and group C(neither twin had BPD).The risk factors for BPD in twin preterm infants were analyzed.Further analysis was conducted on group B to investigate the postnatal risk factors for BPD within twins. Results A total of 904 pairs of twins with a gestational age of<34 weeks were included in this study. The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that compared with group C,birth weight discordance of>25%between the twins was an independent risk factor for BPD in one of the twins(OR=3.370,95%CI:1.500-7.568,P<0.05),and high gestational age at birth was a protective factor against BPD(P<0.05).The conditional logistic regression analysis of group B showed that small-for-gestational-age(SGA)birth was an independent risk factor for BPD in individual twins(OR=5.017,95%CI:1.040-24.190,P<0.05).Conclusions The development of BPD in twin preterm infants is associated with gestational age, birth weight discordance between the twins, and SGA birth.

Objective To explore the effectiveness of different intervention strategies in response to outbreaks of emerging highly pathogenic respiratory infectious diseases(RIDs)in mega-city in China, and provide decision-ma-king basis for effective response to emerging RIDs.Methods A susceptible-exposed-infectious-recovered(SEIR)transmission dynamics model was constructed, referencing to and combining the pathogenicity and infectivity para-meters of previous emerging RIDs.The outbreak of emerging highly pathogenic RIDs with low, moderate, and high infectivity in a mega-city with a population of 10 million in China was simulated, the development of the epidemic within 100 days after implementing different combinations of non-pharmaceutical interventions(NPIs)in response to the outbreak was compared. Results When highly pathogenic RIDs outbreak occurred, and if its infectivity was low(R0 was about 1.5),it was unnecessary to adopt strict NPIs to control epidemic. If its infectivity was moderate(R0 was about 6),different intensities of NPIs were needed based on its existing infection scale. When the initial num-ber of infected cases was 50,moderate-intensity NPIs could keep the infection and death at a low level within 100 days, and the required bed number in hospital for cases could be kept below the national average reserve level. But when the scale of infection exceeded 100 cases,high-intensity NPIs were needed to control the development of the epidemic. In the case of extremely strong infectivity(R0 was about 10),regardless of the scale of infection, only immediate high-intensity NPIs could control the epidemic, infection and death scale. Conclusion In case of out-breaks of highly pathogenic RIDs,adopting appropriate NPIs as early as possible based on their epidemiological characteristics and infection scale is necessary to minimize the harm to the population.
