Forensic medicine has been designated as a first-level discipline,presenting new opportunities and challenges for the development of forensic medicine.Since the 1980s,the establishment of foren-sic medicine discipline and the cultivation of high-level forensic talents have become hot topics in the development of forensic medicine in China.Since the 13th Five-Year Plan,the forensic team of Shanxi Medical University has been aiming at the forefront,proposing the development goals of"Five First-class"and the discipline development path"Six Major Achievements".It has selected benchmark disci-plines,identified gaps in disciplinary development,unified thoughts,formulated completion timelines,concentrated superior resources,assigned tasks to individuals,and created an"Organized Fill-in-the-Blank Format"forensic medicine discipline construction model with the characteristics of the new era.The construction model of forensic medicine has achieved good results in the goals,discipline frame-work,scientific research,talent cultivation,discipline team and platform construction,forming a rela-tively complete discipline construction and management system,and accumulating valuable experience for the construction of first-level discipline and high-level talent cultivation of forensic medicine.

Syringa pinnatifolia, belonging to the family Oleaceae, is a species endemic to China. It is predominantly distributed in the Helan Mountains region of Inner Mongolia and Ningxia of China. The peeled roots, stems, and thick branches have been used as a distinctive Mongolian medicinal material known as "Shan-chen-xiang", which has effects such as suppressing "khii", clearing heat, and relieving pain and is employed for the treatment of cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases and joint pain. Over the past five years, significant increase was achieved in research on chemical constituents and pharmacological effects. There were a total of 130 new constituents reported, covering sesquiterpenoids, lignans, and alkaloids. Its effects of anti-myocardial ischemia, anti-cerebral ischemia/reperfusion, sedation, and analgesia were revealed, and the mechanisms of agarwood formation were also investigated. To better understand its medical value and potential of clinical application, this review updates the research progress in recent five years focusing on the chemical constituents and pharmacological effects of S. pinnatifolia, providing reference for subsequent research on active ingredient and support for its innovative application in modern medicine system.

Ferroptosis, a programmed cell death modality discovered and defined in the last decade, is primarily induced by iron-dependent lipid peroxidation. At present, it has been found that ferroptosis is involved in various physiological functions such as immune regulation, growth and development, aging, and tumor suppression. Especially its role in tumor biology has attracted extensive attention and research. Breast cancer is one of the most common female tumors, characterized by high heterogeneity and complex genetic background. Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a special type of breast cancer, which lacks conventional breast cancer treatment targets and is prone to drug resistance to existing chemotherapy drugs and has a low cure rate after progression and metastasis. There is an urgent need to find new targets or develop new drugs. With the increase of studies on promoting ferroptosis in breast cancer, it has gradually attracted attention as a treatment strategy for breast cancer. Some studies have found that certain compounds and natural products can act on TNBC, promote their ferroptosis, inhibit cancer cells proliferation, enhance sensitivity to radiotherapy, and improve resistance to chemotherapy drugs. To promote the study of ferroptosis in TNBC, this article summarized and reviewed the compounds and natural products that induce ferroptosis in TNBC and their mechanisms of action. We started with the exploration of the pathways of ferroptosis, with particular attention to the System X_c^--cystine-GPX4 pathway and iron metabolism. Then, a series of compounds, including sulfasalazine (SAS), metformin, and statins, were described in terms of how they interact with cells to deplete glutathione (GSH), thereby inhibiting the activity of glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) and preventing the production of lipid peroxidases. The disruption of the cellular defense against oxidative stress ultimately results in the death of TNBC cells. We have also our focus to the realm of natural products, exploring the therapeutic potential of traditional Chinese medicine extracts for TNBC. These herbal extracts exhibit multi-target effects and good safety, and have shown promising capabilities in inducing ferroptosis in TNBC cells. We believe that further exploration and characterization of these natural compounds could lead to the development of a new generation of cancer therapeutics. In addition to traditional chemotherapy, we discussed the role of drug delivery systems in enhancing the efficacy and reducing the toxicity of ferroptosis inducers. Nanoparticles such as exosomes and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) can improve the solubility and bioavailability of these compounds, thereby expanding their therapeutic potential while minimizing systemic side effects. Although preclinical data on ferroptosis inducers are relatively robust, their translation into clinical practice remains in its early stages. We also emphasize the urgent need for more in-depth and comprehensive research to understand the complex mechanisms of ferroptosis in TNBC. This is crucial for the rational design and development of clinical trials, as well as for leveraging ferroptosis to improve patient outcomes. Hoping the above summarize and review could provide references for the research and development of lead compounds for the treatment for TNBC.

Glucagon-like peptide-1 ( GLP-1 ) is secreted by gut enteroendocrine cells. GLP-1 receptor agonists ( GLP-1 RAs) control glucose-related augmentation of insulin and suppress glu-cagon secretion. GLP-lRAs also inhibit gastric emptying, food intake and limit weight gain. In the past decade, significant progresses have been made in the investigation on the effects of GLP-1 RAs on cardiovascular system. The potential advantages of oral small-molecule GLP-1 RAs could improve the application of this class of drugs. This review highlights the multiple cardiovascular profiles of GLP-1 RAs in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases to provide new insights into cardiovascular benefits of GLP-1 RAs.

Objective:To explore the clinical characteristics and prognosis of patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL)of the breast.Methods:The clinical data of 28 DLBCL patients admitted to Shanxi Provincial Cancer Hospital from January 2013 to January 2023 were retrospectively analysed,including 13 cases of primary breast DLBCL(PB-DLBCL)and 15 cases of secondary breast DLBCL(SB-DLBCL),and the data of their clinical manifestations,laboratory tests,pathological examinations,treatment protocols,and follow-up were statistically analyzed.Results:There were significant differences in IPI score,LDH level and β2-microglobulin between PB-DLBCL and SB-DLBCL patients(P＜0.05).Among the 23 patients with breast DLBCL who received regular treatment,13 patients achieved complete remission(9 patients with PB-DLBCL and 4 patients with SB-DLBCL)after initial treatment.By the end of follow-up,11 patients relapsed or progressed(5 patients with PB-DLBCL and 6 patients with SB-DLBCL)and 9 patients died(3 patients with PB-DLBCL and 6 patients with SB-DLBCL).The 5-year OS rate was(75.0±15.3)％in PB-DLBCL group and(32.3±17.1)％in SB-DLBCL group.The 5-year PFS rate was(59.1±19.8)％in PB-DLBCL and 0％in SB-DLBCL group.The 5-year OS rate and PFS rate of PB-DLBCL patients were higher than those of SB-DLBCL patients(P＜0.05);the 5-year OS rate of the combined central preventive treatment group was higher than that of the chemotherapy group(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Breast DLBCL is divided into two categories:PB-DLBCL and SB-DLBCL.Compared with SB-DLBCL,PB-DLBCL has the characteristics of lower IPI score,LDH,and β2-microglobulin levels.PB-DLBCL patients have a longer survival period.In addition,the prognosis of patients receiving central preventive treatment is more optimistic.

Aim To establish a high-throughput screening cell model for GLP-1 receptor agonists. Methods A pEGFP-GLP-1R-3 C recombinant plasmid was constructed and transfected into HEK293T cells. The cells were screened with G418 and flow cytometry. The established stable cell line was named HEK293TGLP-lR-3C-eGFP cell line. The expression level of GLP-1 R-3C-eGFP protein was confirmed by Western blotting and laser confocal microscopy. Then cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) response element reporter gene was transfected into the HEK293T-GLP-lR-3C-eGFP cells. The luminescence values were detected by One-Step Luciferase Reporter Gene Assay Kit after stimulation with different concentrations of GLP-1 peptide. The luminescence values reflected the cellular cAMP level, which was verified using the cAMP kit (E L I S A). Results HEK293T-GLP-lR-3C-eGFP cell line was successfully constructed. The relative light unit change trend after stimulation with different concentrations of GLP-1 was similar to that of the cellular cAMP level change trend. The value of Z' in this experiment was 0.52. Conclusions A recombinant HEK293T cell line is established, which can be used for high-throughput screening of GLP-1 receptor agonists.

Objectives: To investigate the clinical value of adjuvant chemotherapy(ACT) in patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma(ICC) who underwent radical resection and to explore the optimal population that can benefit from ACT. Methods: A retrospective cohort study method was adopted. The clinical and pathological data of 685 patients with ICC who underwent curative intent resection in 10 Chinese hepatobiliary surgery centers from January 2010 to December 2018 were collected;There were 355 males and 330 females. The age(M(IQR)) was 58(14) years (range: 22 to 83 years). Propensity score matching(PSM) was applied to balance the differences between the adjuvant and non-adjuvant chemotherapy groups. Log-rank test was used to compare the prognosis of the two groups of patients. A Bayesian network recurrence-free survival(RFS) prediction model was constructed using the median RFS time (14 months) as the target variable, and the importance of the relevant prognostic factors was ranked according to the multistate Birnbaum importance calculation. A survival prognostic prediction table was established to analyze the population benefiting from adjuvant chemotherapy. Results: Among 685 patients,214 received ACT and 471 did not receive ACT. A total of 124 pairs of patients were included after PSM, and patients in the ACT group had better overall survival (OS) and RFS than those in the non-ACT group(OS: 32.2 months vs. 18.0 months,P=0.003;RFS:18.0 months vs. 10.0 months,P=0.001). The area under the curve of the Bayesian network RFS prediction model was 0.7124. The results of the prognostic factors in order of importance were microvascular invasion (0.158 2),perineural invasion (0.158 2),N stage (0.155 8),T stage (0.120 9), hepatic envelope invasion (0.090 3),adjuvant chemotherapy (0.072 1), tumor location (0.057 5), age (0.042 3), pathological differentiation (0.034 0), sex (0.029 3), alpha-fetoprotein (0.028 9) and preoperative jaundice (0.008 5). A survival prediction table based on the variables with importance greater than 0.1 (microvascular invasion,perineural invasion,N stage,T staging) and ACT showed that all patients benefited from ACT (increase in the probability of RFS≥14 months from 2.21% to 7.68%), with a more significant increase in the probability of RFS≥14 months after ACT in early-stage patients. Conclusion: ACT after radical resection in patients with ICC significantly prolongs the OS and RFS of patients, and the benefit of ACT is greater in early patients.

To establish a quantitative analysis of multi-components by single marker (QAMS) for the determination of Aster souliei Franch., the relative correction factors (f_x) of neochlorogenic acid, cryptochlorogenic acid, rutin, isoquercitrin, isochlorogenic acid B, isochlorogenic acid A, isochlorogenic acid C, quercetin, apigenin and kaempferol were established by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography with chlorogenic acid as internal reference. Meanwhile, the content of each component was determined by the external standard method (ESM) and QAMS, and a linear regression model was established to verify the feasibility and accuracy of the QAMS. Hierarchical clustering analysis (HCA) and orthogonal partial least square discriminate analysis (OPLS-DA) were used to evaluate the quality of 23 batches of A. souliei. The results showed that the repeatability of each f_x was good. The average content of neochlorogenic acid, cryptochlorogenic acid, rutin, isoquercitrin, isochlorogenic acid B, isochlorogenic acid A, isochlorogenic acid C, quercetin, apigenin and kaempferol in 23 batches of A. souliei by QAMS was 0.165, 0.234, 6.115, 0.478, 0.484, 3.359, 1.382, 0.210, 0.172, and 0.057 mg·g^-1, respectively. The mean content determined by the ESM method was 0.163, 0.235, 6.172, 0.479, 0.483, 3.343, 1.413, 0.207, 0.171, and 0.056 mg·g^-1. The results of HCA and OPLS-DA analysis show that 23 batches of A. souliei can be divided into two groups based on caffeic acid content. The content of the first group was between 0.873 to 5.647 mg·g^-1, while the second was between 8.524 to 16.705 mg·g^-1. This QAMS method can be used to simply and quickly evaluate the quality A. souliei.

China has a high incidence of esophageal cancer，more than 90% of which are esophageal squamous cell carcinoma （ESCC）. Abnormal proliferation，migration and new microvessels of intraepithelial neoplasia cells are the important pathogenic links in the transformation from esophageal intraepithelial neoplasia （EIN） to ESCC. Studies on the progression of esophageal precancerous lesions into esophageal cancer mostly focus on environment and genetic susceptibility，such as inflammatory factors，abnormal vascular endothelial growth factor （VEGF） signaling pathway transduction，p53 gene mutation，and DNA methylation. Some pharmacology studies have confirmed that traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） can inhibit inflammatory factors，regulate abnormal signaling pathways and improve the microenvironment. A large number of patients with esophageal cancer have been found to be in advanced stage，and the 5-year survival rate is low even after active treatment. The quality of life of patients in advanced stage is worrying due to esophageal obstruction and lung infection，and therefore， early prevention is important. Early intervention in patients with esophageal precancerous lesions is in line with clinical needs and embodies the TCM theory of “treating disease before its onset.” The mechanism of action and clinical efficacy of TCM has been gradually confirmed and promoted， with certain clinical significance. To explore simple，economical and effective TCM intervention measures conforms to the clinical diagnosis and treatment standards and the modernization of TCM.
