OBJECTIVES:
To propose a single repetition time (TR) quantitative magnetic susceptibility imaging method for the lumbar spine using bipolar readout gradient, and compare the quantitative magnetic susceptibility measurement using single TR and dual TR methods for the lumbar spine with different bone densities.
METHODS:
A translation correction method was proposed to correct spatial misalignment along the frequency encoding direction between positive and negative gradient readout images, and the phase difference between the images was eliminated using a phase correction method. The data of lumbar vertebrae L1-L5 were collected using single TR and dual TR methods from 6 normal individuals, 2 patients with osteopenia, and 2 patients with osteoporosis. The magnetic susceptibility map was reconstructed, the quantitative results of single TR before and after correction were compared with those of the dual TR method.
RESULTS:
The linear regression result of the lumbar spine magnetic susceptibility values obtained by the single TR method before calibration and the dual TR method is Y=0.64*X-11.61. The linear regression result of the lumbar spine magnetic susceptibility values corrected by the single TR method and the dual TR method is Y=1.03*X+0.25. The results of the corrected single TR method were highly consistent with those of the dual TR method, and the calibrated single TR method could effectively distinguish osteopenia and osteoporosis patients from normal individuals.
CONCLUSIONS
The calibrated single TR bipolar readout gradient method can generate artifact-free lumbar spine quantitative magnetic susceptibility distribution maps and reduce data acquisition time by 50%.

Objective:
To compare the stress distribution of different all-ceramic restoration materials and thicknesses in dental crown restorations using the finite element method and provide a reference for the selection and design of clinical crown restoration materials.
Methods:
A finite element model of mandibular first molar implant crown restoration was created, and 6 crown thickness designs and 4 different crown restoration materials were evaluated, namely, resin-based ceramics (Lava Ultimate and Vita Enamic), lithium disilicate glass-ceramics (IPS e.max CAD), and zirconia ceramic (Cercon) designs. The mandibular first molars were loaded at 600 N, and the stress distribution was analyzed by using the finite element software ANSYS 10.0.
Results:
The crown stress analysis showed that 156.05 MPa was the highest in 4 mm Cercon group and 18.85 MPa was the lowest in 1 mm Lava Ultimate group. The stress analysis of resin cement showed that 62.52 MPa was the highest in the 4 mm Lava Ultimate group and 16.74 MPa was the lowest in 1 mm IPS e.max CAD group. During the use of the finished platform, the stress concentration of the Lava Ultimate group in the crown prosthesis and resin cement was higher than that of the personalized platform with the same crown thickness.
Conclusion
With increasing crown thickness, the maximum principal stress concentration in crown restoration and resin cement increases. Personalized abutments are more conducive to reducing stress concentrations for resin-based ceramics.

Purpose:
Most lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) patients are diagnosed at the advanced stage and have poor prognosis. DNA methylation plays an important role in the prognosis prediction of cancers. The objective of this study was to identify new DNA methylation sites as biomarkers for LUAD prognosis.
Materials and Methods:
We downloaded DNA methylation data from The Cancer Genome Atlas data portal. Cox proportional hazard regression model and random survival forest algorithm were applied to identify the DNA-methylation sites. Methylation of sites were validated in the Gene Expression Omnibus cohorts. Function annotation were done to explore the biological function of DNA methylated sites signature.
Results:
Six DNA methylation sites were identified as prognosis signature. The signature yielded acceptable discrimination between the high-risk group and low-risk group. The discrimination effect of this DNA methylation signature for the OS was obvious, with a median OS of 21.89 months vs. 17.74 months for high-risk vs. low-risk groups. This prognostic prediction model was validated by the test group and GEO dataset. The predictive survival value was higher for the prognostic prediction model than that for the tumor node metastasis stage. Adjuvant hemotherapy could not affect the prediction of the signature. Functional analysis indicated that these signature genes were involved in protein binding and cytoplasm.
Conclusion
We identified the prognostic signature for LUAD by combining six DNA methylation sites. This could service as potential robust and specificity signature in the prognosis prediction of LUAD.
